still like him.. nothing you say can change that :D

Maybe its because he won the championship the year i REALLY started to follow F1... maybe its because i think he is a really good driver, dunno

We will never know cause he is to old, but i think he would have kicked some arse in a better car

shows you guys like too jump the gun.....

Villeneuve arrogant you say.....maybe he just likes too speak his mind and not play the stupid circus F1 game.....

and try too remember.....World Champ F1.....World Champ Cart Series.....

part of a group of gents tryin to start a brand new Team in F1....risky move....but he did put his Rep. on the line....its just not workin well.....he did get the giant Honda to come back to F1.

now apart from that.....Schum is on a team with a 350 million spendin budget(biggest)....Ferrari's closest team spendin budget is McLaren.....Talent and lotsa money will give you Champions don't you think.....

Same car.....Schum vs. Villeneuve......I pick Villeneuve any day of the week.....Schum is an excellent driver....very good at doin time trials.....but he really sucks when it comes too fighting for position.....he slammed D.Hill(on purpose).....and he slammed into Villeneuve(on purpose)....tryin to take em out of race......he's a bad loser.

put Schum into a Nascar.....and he's gonna slam into everyone.

He's still being out-raced by a younger driver, driving the same car. You can't escape that fact.

No we can't, but he DID however hold M.Schumacher back for a good 7-8 laps, which made Schumacher, who isn't the driver he was, but still has a clearly superior car, look quite weak.

You must've missed when Schuey passed Trulli for 4th

Thats a fairly debatable fact whether it was JV or the nature of modern F1 racing. One things for sure what happened when Schuey forced his way past.

Schum vs. Villeneuve - Easy...I'd take shuey anyday - just  soley on the fact he is a vastly superior driver alone, he never makes the kind of errors Villeneuve makes...

I watch quite a bit of it when I can.  But I don't consider 2, 3 or even 4 lead changes all that exciting and that is what F1 has been for at least the last 6 years or so.  Until this year it was Schuey, Haikkinen, or Barry (with the odd exception, Montoya, etc...) and that really isn't all that exciting IMO.  Now WRC, there's bleedin' excitement mate!

Jv's tires where much more worn out then Button's(explain why that is).....the crew called JV in the pits BEFORE Button......which gave Button the chance to go in front of JV.....in F1 you always wanna pit 2nd.....Button was faster......so crew decided to pit JV 1st.

now explain too me why it is that JV has 5 Dnf's and Button has none.....same car.....go figure.

vastly superior CAR and TEAM will put you in Front.....Schum had many opportunities to fight it out.....each time he crashed into the other.....and then you call that TALENT......unless he is in front of everyone...yes he is good.....put em in a fighting situation....he sucks....

as for errors...they all make em....proves there human after all.....at least he tries with the hardware at hand....instead of just whinin.

JV's tires were worn because he wore them out.  Maybe Button was driving more skillfully and conserving his tires?

DNFs - Usually caused by JV driving the car off the track.

I'm sure he would win races if he was with one of the top three teams.  But he's not the driver he was 6 years ago.  I don't think he really cares any more.

Sorry :)
Just wanted to make sure you weren't one of these NASCAR guys who thinks a car slowly pulling by another car that's 1 mph slower is "an exciting lead change".  :)

Funky, the F1 cars all run the same speed, just like NASCAR.  The difference is, the NASCAR boys maintain high speed for a larger percentage of the time, thus the smaller comparative pull-away speed.

After spending the last couple of years learning how to drive fast in racing sims like GPL and Nascar Racing, I have a new appreciation and respect for race car drivers. It looks so damn easy on TV, but when you get behind the wheel and try it yourself, it is a very difficult and intense occupation.
