Speaking of fuzzy...Boa did the WB Con in '97.  That is, unless he did the '98 con too, but I don't think he's THAT crazy...well, maybe.  :D

-edit-  Oh, and to end all of the controversy, I will host the 2004 AH Con.  It will be held in my 1 bedroom apt.  I have a broadband connection, and a cupboard with a big bottle of jack, plus Absolute & Jager Meister in the freezer.  What more could ya need?!

Hehe I have some hazy memories of the '98 Con...the Vampires...the Flak Oil from in the Rogue Gryffon's hospitality suite...Mooney...fire alarm going off at 3am...trying to get 20 drunk guys together for a mission to steal the pool table from the vampires...keg in the war room...shooting down AC and Wild Bill while some local news station filmed it...and a real bad hangover...

I think we should take sob up on that.

Actually 2 things...
1st
comprehension

rather important to spell it right when you are referring to reading.

2nd

Anybody got a nice farm out in texas somewhere with plenty of room?  Wouldnt it kick bellybutton to get a t1 hooked up to it and have the convention be something of a campout?  Just imagine the potential...

:D  What ??????? Of course they should work to put on con for their customers. What are you thinking? :p

I was there.  I was the one that had the two dueling stations set up until some stunninghunk stole the network cables and somehow broke one of the NIC cards.

I am hoping that someone looks at the Indy CON and says - Hey - I can do that - I could even do BETTER than the Indy CON.

Jordi-

Please don't take my reasons for liking Grapevine better than Indy as a location as a slam on your efforts.  I had a WONDERFUL time at Indy, all because of you (and the unsung heroine, Mrs. Jordi), and I'm duly appreciative.  If Indy had a venue with the same amenities (not counting the proximity of my sister) as Grapevine, I wouldn't have a preference between them.  Travel distance really means nothing to me.

But the simple fact is, you are WAY better-suited than most of us reprobates to host a Con.  #1, you don't drink.  #2, you have a wife who's willing to help you with the enormous amount of work, and she doesn't drink, either.  The rest of us, however, are mostly sociopathic drunks somewhere between our 7th and 8th doomed shackings-up.  We can't even balance our checkbooks or remember to pay our bills, let alone handle the burden of hosting a Con.  And if we were ever drunk enough to volunteer for it anyway, it would be an unparalleled disaster, because there'd be 1 or 2 guys like you sober enough to notice ;).

Besides, I kinda enjoyed last year watching HT being snot-slinging drunk the whole time and Yankee keeping the ship afloat.  I hope HT remembered he thought she deserved a raise for her efforts :D

You guys all forgot the sole reason for the Con needing to be in Texas.

THE whoopee GIRLS!

I dream of Texas-caliber girls every night. I need to get lost in Austin again!

None taken.

I think most of the points you made were spot on.

It was just a general reference to any group in TX that feels they would like to try and run and host a CON down there.

I am looking FORWARD to attending a CON and flying and having FUN and not working at it !
