...electricity is still working… for a while. Somewhere along the line a transformer will blow and shut down the grid. Over time more and more will go out. The biggest concern is the nuclear plants generating the electricity. They WILL melt down eventually, and you need to be at least 500 miles away when it happens to avoid dying right away. That also means you need to find a Geiger counter, and learn how to use it...

Why is everyone so certain that there will be radiation everywhere? Nuclear plants should shut down automatically in case of malfunction and probably won't release radiation for a very long time.

I would probably head to the liquor store, collect as much of the $20 or more bottles of Merlot, Cabernet, Shirax as I could carry, then to the hospital to get some of the "May cause drowsyness" type drugs(vicadin, demeral, vallium, etc) because without human company, my sanity won't last long.

On a lighter note, I would go to a Chicago Gun Store, stock up on the most powerful weapons available and get ready for the coming of the anti-christ, space aliens, or C.H.U.D.s(Canabalistic Humaniod Underground Dwellers), which ever turns your crank.

Mac out

Fly down to KSC and try to launch the Space Shutle with me in it :)
Shouldn't be too hard, it's all automatic. Chances are I'd blow up and die, but then again, who would want to live utterly alone :p

PS. Great thread!

I would go down to the bay and get a large ocen going boat.  Stalk it with everything I could think of and go see the world.  Who cares if gps works, learn how to use a compas, just make sure you know how to repair the workings on the boat and go in search of life.
