There are different forms of competition (scenerios, 1v1, 2v2, AH vs WB, etc)... but it all depends on just what the competition is.  Like you said, I'll have fun being competitive, but I wont let it become SO competitive that it spills over into other areas. :)

I hear ya Octavius....it's just that to me there is only one way to play....balls to the wall. The thought of losing to those girlscouts over at WB's turns my stomach.

As to different forms of competition? There is only one where I come from....beat em so badly that they'll tell their childrens children of the horror which is the AH virtual combat pilot!!! I'm sorry, but I can't help myself.:)

heheh

I was late to the flight sim scene (1999) and don't know too many over at WB.  That said, I'll take your word on the girlscout description :D

Lazs,  I didn't collect the info, type it. or put up the website(don't know how ). That info was garnered from a section of furballcentral.com, who's heyday coincided w/ AW.  One could be rated by one's peers at the site, this is what I referenced.

Believe me the WB guys will take this "fun" as serious as a heartbeat.

Most will be trainers.

Time frame is a problem because I defy you all to download the game and actually get it up configured and running by the end of the week.

The short time frame is part of the duel.

The game begins before the game begins.

It's already begun.

Seen a variation of this "game" before.

Good list Rude. If your list is up, it would be ugly. Ain't gonna be no slouches from over there, some real good sticks. It isn't a cakewalk by any means.

..well with Rudes list.

It would..

But time comes into play with those on the list being available...

The top list from WB will be there believe me.

As I said the "game" began with the first post.

Think of it as a NOE raid before the start of the frame ;)

You GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!

If the AH pilots cant come from WBs than that means they are gonna have to be from AW.  The WBs guys are gonna kick the ever liven sh*t outta the AW dweebtards.

Hands down, no contest.

LOL

You could come from X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and still extend/grab on the merge easily enough.  :)

How many of the WB vets have much if any WBIII experience? Big difference. I submit that if you flew WBs before WBIII, then you're not going to have any advantage.

WBII and WBIII are two totally different things.

In the sqd v sqd duel, we just reacted to what the other squad did....had some technique involved re: bracketing, etc....still, most that we faced extended and grabbed out. Half of us would climb out to match the other sqd, the rest would stay low....what can I say...it worked for us.

I'd be willing to bet that most of the guys listed here as "the best" came from AW.

See, now this matches the tactic that I mentioned to Maniac earlier.  WT forgot to mention that part.  :)

Sounds like y'all need an ex-WB vs ex-AW duel first, then send your winning team to take on the WBers.

When all is said and done, I'm sure the end result would be a WB vs ex-WB duel.

Air Warrior. LOL  :p

Nopoop, if y'all would stop jabberin' and get to downloading, you'd have WB installed and running by now.  I'm on a modem, and 35 megs for AH might as well be 200 megs.  Just start the download at night, wake up in the morning and install, like I did.

If you have any questions regarding WB video setup or dot commands, just ask, there'll be plenty of people willing to help, me included.

It could be worse, I actually had to sign up and pay HTC since I tried AH out over a year ago. :)  But what the hell, $15 bucks a month is a great deal.  (Too bad WildBillGates isn't listening...)

After the duel, feel free to delete WB. Again. :)

By the way, I just recently figured out how to switch tanks in AH.  I couldn't figure out why 100% fuel lasted only a few minutes... those aux tanks are shallow!

Next thing... I'll probably find out I've been slinging a couple bombs without knowing it.

50% of mastering a game like this is figuring out the commands. hehe
