Simple, easy build recommendations, please...

Time to think about building a new system.  I'm replacing an Athlon 1800/Geforce3 Ti200 with 512Mb on ASUS A7M mobo.

I'd like to try my hand at building an P4-based system this time - can you guys recommend a good mobo for the P4?  I want stability and ease of setup - gonna try everything from scratch this time - last time I started with a barebone system from Mwave.com.

Also, I wasn't too impressed with Mwave.   A couple of things I bought from them came DOA.     Is Newegg a reputable dealer?

Thanks!

I've had real good results from Newegg.com.  I've ordered different parts on 3 occaisons, and 1 other time ordered enough parts to build an entire system.

Nothing dead out of the box, and one time I had a problem with incompatibility between my Video Card (9700 Pro) and the Motherboard.  First they replaced the video card, and when that didn't help, they let me return the MB and get a different brand/type.

So yes, I recommend Newegg.com from my experience.

PS: But then again, the one time I ordered from Mwave.com things were fine as well.

Oboe, read this: http://www6.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20030707/index.html

I've been using newegg.com for all my PC purchases for over 2 years, and they are awesome. Most of the time, the parts get here a day or two ahead of the schedule arrival time.

I just upgraded my system and used the ASUS P4C800 delux MB.
It had some good reviews, was  easy to setup and comes with some real nice features/utilities.

You can but it online for $179.00 . ..I paid 219.00 at Fry's cause Im lazy .

Little touchy there aren't you rc51... I wasn't  really criticizing you.. and by the way built my first in 1985 and been servicing mini frames (Concurrent) , Motorola 6U/9U racks and PCs since 1982... granted antistatic protection isn't as crucial as it used to be but old habits die hard :)
