There are definitly some issues that need tweeking on this big island map (wow...this is a new thing...err but I digress). As with any new map, its going to take some time to tweak it for best gameplay.
Right now there is a real problem with a multi sector trip for most initial attacks, which does a few things:
Goons are even harder to come by. It takes 30 minutes to get a goon to the base, and in combination with that, you end up getting there just as all your fighter cap is out of gas. Sure this is easy to overcome with squad ops coordination, but a big issue in the chaos that is the MA. Goon drivers are punished and abused more....less goons.....which is never a good thing
A large number of planes are basically useless. Planes with small gas loadouts or high fuel consumption are useless again because of the large distances. We therefore take a map designed to emphasize fleet manuvers and take the number of NON fleet planes down by another factor of 10 because of the long distances making it a P51 F4U F6F Niki a go go arena. 109s La7 and other gas suckers are left out of a majorety of the map (which some think is a bad thing)
This map encourages DEFENSIVE play....it takes SO LONG for even fast planes to get to target, that a vastly inferior force can be used effectively for defense....end result....the map stagnates.
