Hi,

Yes, there are many planes which should add to the AH2.

I hope some day we can get a plane which have highest kill ratio of any WW2 plane type and also highest scoring single airframe.

While it is an impressive plane, I can only find record of 44 of them being placed into service.

Not exactly common...

Indeed, Brewster was used against inferior Soviet planes like Spitfire, Airacobra,  LA-5 etc. http://www.danford.net/scores.htm
 
The low number of planes in FAF service does not make it any worse fighter. There were indeed only 44 planes in FAF service, so the 496 kills make for a 11.3 kills per Brewster average.  There were not too many fighters in the FAF arsenal; in this context the Brewster is quite common...

 The Brewster played a significant part in the Continuation War; without it, the Soviets might have been able to crush the FAF even with their inferior planes. The Brewster was the top fighter in FAF service until Messerschmitt Bf109 G-2 models started arriving in 1943.

In 1943 FAF got 30 (!!!) Bf109G-2:s and their losses were replaced making the total number of FAF G-2:s as high as 48. These 48 G-2:s achieved a total of 259 kills.

Thus... Brewster B-239 in FAF colors was more common, served longer in war time and achieved more kills than the FAF 109G-2 which IS already in Aces High ;)

Brewsters scored kills even as late as in 1944, and even against La-5:s and Yak-9:s.

From what I was reading, it didn't seem like the Finnish pilots had a long training period.  Was the outstanding kill ratio due to superior pilot skill, or was it simply the aircrafts behavior?

Finnish pilots do have a reputation don't they?  By all accounts they seem to have been quite good.

Likely the tactics had something to do with it.  I'd bet any amount that if modeled the Brewster will be as competitive as the F4F or A6m2 in AH--that is, in the MA they will be fodder and hangar queens.  You'll see them, but not bloody much after their first two months service and the Novelty has worn off.  See many Stukas up lately?  I see one every 3 nights or so.  Sometimes go a week without seeing them unless I am in one (perhaps if we put a siren on it . . .).  

Really, there should be two lists for plane wishes:  one for the MA, one for the CT.  For CT and rolling planset arenas, bring on the Brewster.   For the MA the Ki-84 "Frank" makes far more sense.

I for one absolutely love using the historic models in Special Events.  It sort of ruins the ambience when you see the FAF flying F4Fs in place of Brewsters.

I think it would be fun to have some less well known models.

I hate to say it; but the very best (virtual) pilots I'ver met in six years of messing around with this stuff are American; though I've come across aces from most everywhere.


As a (virtual) squad; however; I'll bet you some thing provincial (should I win; for instance; I'll take a Virginia ham; Moggy would do); that the Finns will wipe em all off the map; yea; even Mitsui and his pack of pansy-boy rice burners; (I'm told Brady and Batz have trouble spelling ".wingman leatherboy").

Every event I've ever run; the Finns rool; I have to do stuff so the rest don't get discouraged.

brewster is needed for certain scenarios,but not enough to make it a priority plane...and it wont be ever used in MA
