when shooting at fighters, just fire 2 of them spud cannons at a time, you conserve ammo and extend your flying fun:)

when engaging buffs, give and expect no mercy, sock it to em with everything. i am more afraid of engaging bombers with their defensive 50cals than zooming around in a cloud of red icons trying to catch me.

SA SA and more SA, keep the schwalbe fast and try to get some alt so you can easily dive away from fast cons tracking your 6.

do not use the 262 for HOing if you have plans to fly longer.  all of the other guns have a faster ROF than the 30mms of the 262 and therefore have better chances of hitting u.

get used to landing with 1 engine. find a nice safe medium or large field for the longer runway, make a good approach, pop full flaps, drop your gear, turn off your one good engine when your wheels are about to make contact so you dont yaw upon landing.  when my engine goes asmokin, i turn tail and run for home because i dont have enuff perks to spare for losing a 262.

if hitler didnt hinder the development of the 262, we would all now be speaking german

good luck and have fun with this bird...

163 is a blast to fly....least the 1 time I took 1 up. Bounced a HQ raid and got 2 B-17's + 1 of the escorts (pony). One of the guys on channel 2 gave me some good advice...use bout 30% of fuel to get up to alt and then glide as much as you can. Use fuel as needed during fight then glide for home as best you can. Actually went 1 sec+ and fought then glided 1 1/2sec back to base with enough fuel left to assist in landing (was glider on final). Was so good I haven't tried a 2nd hop:)

As for 262, the plane is joy to fly...just beware of the occasional 262 ace. I'd say fly it as an E fighter between 10-20k. try and keep speed under 500 (you need to work throttle a lot like with spitty). Normally you can engage at will between 400-275 in vertical E fight and then easily extend. It takes a little while for engines to spool up so You dont want to get caught slow at low alt. But with a hard deck in the 8-10k range you'll be fine.

You forgot to add going nose-down to achieve near-Mach. ;)

Fly the Spit V or Seafire II, FM2, Yak9U, 109F4, Ki-61, or 190A8 and you'll have them back in no time.

Skull,

I gotta agree with Yucca. Before you get too carried away in yer new ride make sure you fly the heck out of it in the TA. With a FULL TANK of gas.

Take it up to 25K level off get some speed on. Roll it and pull. See how easy it rriiiiippppss. Run it low, zoom it. Do some break turns, etc.
Dogfight someone else in a 262. Just spend some time getting used to it.

If I'm up in the TA, I'd be happy to fly one with ya.

The key to the 262 is patience.  Look for the perfect gunshot.

For the most part if you're diving or chasing someone, and they make a hard break turn, you have little to no chance of landing hits, so dont try and follow them.   Low six o clock attacks are ideal.

Don't slow down in a furball. Don't try and out-turn anything.  Never follow someone in a split-s at low altitude.  Use the planes zoom to your advantage.  And remember, if you get into trouble, just nose down.

Well... I've lost three of these babies in the last ten days and was laughing each time. What I need to figure out is how to fly it with 1 1/2 wings.
Best fight I had was a low dogfight with a 190. Was a definate TON-o-fun and we both went home alive after about a 10 minute dance.
Definately goto the TA and practice a few landings because those crates take f o r e v e r to slow down.
Usually I never take a perkie up unless I have twice the points. That way you can always take another up right after you loose one.

fuze i think it has something do with the trim of aerolins and rudder. you can fly it straight but not any else if you lose half a wing. i saw 1 guy so it

Just use your rudders to help you turn if you've lost one or both your wingtips/ailerons.
