Tough question, for myself it was when I turned 55....started thinking a bit differently then about life, the end of life and how I can improve one and postpone the other. That's why I stated my priorities have changed from gratification to longevity.
So, it's realy what you think it is for yourself rather than what others think of you as being.
BTW, I'm 10 months shy of 60 but look like I'm younger than 50
Got all my hair that has just started getting a bit grey.

Bad cholesrterol at 102
I run 3 miles in the wet sand 3x a week
I weigh the same as when I seperated from the Army in '72
Have my own teeth, but not all of them
And I'm detirmined to outlive everyone of you people....IRL that is.
