France, August 1944.

It's mid summer, 1944. Germany is being pushed back into France after Normandy landings in June. New aircraft are appearing on the chart, most noticable the Me-262. The new P-51D, P-38L, and the Spitfire XIV are available as well as the Dora.

New aircraft to the front lines are perked with values next in brackets to make sure they're not overused . (Note: Everyone perks will be reset for this tour.)

Fuel 1.0
Dar:
- Sector 75 Miles at 3500ft
- Tower 30 Miles at 1000ft
- Full friendly, tower enemy dar
Downtimes: 30 min AAA, FH/BH/VH 20 mins
Resupply: 5 minutes
All other CT norms

I think the Germans still had some old 109F-4s lying around most fields in late 1944... isn't that right Eagler?

thanks Fork! to bad you threw the spits in there - German/US make for good battles but beats the heck outs the PTO stuff I thought I'd see this weekend

The Stuka taken out of service after the BOB in August 18, 1940 and relegated to the Soviet front. The Bf 110 by Q1 1944 was strictly a night fighter in the H series.

Its another "Normandy" setup with an "Ardennes" plane set. Would be nice to see a June 1944 setup sans the P-51D (just entering service) , Spit XIV (used mainly over G.B. at that time), Tempest (same as XIV), 109G-10 and Dora (neither in service).

I dont mind Ardennes (or call it late fall 44) at all (we have done several) but I like a cross channel 1944 setup with the a/c of the period too.

Also, 2 perks for the P-38L? why?

id guess because of it's attack capibles and it would be not the same odd's with out it perk is my guess:confused: ?

Well I was planning P-38s for squad night, but hey we can do Spit IXs all night long, maybe get the 325th in there too, Spits, Spits, and more Spits...cool. That way the darned uber P-38L is not over used.

We have a 1000fpm UP wind. It's crazy in there, planes flying at 40K+!!!

Yup, D-25 Jugs climbing at 3,900 fpm is whacky. P-51B going up at 4,200 fpm too. Took one to 44k and was still climbing at 600 fpm. Clocked the P-51B at 445 mph level at 18k as well!!!:eek:

Every aircraft in the CT sees about a 1k per minute increase in climb rate. The first wind layer is at 4k. As soon as you pass 4k, your climb rate goes up by nearly 1k per minute.

Fuel burn at 1.0 is interesting. Flew a 50% fuel P-51B to 44k and a total of 10 sectors round trip and still had nearly 20% upon landing. My bladder aches at the mere thought of full tanks.
