You guys can theorize all you want about it being a case of cowardice .. a case of skill ... or both. Chances are you're still not even close to seeing the whole picture.

1: The nature of the game revolves around capturing territory and "winning" the battle (forcing a reset on an opponent).
2: It doesn't actually revolve around engaging an opponent ... whether you survive the engagement .... whether you get the kill .... or not.
3: Most everyone ..... from newbie to vet (most .. not all) ... know this. So trying to shame them into believing something else seldom works.
4: Most here have, at some time or other, logged on and seen friendly territory shrunk down to a half dozen bases or less with everything else getting assaulted at full blast. This tends to inspire one of two reactions ... apathy/logoff .. or ... a resolution to do this back to the other guy with as much frequency as possible. Whether it's "revenge" or whether it's a "pro-active" defense to attempt to assure one's own territory stays pork/vulch free.
5: Some players can attend an academy 24/7 (what fun) and will never become furball blackbelts. Either their bodies (reaction), minds (perception) or hardware (Logitech) can't take it. But if they're having fun anyway ... flying whatever they want, however they want and aren't really concerned about what opposing players think or feel ... then they're probably not going to flock to the lines at the registrar's office, anyhow.
And like Poop's post .... this is just a personal observation.
