Pyro AH2 FAQ update?

Does anyone remember the ****storm surrounding the early pics of the pizza map?

Hell, if I was HT I wouldn't even tell us what was coming until after it had been out a few months.

Folks beg for info, then piss about it as soon as they get it.

That's true in many cases, but I would hope that wouldn't make HTC decide to shelf community updates.   The Pizza map was pretty controversial, as it marked complete break from realistic-looking terrains.    I would think even negative feedback is useful to HTC, unless its just from a couple cranky individuals or is just downright nasty and/or baseless.

So far what little info we've gotten about AH2 seems to be very well received...

All joking aside I think oboe hit it right on.

What I'd love is a short and simple paragraph every week that makes me feel like I'm in on the development of AH2:

Simple informal regular updates would be greatly appreciated by the community. I know I am not speaking for myself, I have heard this from a lot of other players I the last three months. Does not even have to be once a week, but even just once a month would valued.

Pyro please take 30 minutes this week and let us know how things are going.

Yup, gotta agree with daddog.  A simple paragraph would suffice.  Waiting for updates never really bothered me but it's been so long since the last one I've almost forgotten about the excitement of AH; trying new planes/terrains etc.  Just some news may just rekindle some of that! ;)

Err, not really :o .  I haven't really seen any huge complaints about AHII itself so far.  Most of the info has been pretty well received.

believe it or not, most other online games, like a good 80%, do that.   Like take Star Wars Galaxies.   Every week in the forums they do a "Friday Feature" about upcoming features being implemented in the game and bug fixes. like (this is not an actual example)

We understand that there have been many complaints about battlefields being bugged.  We are looking into this, and a fix for this should be out by tuesday.  As you all know, vehicles are to be implemented in the game soon.  Yesterday, we tested a player riding a vehicle for the first time-these should be implemented by next month.

We are fixing many other bugs, but we have also made maintence costs on certain objects and machinery cheaper...(while this is not an actual quote, it usually goes on and on about what changes will be made in the next udpate, and what progress they made this week on major upcoming features)

*punt*

It seems they think they will  be damned if they do and damned if they don't.  I can see why but it's the wrong thing.  Making a reasonable attempt to keep folks informed and involved in the process would be all thats needed to maintain a sense of community and value.

I have heard no whines yet, just nice requests for a bone to be cast to the masses (you know the ones that pay for the sim).

I as well as others are into a big time case of burn out and could use the information to help us "hang in there".

I think this is a fair request, IMHO
