Most Fighter ONLY Kills in One Sortie?

in fighter ace 2  we used to have a weekly "Death bowl match"
Sorta  like the royal rumble here.

anywhere from 50-100 players would participate in these ,
you had to select your load outs, plane, ect.
the arena was set to full realism, with a 20k cap
you entered with an air start and guns were cold /off   for the first 5 mins . every one would scatter in the arena and jocky for posistion .. until the guns went hot then it was a you against the world brawl ... SA  , fuel/ammo management was a must ,,,, you could land at the fields and rearm /repair  but that was always dangerous . this fight went on til there was one surviver and sole winner. (note you had to get kills also to win )

I always liked this event and it left you fighting the best in the end ...

we also had the 20min prebrawl chat room were we tossed taunts/ curses /storys ect at each other ... (no swearing though)

the one thing about the event that messed it up sometimes is when the guys would team up and clear the skys together til the end ... then they had to fight each other. even with the name icons off  you could still figure out were a wingman was .

Status Report 1: If I am reading these posts correctly, here are the leaders in fighter kills after only ONE sortie (NO rearm, NO refuel, landing the kills, no ditches, no chutes, against only fighters airborne and able to defend themselves):

Octavius, F4U-1C, 18
WldThing, P-51 (D or B?), 17
Nomak, P-38, 15
Dead Man Flying, Spit V, 14
HeLLcat, F6F, 13
HeLLcat, 190D9, 13
Roscoroo, P-47D11, 12
GScholz, Ta-152, 11
Tarmac, 190A5, 10

So these eight are the only pilots with 10 or more kills, and only their highest single total score is mentioned except when that is tied with different aircraft (some also have other sorties above 10).  Let me know any corrections needed.

Surprising so far is that all of the top scores (including HeLLcat's 13 with two different aircraft) are with different aircraft.  Most of the leaders flew heavy firepower or good endurance or both.  Which, as some have remarked, makes Dead Man Flying's 14 in a Spit V especially notable.

Keep 'em coming to give people an idea what a single fighter sortie can accomplish against only other fighters airborne and able to defend themselves.

All were fighters in my 13 kill Bf109G10 sortie..

I have gotten 10 or 11 a bunch of times in  G10, G6 or G2, all with single cannon loadout.

9 kills 109f4 last tod  what made it sweeter is 1 was low slow 38 kappa ( got lucky he was slow and low). ITs nice to land alot of kills but if all newbies means nothing. At least to me. Record for 1 sorite as mwrod then nik and landed 24 kills. 28 kills in flack defending a base. and 94 kills panzer the good ol a63 to a1 tank battle.

But kills in a sortie really means about as much as rank does. NOTHING.  caught a ju87 mission once in a 110 and landed 13 kills. landed a 19kills in a20 one sortie but then again m3's easy kills.
And I am about med to barely above avg stick in game. So getting lots of kills in sortie has no bearing how good of a stick you are. Its about same as winning lottery it doesn't make you luckiest person in world someone had to win it.

To me flying for alot of kils in sortie or to get high rank is the most boring time I've had in this sim.  Fun is mixing it up and just have fun. Going for score or k/d is okay for some but boring as hell
to me.

Halo, I've had several missions of over 12 kills, but cannot say that anyopne of them was completely devoid of vulches, or proxies... dunno how anyone could remember the specifics of a mission like that.... wish I had that kind of memory, I'm jealous.  :)
