Honor comes from serving your country!
Let’s forget about the fact that she had multiple surgeries so she could walk again. Would this even be an issue if Lynch was male and not female?

Another good point!!

Remember when Scott Brady got his bellybutton shot down over Bosnia and he was regailed as a hero cause he made it out?

Um, he got shot down... okay.....

And he had to walk a lot..... okay.....

And he DID get shot down......

And HE'S a hero?

I stopped watching the way too massive TV coverage of the Iraqi War Pt II, Attack of the Cameramen, after the Geraldo thing. I knew about this chick being captured, found, rescued, whatever. Good for her, good for the nation, blah blah blah.

Just like a LOT of Americans out there today, I had two combat tours in the U.S. Army Infantry before my 21st birthday.

Surviving combat is simple. Don't be shrecking stupid.

She got screwed up, so what. I got a bucketful of medals from screwing OTHER people up.

A book deal for this is in my opinion a waste of the time of a million people. I hope that Dad DOES ask for a cut of the bread, that ONE of the guys that rescued her ask for a cut.

Remember the chick that got captured right before Iraqi War Pt I (Slobber Donkeys Away)? Can't remember her name, but she was captured right over the Kuwait border and got rescued some time later, had two broken arms on the cover of the Stars and Stripes that I remember. She get a book deal? Not that I know of.

TRUE heros are out there. She is not one. She got hammered, yes. She got captured, yes. Book deal? No.

Give the book deal to the Iraqi dude that lead the rescue team in, or get Tom Clancy to write the story of the rescue team. I'd by that.

Give me a copy of her book for Christmas, and I am using it to light my wood stove.

I thought she couldn't remember anything about the event? How does she manage to write a book?

Makes a joke of the whole sorry episode really. Especially the design for TV special ops rescue. Most entertaining.

What a bunch of crybabys.

I have barely heard any first hand accounts of this war.  Its almost like an information blackout.  If they have to pay some little 20 year old girl a million bucks to tell what happened, then I'm all for it.

I am just curious about the genre of this book. Will it be an autobiography, starting with early-childhood memories? Followed by a story of military training? Or somethinig like that "Rescue-911" TV series?

If THIS is "capitalism", then the company thinks they'll get that million dollars back, with some profit. Or is it some form of charity to avoid taxes?

What is the price of a book in the US now, I mean such a book? How many copies they'll have to sell to get $1M+other expenses?

What about a news story, IIRC published by BBC, saying that all the "liberation" of ms. Lynch was staged? Was it proven to be wrong?

They will easily sell over 1 million books in the US.
