Sounds like the american dollar has inflated quite alot in the last few days....

Of course Lynch needs the money for being the 'actress', which the pentagon made her, albeit without a contract I believe.
I just wonder what kind of a story will be put out.. the real story or the pentagon story.

Anyway.. it was like a sequel for 'wag the dog', in fact the whole iraq's war has been.

Right, but WHAT story? Certainly nothing resembling what actually happened. She's the only one that made it out, and by her own admission, doesn't remember anything. Will it be the Pentagon's rendition, which has clearly become an intentional fabrication, or her rendition - of which she has no recollection?

I just don't see how it can be classified as anything other than a fictional story.

I've started reading that thread, gotten to the 2nd page now. The first inkling of suspicion came from a Hill AF mechanic who dropped a ton of acronyms just to see how she'd respond... and all she ack'd was the firing of the EPU. Hmmmm. And F-16 pilots usually have a college-level education and aren't prone to the horrible misspellings such as "Princess" seems to be. Hmmmm.

I haven't been paying attention to the whole Lynch thing. Whoopy do she was in a hummer and it crashed and she was captured. What about the black girl who got captured with her, or the Hopi(I think it was) girl who got killed? Everyone forgot about them .

dont you people even stop to think that the book (and perhaps upcoming movie) will NOT be based on what happened when they were ambushed but rather about her life before she joined the army, why she joined the army, her basic training, her experiences as she was shipped to iraq and the brief stay she had in iraq, then describe the very little she could remember of the ambush (best we know she was knocked unconcious during the crash)..

and then the other half of the movie be about her CAPTIVITY (a time period she was not unconcious) and the events that took place just before, during and after the rescue?

I say good for her! she went through **** and got out alive thanks to a hellish dose of good luck, $1 million is enough to give her and her family a decent life.

Exactly. That's because (a) Shoshawna and Lori weren't white and (b) 'shawna and Lori weren't hotties. When was the last time Cosmopolitan or Playboy featured overweight black Army cooks and acne-scarred tough girl mechanics on the covers? Answer: never. Its the 19-year-old blond hottie that strokes peoples' imaginations. Jessica HAD to be saved from the Arabs, before they deflowered her virtuous womanhood!

I think a network like Lifetime should at least do a made-for-tv movie about Lori and 'shawna. Lifetime likes good tear-jerkers.

You mean the ones who had their weapons cleaned and ready for combat vs. those that jammed? The ones who know how to set headspace and timing on a M2 (a guess as to the problem) vs. those that didn't, or didn''t keep the weapon at all clean. The ones who knew how to perform immediate action on their weapons vs the ones who didn't?

Gofaster I fully agree that it would be a better movie, but it wouldn't be a particularly inspiring one I'm afraid. It really calls into question the "Two Army" approach we have right now (logistics vs fighters), and is quite a contrast to the performance of the combat arms units.

some of you guys are just bleeding dirty rotten smelly kotex pads from the snatches of some very distasteful whiney beotches.

Heres what Im aware of: a young woman who volunteered for the army ended up going to iraq with 130,000+ other americans.

she got into a army fubar somewhere south of bagdhad and ended up getting smashed pretty severely in a fleeing humvee. she ended up in a iraqi hospital and was repatriated by some sf guys just doing another routine live fire excercise in a foreign country.

i cannot see that she has done anything wrong and if she wants to tell some story then shes got that right.

if miller wants to write a book id love to read it.

After the story which Pentagon (and Bush approved?) gave her without asking it, she should been paid by the US armed forces
