Frame Rate Stinks!!!
« on: October 01, 2003, 05:47:01 PM »
For the Love of Pete!! Can anybody tell me why after 9 months of playing my frame rate is down to 3 maybe 9 going into smoke or during mission. I have always had 40+ or more. This is really frustrating. Also, I lose UDP everytime I log on with in 3 to 5 minutes. Never happened before either.

What is goin on.

I suspect something is running in background, such as a worm or virus, maybe some spyware.  Or you are under some sort of DOS attack.  This would also explain the loss of UDP.

Sudden drops in frame rates are indicative of the CPU being used for something else.  Look in the task manager and see what percentage of CPU is being used by Aces High.  It should be at 99% or better.
My guess is that the percentage percentage will be lower.

Just hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and press the "Task Manager" button, then hit the "Processes" tab to see the list of what is running and a what CPU percentage.

Get a copy of EndItAll - that will close down everything that's not needed - then open AH.  :)

AH uses 98% - 99% on mine.  The other 1% or 2 % go to task manager or CSRSS.EXE.  It seems to be some kind of system file but i am curious if anyone knows what  CSRSS.EXE is.

Thanks,

Process File: csrss or csrss.exe
Process Name: Client/Server Runtime Server Subsystem
Description: The Windows Client Server Runtime Subsystem handles Windows and Graphics Functions for all Subsystems
Common Errors: N/A
System Process: Yes

and there is an old virus which puts itself in the csrss.exe file check it here:

Usually Rundll32 running constantly with high CPU use indicates a virus/trojan/worm is operating on your computer. At other times it is an unfinished installation program wanting to complete its' job.

What scJazz said.  AH should be using 98% or higher, if all things are running correctly.  Something is running on your computer and chewing up CPU time.  Not good!

So should I be concerned if my CPU is not at 98%?  I'm 50% idle running AH and I have stinky frame rates even after driver oprimization and spyware cleaning.
