Ah Dowding....what he said was the right on truth...here in this country, the media hypes many things for many reasons....black quarterbacks and coaches have been actively a part of the NFL and it's owners discussions for years now...the politically correct thing to do.

The media has brought and referenced many times the same point Rush made....his timing and the format were both misplaced....still, the content of what he said cannot be denied. Our media has on many occasions spoke in detail of the criticism by black athletes and coaches along with other groups regarding the inclusion of blacks in the interviewing process, etc. When one does make the position, the media pays specific attention to it.

Having said the above, be it known that while I may agree in concept with some subject matter which Rush engages, I have now and always viewed him as arrogant and simply entertainment on the radio.

To infer that he got 'special treatment' based on the colour of his skin to attain the position he holds, is slanderous. It is unsubstanciated insult. Racist? I'd say denigrating someone based on skin colour, even indirectly as in this case, is racist.

You aren't following things closely enough. He only said the QB was given too much credit by the media for the team's success, not that the QB was unqualified.

Why didn't he get include hyped white QB's? How many years was Jake Plummer a flop in Arizona? Yet he was always hyped. I think if he were to make a general statement of overhyped QB's, you could say his comments were not racist. But he pointed to a black one and mentioned his skin color.

You're funny. He was making the point that the media don't (in his opinion) treat black and white QBs the same. If you are going to use his statement to prove that he is a racist, you have to first use his own words.

Probably... when I was younger and less conscious of the harm it might cause. I don't allow it to be said in my house. Even by my sons to their friends etc.

He did not infer that....he stated clearly, that he had been hyped, not given the position.

His comment was not directed at the player, but rather the media.

You guys get all huffy and enjoy yourselves....some have to have issues I guess...sheesh.

The subject at the time he made the statement was McNabb. And is it racist for Limbaugh to not believe that the media hypes white QB's because of their skin color?

So if Al Sharpton was doing a commentary on the show, and he said Jake Plummer was being hyped by the media because he was white, you would not consider that a racist statement?
