What's happened to the knights?
« on: May 17, 2001, 11:59:00 PM »
This tour I haven't been able to play much due to a ton of work.  Tonight I finally got to log on for about the 3rd time in 2 weeks.

Here's what I found:

What happened to the knights?  The last time I was able to play the numbers were fairly even.

Just like always, I think it has to do with what time you enter the arena.  That, and I hear there was a shortage in Knitland on Leather LuftWaffle panties, which caused a mass migration to other countries that can keep up with demand.

If I log on and find Knight numbers like that, and our radar is down, I simply log off.

Even with numbers like that, we were still able to fight, take a base & have fun.

Staga, I seriously doubt that. From what I heard from the running beta Axis will have a hard stand against the allies... but since LW pilots are superior anyway it does not matterl...

BTW, read Santas thread...

I noticed that the Allied squads in WWIIOL out number the Axis about 2-1.

I had the same concern, but who knows how it will shape up after release.

Actually the numbers werent that lopsided when I first logged on, but the Knit radar went down and then the Knits started dropping like flies.

Not good for any country, or HTC business for that matter.

I've played AH so little this tour that I was kind of surprised to see this.  It wasn't much fun getting gangbanged with no radar and only 4 bases.  When I was online we did manage to take a base, but with only 19 people online we didn't stand a chance.  After a couple sorties I got thinking about how much work I had (have   ) left to do and decided I was just wasting time.

I hope HTC comes up with some way to discourage this in the future.  (Give lots of perk points to the underdogs when they take a base or get a kill?   )  Something needs to be done though.

Complete removal of all radar is just bad.  Folks will log out.  Heck I'll log out.  I'm not interested in wandering around looking for guys to fight.

Dropping HQ should shut down arena-wide radar, but we should still have radar close to any active fields.  Drop the radar at the field, and lose dot radar.  We should NEVER be without a dar bar at least near fields we still own.

Some sort of bonuses to compensate for being heavily out-numbered would be good.  Free perk planes, etc.  More perkies to the downtroden... whatever.  Just something to make the losing side attractive to folks.  Do that, and the numbers will tend to balance out more I think.

BTW, had a BLAST last night defending A1.  An absolutely HUGE furball went on for an hour or more.  The Biscuits had a CV out E of the field far enough away that the fighting took place away from acks and both sides had some altitude.  There were times when the Bish attacked and drove us back near our ack, but overall there was just a really nice big furball.  Sweet!
