Same goes for the other three GVs he kills, and then his fun's over.

A fully loaded P-38 can take out at least 5 V bases hangers.  All you need are two 1,000 pound bombs and 10 rockets and a full gun load.  Drop a bomb each on a V base hanger and use the rockets on a third hanger.  Provided you don't get jumped by a fighter or decided to strafe the other targets at a V base, you should have enough ammo to strafe two V base hangers to destruction.  It's one of the reasons why the P-38 is one of the better planes to take to Dweeb City.  You can wipe out most of the enemy V bases in one pass and then sit back and enjoy the whines.

There seems to be a section of dedicated spawncampers which I feel ruins the fun for those that just wanna drive around a gv and have a bit of a shooting match.  Since many noobs use GVs just to get a feel for the game before they get more adventurous then is it fair that some guy whos been in AH long enough to know better, sits at the spawn point a repeatedly kills him and then happliy accepts the laurels when he lands his 20 kills in a panzer?  Perhaps players should be able to choose where to spawn so that the campers dont have a fixed spawnpoint to sit at?

I never go to tanktown, no interest whatsoever, but to those that tell others not to fly planes there, I say, when u pay their 15 bucks then u can tell em where they can and cant fly. Yeah Toad, when they give is a gv, buff free fighter zone, then ill support their gv only zone too:)

Well as promised, I flew out there last night.  But it wasn't to pop tanks for perkies and steal the fun from the GV guys.  Actually I had a great time....upped a P-51B with 100% gas, plus rockets & 500 pound bombs and worked *with* my GV teammates to call locations or be on standby to assist.  I was asked to intercept an M3 trying to resupply a Tiger twice and did so.  Also played spotter for one or two panzers that were buried between buildings.

Maybe the original post was about planes that steal the action...or just show up, I'm not sure.  I was real careful not to steal kills and such, and simply acted as a nifty little forward air controller.  When I was low on fuel and rtb'd, I was thanked for my efforts...so I think the balance I tried to maintain worked out good.

the whole point of tank town is the same as the rest of the area... capturing bases. Killing a VH is how you do this. ;)

Grizzly reads first paragraph, then reads the second, scratches head and groans.

So as long as I pay my taxes nobody better tell me what I can or can't do. This sounds like the anthem of the Anarchist Party. Hell... why even pay taxes or HTC dues... just cheat and steal the service.

Many talk of games like AH as being at some level above others, like Quake. Certainly the average age level of AH players must be much higher. And I would assume the average standard of living of AH players is a bit higher also. Many of you are professionals and businessmen and entrepreneurs. Thus I expect a bit more common sense and judgement from the AH community.

Sure, taunting is fun, and knowing you are pissing other players off is fun too. But there *should* be limits and standards of some type imposed by the community. This isn't HiTech or Skuzzy's responsibility, it's ours.

Some things go beyond fun. Some things can ruin the game for others. Some players enjoy doing this... a few have indicated so in this thread. It's our responsibility to speak up and put these griefers in their place.

Yes, they pay their $15, but their conduct can deprive others from getting what they pay for. Their conduct can turn away new players before they have had a chance to learn what AH is really about.

Recently a specialist doctor pretty much saved my life with an operation. In talking to him later, he discovered my hobby, indicated an interest and said he'd look into AH. It would be great to get more people like this involved, but I doubt he would stay online more than a minute after running into some of the yahoos we see there.

I don't really mind the planes at TT, it's fun killing them with a pindle gun. But destroying the enemy VHs and camping on the single spawn point they have left is a pretty damned crappy thing to do. Every community needs some basic standards. We can never stop people from doing things that hurt the game, but we can let it be known what we think of them. Humiliation is our only weapon.

GV's
After reading all the threads about people whining about aircraft in tank down. You guys whine about bombs falling on your head, but us pilots are supposed to accept it when you GV's sit at the end of a runway and take out planes as they spawn. Or use your "spawn 20 miles away from your VH" advantage and pop up near a field and kill aircraft as they are landing or taking off. I think if we pilots can put up with that then you guys can handle the occaisional aircraft flying into tank town and dropping a bomb or two. You guys will see me in there for sure now that I know it upsets you. I think I will make it a point to be there. Thank you for your time

HOLY COW!!!    I never expected to see this kind of reaction.
I was blowing off some steam because right after I upped at a VH,
guess who comes in and takes it down? Wolfala in his 38. BTW
Wolf, I salute you for admitting you HOed me.
:aok

Furious, I'm still laughing about your reply.

Pei, you have a good point, so why include GVs IF it's only
supposed to be a Flight Sim?

I like to try all aspects of any game I play (yeah yeah I'm doing
ALOT of tanking these last 2 tours) and I am sure others do the
same. Just glad this game has the people playing it that we do.
