Hah!  Finally!  Only until recently I've found others locally who can do this.

If you want more info go here:  http://www.lucidity.com and check out the FAQ

A VERY good book written by one of the pioneers of Lucid Dreaming, check out this:  Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, by Stephen LaBerge

I've been reading and practicing this for several years now.  Dreaming has always fascinated me.  I'm sure many have had a lucid dream in their lifetime without trying to directly induce one... most likely when they were children.

There's plenty of information out there.  I'll try to dig up a few of my links.

Dream recall is essential.  There are techniques you can use to increase your memory of dreaming.

1)  Atleast 8 hours of sleep is needed.  You dream at different invervals throughout the night called REM periods (rapid eye movement).  REM sleep happens more and more frequently as the night goes on (hour T+4, +5, +6, etc) and each cycle lasts about a half hour to an hour.  For example, if you were to fall asleep at 10pm, you'll be having REM periods back to back around 5-6am.  If you only catch 6-7 hours of sleep, your chances of remembering any dreams are halved.

2)  Journal:  Try keeping a journal of your dreams.  Anything, even if it's just a tiny spec of info that you remember, write it down.  This will help to find patterns and reoccuring themes/objects/people in your dreams.

3)  If you awaken naturally (without an alarm or something external waking you up), try to remain calm and dont move a muscle.  Sit there and remember what just happened;  where you were, what you were doing, what was happening.  THEN write it down :)

Oh, and Turkey + B-vitamins help a lot :)

set your first alarm 15/20 earlier than you need to get up

when that one goes off, turn it off and doze til next alarm goes off

in those 15/20 minuntes you should dream and be awaken in the middle of it

it helps if you are awaken during the dream cycle to recall it

everyone dreams, part of natural sleep. some just don't remember it

drinking/bonging will hinder, if not totally prevent, your dream recall

I've had lucid dreams most of my life, and occasionally I can extert some control over them. I'll try out some of the techniques on that website and see what happens.

I'll have to check that site out...I tend to get 8 hours sleep a night on average.  My problem has always been if my dream is real or deja-vu..as I have that quite often.  I have no idea why, just do.  Kinda irks me if I have a nightmare...omg..is this coming true?  Ya know?

Any of your research mention deja vu related stuff?

I have the same problem Le Paul. I've had dreams that I've written down that have actually taken place later on. It's weird though how some have an odd twist to them. Those you know won't happen verbatim but might hold a certain meaning. Like last night I had a dream where I was driving like a madman in the truck on and off road at high speed with the Wife and in-laws onboard. I know that is not going to come true because my driving habits rival those of some old folks I know. On the other hand, when I started watching ticker symbols and monitoring the market before I jumped in I had a dream. A certain symbol would double within 2 weeks. I told my boss and said you need to buy this one, ofcourse he laughed. 2 weeks later he was crying. Sometimes it can be hard to tell which ones are going to happen and rarely if ever, when. Sadly I haven't had a similar dream since.
The ones that do come true seem to by life altering events most of the time, occasionaly leading up to a crossroads where a decision must be made.
