Something in the 280-350mm range might be nice. Position them on circular tracks at several points on each map and treat them like vehicle bases with maprooms and strats to disable and/or capture.

I was thinking they could be equipped with the 'land mode' feature as our naval guns currently are. Then the gun would traverse automatically and level itself to the proper elevation. If they were extremely generous over at HTC, they might even give us the famous Dora battery, which ran on double-tracks and fired seven ton, 800mm projectiles. These guns were used on a limited basis on the Eastern front, namely during the siege of Sevastepol, but were widely regarded as an unforgiveable misappropriation of manpower. Each battery required over a thousand troops and technicians to maintain and operate and could only deliver a shell or so an hour. Still, pretty impressive and still the biggest artillery piece ever fielded in combat.

Do you wish to include the 3 weeks it took to setup this mamouth siege weapon? In the time it would've taken, countless whine's would've been recorded as we wanted fester's MA, and were thrown back to Pizza and Big Isles. God help us...

I would be happy if they had a few "manable" flak guns on the trains.

Well, if they let any old schmo take control of a Carrier group and sail it in circles, I think they can let us go with a quicker set-up/fire period than was historically accurate. Either way, I know it's a far-fetched request... BTW wolf, nice avatar. Why are you on probation??

before Ah changed the guns on trains.. you should fly near one...lol they were worse than rail guns.. was the deadliest train i went near.. but they lowered the power of it now

Those trains were really awsome! unless you're in a 262 or a heavy jug with some speed/ordnance you're doomed against that beast!

(btw, don't ever drive on the rails with a tank....believe me...)

350mm is still a lower caliber than a 16" naval gun, and battleships have almost a dozen of them. The railway gun concept isn't very useful.

well, the fleet can't shoot very far land inwards. It would be usefull to have a gun like that far away from shore

AH does not have a battleship , it has a cruiser, i think the big guns are 8".

Battlecruisers typically have similar armament to Battleships, but have thinner armor and are faster. The ship we have in AH can't be just a Cruiser, they mainly only carried 4" - 6" guns and were smaller than what we have.

The Cruiser we have here in AH is a US Baltimore Class Heavy Crusier (CA) with 8 inch Guns.

What's a normal cruising speed for a fleet in those days? I got the impression that it always sails at full battle speed

Usual fleet cruising speed was in the 20 - 25 Knot range depending on sea conditions. The Cruisers and Carriers had a top speed of 33 Knots but usually didn't move that fast unless the enemy was about or they were launching or recovering aircraft.

You are correct, the fleets here are at "Full Throttle" all the time. It is all a PT Boat can do to keep up and I have tested it - they will out run a torpedo fired in the same direction!
