He also really wanted to join The Few but we warned him that if Bruv was to make a sudden turn it would snap Tobias' neck like a twig. Tobias' gayesque obsession with The Few and Top Gun sounded very similar to Midway but a little more crude.

I speak spanish and a smattering of Deutsch. Haven't had the opportunity to talk to any native Germans, but the people from Mexico I've talked to say my accent isn't too atrocious :neener:.

Sad, I was hoping for a good fight. You didn't even have anything to do with that conversation til you went ape-shat on 200 cause I called him out.
Just for clarification, when I commend you guys for ganging and picking on 200, it's not saying "I'm better than you" but instead saying "If you guys are as good as you keep telling everyone you are, why fly like that?"

Yes, this is silly. FWIW, the first I heard of that was when I came back after waiting in the DA, and you finally came back and said you were ready....30 min later. By then it was 4AM, and heck yeh I was tired of waiting. If you said it earlier, it musta been on 200 cause it wasn't by PM, and I can't see 200 when I'm sittin in the tower in the DA.

I have flown with them and have not experienced hardly anything that most of you are accusing them or their squad of........
they do use some decent wingman tactics and they are wanting to get better............. and while talking with DrBone his desires is to be a friendly and cohesive squad that others will receive as good comrades who are fun to fly and work with......
one of you posted about the general everyday BS posts ...... ( think they said run of muck?? ) ........ that happen in almost every single thread on these boards no matter which forum it is.....
After talking to DrBone and even TnDep, I would think more along the lines as them being more like the Loose Duece squadron or the AK's, or even the 412th Mustangs............ by the way they work with each other in the arenas.......
some of you posted that they are always in a horde, or they fly in the safety of the horde...... I personally never saw that..... I saw them flying as 3 to 6 squadmates who would engage even or more opponents and leave the area with no opposing danger..... thus seeing the text buffer load up with multiple kills for each squad member.......
This is nothing new......... the Loose Duece do this, the AK's have, the 412th, the Muppets, the Rolling Thunder, etc......... eventually the harassing will probably wear off except for those that are insecure about themselves and can not accept losing a cartoon fight to any of them...
then you will see BS posts on these boards....... just as always about one squad or another....

I think the only way for a player to avoid becoming the subject of this or similar "BS" on boards and/or in game is to be a flying target drone while staying away from any base that might be captured by your side. Also quickly head home when the sector is having more than one green con in it, as else you will be identified as a 'hoarder'

Just for the record I'll say this: I've never had a problem with DrBone, or for that matter any of the rest of his squad save for two individuals, one more than the other, and have the highest respect for Bone and the rest of them (putting aside Bone's comments towards me on 200 over the past 2 weeks - whether it was "trolling" or not). My comments were in no way a "bash" on TG.....
I truly have no problem falling to the guns of a gang of anyone, most likely I put myself in that situation in the first place so I accept a lot of the fault for allowing it to happen. I actually tried the "stay timid, stay alive, practice good 'squad tactics'**, and fly a uber LW aircraft to rack up an awesome k/d" once, lasted about 3 weeks into a tour. I flew nothing but a Temp in fighter mode, picked, and avoided risks as much as I could. For 3 weeks I managed about a 20:1 k/d doing that, and was bored out of my mind, so I spent the rest of the tour ruining that average just having fun. I even made the comment to several squaddies that at that time I was a perfect example of how an "average" pilot could manipulate score to make himself look a lot better than he actually is by flying in that manner.
I myself have ganged, picked, and flown timid. I confess it. That being said, if I'm being ganged 3v1, don't cry on 200 when I shoot your K4 in the face if you try to fly in and make it 4v1. I have a feeling that's part of the reason we have this entire thread derailment... in my opinion HOing in that situation is absolutely no worse than ganging, maybe deserved... But I digress.
I'm willing to bury the hatchet if you are, TnDep. I've never claimed to be anything but an average stick, contrary to your claims - I have no idea where you got all that. You've made it clear numerous times both on 200 and here that you're better than me, I'm fine with that. I'll still DA you, just so you can confirm how bad I am. ;)
** on the subject of "squad tactics" I wonder this: Why is it that if 3, 4 or 5 friendlies who are not otherwise affiliated all dive in on 1 con while he is engaged to a single friendly, it is referred to as "gangtarding" yet if all or most of the 3, 4 or 5 attackers are in the same squad it is considered "good squad tactics?" :headscratch:

if one was already engaged with the bogey........... depending on how good or how bad the squadmate was doing would be the deciding factor in if it was necessary for 1 other squadmate to come in...... then their is the skill level factor of the 1st one in to help the squaddie already in the fight, it might be beneficial to send in a backup wingman....... something like this would be hard to factor or discuss, just going by generics........

Hmm, I already said that Tobias was Grizz and of course we all know Grizz is Fester according to FlyinFin. Thus with three personalities, Grizz/Fester/Tobias would have to divide his flying time between all three personalities. This would make him a security risk and run the risk of revealing where our stash's of p0rn are located which would lower squad morale. Obviously we would be forced to take drastic measures to prevent this. Otherwise our vast vault of p0rn would destabilize the world market and throw the world into an even worse depression.

Thank you TC...I was for one month. Then, Sunbat banished me to fly with the Drunken Church Ladies as punishment for saying I wouldn't pee on him if he caught on fire. I meant it from a sanitary standpoint and he took it wrong. I'm back but I lost 30 days of travel pay and sick leave...I do not warrant hazardous duty pay for obvious reasons...

** on the subject of "squad tactics" I wonder this: Why is it that if 3, 4 or 5 friendlies who are not otherwise affiliated all dive in on 1 con while he is engaged to a single friendly, it is referred to as "gangtarding" yet if all or most of the 3, 4 or 5 attackers are in the same squad it is considered "good squad tactics?" :headscratch:

The majority of 'Squad' tactics I have experienced in terms to air combat is this...
1) one plane engages another, (perceived temporary 1v1).
2) that plane loses the advantage, and crys for help
3) The losing plane runs waiting hoping his squad dives down to bnz or gang the defender before he/she is killed.
To sum up, basically its not much of a well thought out 'tactic' and if the 'squad' is placed in a situation where the numerical adv is not in their favor, they either run or get the piss kicked out of them.
IMHO most claims of 'squad tactics' are little more than I called for you to get ganged because you were going to beat the piss out of me. So to place it on a pedestal is stupid, as it doesn't belong there.
Now, when groups actually work together in wingman pairs, which I have seen on rare occasion, well that's different, but you can easily tell the difference, usually right off the bat, but then they are usually not the ones claiming to be liberally using 'squad tactics' either.
