When is HTC going to publicly make examples of these people.
Gaming scores in this fashion used to be a somewhat 'rare' occurrence. Now we are seeing wide spread behavior of this utter lameness. Look at how many players/squads have been "outed" in the past month or two? Let alone how many were never discovered.
I sure wish HTC will step in and DO something about it. PUBLICLY!. (well past time) It is because of people like this the that score/rank system is meaningless. One would think that Dale would want the score/rank system to mean something, as opposed to the utter joke players like this have made it.
Their scores should be deleted and some sort of "probation" should go into effect where they can't use the score system for 90 days or some such thing. (possibly wipe out their perk points... dunno what, but SOMETHING) If there is no consequences for this type of action, then the players will think "HTC doesn't seem to care if we do this, so it must be 'OK' to do".
Not sure why anybody is surprised about Masons. I've had him pegged for this exact type of behaviour from the get go.

If HTC gets proof of such behaviour (not via BBS!), they do lose score & perks. It's just not made public.

I know they will wipe their scores, but it's very "hush hush" and this type of behavior goes on. (I would say this type of behavior has accelerated)
If someone stole something, and the police just privately took the item back and that was the end of it, we would have thefts galore, as there is really no consequence to the action.
Because they wipe the scores they obviously feel that this type of behavior is wrong. Why not come right out and do something that will make people think twice about exhibiting this behaviour? I am talking about making some examples, and doing it publicly.

Or if we agree that 'public' might not be the best thing PR wise, is there an appropriate punishment?
Merely wiping their scores does nothing to stop the behavior in the future as we are seeing some of the same people doing this over and over again. Not only that, it appears they are now enlisting others.
So what would be a good punishment for this? Scores don't work for 90 days? Loss of all perk points? We are somewhat limited in choice so what could be done to prevent future behavior of this sort?
(edit: after some thought, making this behavior Public doesn't really do anything, because you have to have some self esteem for that to have any affect on ya', and these people are obviously lacking in self worth or they wouldn't be doing this in the first place)

How about creating a "Cheaters Arena"? Those caught can't play anywhere else but there. If they don't like that, they can leave. I would like to see some sort of 8-player or maybe 16-player arenas. 8 on 8 furballs or 8 on 8 landgrabing would be fun. At least you would be able to play the game with people with similar gaming interests. The HOing, picking, running and hording in the MA is starting to get kinda stale IMHO.

I like it. Or if a squad is found to have 2 members or more doing this the squad is automatically disbanded. I don't think to many legit CO'S would tolerate this & would put an end to it to keep a squad intact.

Many have had the suspicion that this has been going on for some time and we just didn't have the means to prove it, I know its hard to believe that someone would game this way but certainly there were more than you could imagine doing it in the past, hopefully this public grilling will help alleviate it along with HTC's heavy hand.

Not really different from a plan to pay for perk points (which would be an excellent revenue stream)
I fly the P38 99.9% of the time so I don't really care about perks. I only fly about 10 hours a months so "score" is meaningless.
But if some guys get together and pay to "shade vulch" I say cap their perks at some reasonable value and let them do it. Its a money maker.
Hell, if I was running HTC I'd put a "perk" farm in every terrain and charge a penny a point. Imagine an airstart 10,000 feet over rows and rows of parked C-47's with all three chess pieces spawning in a mile apart.

I completely agree with Helm. These guys suck. And Outlaws had the nerve to call me sad and no skilled when I ran my oil hit 51 from his spit16 after he ho-ed me. He said I ho-ed him. That's how all this started. I thought that anyone ranked #9 in fighters and flying a spit16 wouldn't pull up into me like he did, and jeapordize a death. But now I can see why he didn't care.
I'm not sure, but I think Outlaws1 and Legend are JohnnyRa and JohnnyJr.These guys IMO (whoever they are) should be banned from the game. They've always been cheating,shady scum. It's really sad HTC can't figure out how to deal with them and this ongoing problem.
MasonZ I thought was a cool kid. I think he let these slick talkin' "uber gamers" talk him into something stupid. A case of "kid fell into the wrong crowd". :salute

What we should do is whatever country the outlaws are flying, tip them off to the others and we kill them plenty of times to frustrate them. All that cheating for nothing.

first offense... loss of perks,

on a side note, a few days ago outlaw and mazons where ganging and Vulching on the center Island, and than running off at the mouth, bragging how he(outlaws) killed me, while having no less than two friendlies helping him, while I was solo, than I say to try that "alone" haha, no go.
I knew that day they were chumps, and are definitely put on a long list of chumps that are red to me even when they are green.

What if, along with loss of perks and inability to add more perks for a time, after the second time (one mistake is all anyone should get) they commit such an infraction, they lose the ability to fly anything with an ENY lower than 20 for a significant period of time. After all, they want to fly and do anything they want, any time they want. They could still play (which would just might keep them paying their $15 to HTC), but be severly limited in aircraft for a while. Heck, if they stick with it through the punishment period they might even learn how to fly and not need to game the score. Ahh, but we can dream.

I've always enjoyed the scoring system and have strived to improve ever tour in fighter mode, not to move myself up the ranks, but move the 412th up. IMHO the 412th is the premiere P51 squad, bar none. And I'd like the record to show that. I'm damn proud of all the guys in the 412th because we truly are best as a unit. We try to fight fair,clean,smart and honest. Guys like Outlaws and Legend spit in the face of all the hard work, time and training that Midnight,Tango, SkatSr and the rest of us have put forth to be good at our silly hobbie.
How else do we judge our progress if not by a honest scoring page? SkatSr is ranked in the top 10 in fighters, a couple ranked under 50 and a few under 100. If anyone of them have a shot at the #1 spot I want the record to show it and not be clouded by filth like outlaws and legend.
Sure, AH2 is a silly video game. But it's our game and we all love it. If nothing else it represents how a group of guys from all over the world can work together on a common goal and have fun doing it. And if we are good at it, I want the world to know we're doing it right and our system and tactics works.
I don't know. Maybe I'm just old and still believe that honesty and hard work is the way to go, in anything you want to do in life no matter how trivial....even in a video game. :salute

I think AH should force them to we a scarlet letter on their plane skin. Say "A" for "adulterer" or whatever. Make them fly around in it for a month or two, and everytime its seen team members should rat out its location and Alt and give the other teams free passage to murder it.

LOL...for the inquiring minds out there. OutLaws1 is one and the same as TienLung. I was thinking to myself a looong time ago saying "there's a lot of lying going on under that account." It's never one person it's always "Oh thats my brother," "Oh, thats my sister," "Oh, bla bla bla." I've had mixed feelings about OutLaws: Sometimes he/she was ok, other times he/she was a total dork. This really puts the icing on the cake.

Was really expecting more Sapp guys to jump in and defend or criticize. Some of the other AH members did stick up for this young man believing him to have been mislead and that weighed heavy but even so, he should know better. I would imagine SAPP has a certain critique they follow to become part of their organization. Not everyone can get that special gun sight. :lol
The two johnnies has always been a different story along with so many more that have infiltrated the game with their child like rudeness.

SAPP deals with this internally. That is all that will be said about that.
For the record... S.A.P.P. is not a Squad. We are just a rag tag bunch of folks that love the 38. Both in game and historically. Many individuals in SAPP are members of Squads and they come from all chess pieces. SAPP is a place where we can gather and share the history as well as tactics used and training. It is also a place where we can setup gatherings in game for mindless fun. We don't gather to affect game play other than to have lots of fun.

Lusche helps people just by doing what he does on this forum let alone from his work as a trainer- he certainly does not need to defend himself.
You on the other hand should search deep within yourself on what this sort of behavior demonstrates about yourself as a human being. What you do during your play time is an indication of what you will do in business, work, school, everything else. Use this as an opportunity to make yourself a better human being. Integrity and not just taking the easy way out when you can, is part of that.

Witch hunts like these do far more harm than good. If the new scores pages are going to be abused in this manner, they can be taken down.
If you suspect someone of perk farming or gaming the score system, then simply drop me an email. This public outcry has to stop now.

Okay, let me add this. Many years ago another player and I were battling it out for the #1 fighter in Air Warriors. One day while flying I noticed one of his squadies was getting shot down repeatedly. While I was flying I saw a lone plane on the deck rtb. He asked me not to attack because he had a boat load of kills. It was the guy I had been duking it out with for the #1 spot. So I let him go. He then landed 12 kills and we didn't have a rearm pad. So I checked out the after action reports. He had been shooting down his own squadie. He finished #1 but the toll was great. Shortly thereafter he quit playing. I think it was because he couldn't take the fact he took such a short cut to do it. Now I often think that he ruined the game for himself. And honestly I liked the guy. He was a worthy opponent and generally a fun guy to talk to.
Don't let that happen to you. Take the measures you can to correct it. Make the apologies as best as you can and move on. In 3 months no one will no the better.

I say here is what we can do: Instead of banning the dweeb, let's have fun with him and all cheaters.
Whoever is caught cheating (confirmed by HItech), then for 2 weeks HItech turns off kill-shooting for the dweeb. Also, his enemy icon status shows his game ID instead of the plane type. GameID's can't be changed during that period.
This 2 prong approach brings his ranking down and frustrates him. It will teach all a lesson on the consequences of cheating.

Why would HTC care about his killing his own account? What is the incentive for them to do anything more than what they do now? If they ban him, they loose money. If they penalize him, they risk loosing the player and, his money.
This is a great community but I don't believe that HT and gang want to keep it running for free.
Report your findings, let them deal with the scoring issues and be done with it.

1 of the quickest ways for a game to die is for admins/creators to do nothing about cheats and crap like this.
i stopped played a game i loved a few years back due to cheats, and i would not think to hard about quiting another game either.

At the end of the day it's rare to come across a high ranker who can put up a decent fight. Too get into those top spots people nurse their scores and milkrun. IMHO the best fights are always with mid-tiered ranks.
I figure people like masonz, and these other guys have other significant issues in their lives - if their aspirations are to resort to cheating in an online cartoon plane game to gain status, then they must have very very sad lives.

Yup, outlaws was just in there and sent his shade to the opposite front where the #'s dude was bailing at a rate of like 30-40 times a minute giving others huge kill tallies to try to deflect the blame. So sad.
Best thing was he was denying the whole thing.

It was his account, both of them, right? These accounts are both paid for, right?
Why would HTC care about his killing his own account? What is the incentive for them to do anything more than what they do now? If they ban him, they loose money. If they penalize him, they risk loosing the player and, his money.
This is a great community but I don't believe that HT and gang want to keep it running for free.
Report your findings, let them deal with the scoring issues and be done with it.

1 of the quickest ways for a game to die is for admins/creators to do nothing about cheats and crap like this.
That's just it. They DO do something. They take care of it behind their closed doors, privately. There is no good to come from public cyber-lynching. HTC has always done a great job of policing their game.

11220501 showed up at A39, where I was, in B24s and 25s unloading his guns on the runway and bailing as soon as he got gear up. then he whistles real load on range for a few seconds to just be annoying.
Then a hour later i see on local text that a guy just started today has 6 kills on some #guy. I checked the roster and sure enough, he switched to bish and started upping from the very base we were attacking. This clown is a real piece of work.

I had a "run-in" with Outlaws1 back in July. We got into it on ch200 and ended up in the DA. The upshot was he sent films to HTC accusing me of cheating. ME!! :rofl If I was capable of cheating, does anyone believe I would suck as bad as I do??? :rolleyes: I am very surprised to find that he is an experienced player....I really did think he was just another mouthy newbie (no offense, Newbie :D). Just goes to show....you never can tell.

BTW, this isn't "cheating". It is manipulating the scoring system. I guarantee that cheating is the ONLY thing that HT frowns upon more than jerking his scoring system around....and no, HTC doesn't advertise how and when they deal with crap like this. In hindsight I do wish I had emailed HTC instead of bringing it to th BBS because I didn't know about what Skuzzy said about the "witch hunt threads", until I seen it quoted here. But that's the only reason I feel I should have to regret anything. And I don't understand why you think the posting of this information is worse then what they are doing though.
What I think is bad for business is to allow this activity to go on tour after tour. Do you not think this will run off a player base that just wants a fair game?
I don't know if I'd call it cheating, but surely you agree it's unethical at best.
Just so you and HTC knows, I will address future revelations such as this via email to HTC and squadies only. When I stumbled upon this it must have been 2am. I was tired and not thinking clearly. I became outraged at the findings and made a mistake by publishing this on a public forum. For that I apologize. :salute

Yup, outlaws was just in there and sent his shade to the opposite front where the #'s dude was bailing at a rate of like 30-40 times a minute giving others huge kill tallies to try to deflect the blame. So sad.

I might be totally off here, somebody correct me if I am, but, Skuzzy's message referring to the "witch hunts" were in regards to a questionable accusation on somebody who he deemed wasn't shade vulching. :noid At that time also there was an active witch hunt going on with everybody's stats being examined and anybody in question would get mentioned and this went on for like a solid week straight. Is that really the case here? This is clear cut with an admission of guilt already. If some guys are going to blatantly shade vulch over 600 times, I think everybody has the right to know about it, and the character of those who they fly with/against and give respect to. It's not about score, it's about integrity which is far more important.

i see it all the time. one of my best friends has 3 boys.......#1 is now living in Camden unmarried with a newborn...and no job. #2 hasn't held a job for more than a month, and is a habitual thief. #3 is incredibly overweight,(as in well over 300# and only 5'2), and very very two faced.
mom keeps telling dad that their his responsibility. dad keeps telling mom their hers. so neither one of em spends time, and next ya know, their doing stupid stuff. BTW...#1 and #2 both dropped outta school. before they did, they transferred from school to school many times. so far #3 is still in school i think..i haven't talked to them in a couple months.
this isn't the only example i see of this. customers come in......their kids are like animals, and the cars are destroyed inside due to the kids behavior. then there's the parents that come in, the kids are very well behaved, and respectful. their cars are nice inside....due to their kids behavior.

He did also say that all accusations should be made via email and this is not the correct place, also indicating that this is what he was referring to.
Those quotes I gave were from the same post and in that order not mixed and matched.
I am not really trying to moderate here, simply giving a little warning in case everyone forgot, take it as you will though for I am sure that Skuzzy will let us know if this thread is indeed over the line or not.
I personally don't want to push the line though since I like the new stat pages for personal stats and not for these purposes.

relationship goes wrong with kids involved it usually goes very wrong and the kids are the ones that suffer for it and
life isn't always perfect and people don't always stay together for whatever reason. Parenting is a very tough job the hardest imo.

Once caught amsoil owned up, he knows what he did was wrong. Amsoil could have changed his ID and started afresh but chose not to, even though i believe what he did was totally unacceptable i think it is highly commendable that he retained his name. He knows his reputation is tarnished from what he did, but has chosen to attempt to rebuild it. I'm not sure how i would react in the same situation.
Outlaws1 however is in complete denial of any wrong doing and was demanding proof on 200, despite several people letting him know that the odds of killing someone over 200 times in a single tour is highly unlikely.

A possible solution to this is a score blackout for the offenders. No score, no perks, no name in lights when landing kills. First offense one month, second offense 3 months, third offense 12 months. Programming it is probably not so easy though.

I have to say 1 thing. Outlaws invited me and a fellow AH member to his squad. I had no idea what he was doing until yesterday. My fellow squadie bailed cause the embarassment. We might not all "like" each other but the integrity of the game needs to stay intact so here it goes:
Fact: Outlaws1 is really AADeisel
Fact: AADiesel hacked his file and got banned
Fact: Outlaws1 purchased software to change his IP address and anything to trace him(Do not know if this is possible but he told me)
Fact: Outlaws1 was using sound software to disguise his voice
Fact: Outlaws1 had a secondary acct. to "PAD HIS SCORE"
Outlaws1 may be a good pilot but I have seen him get in furballs that even Shawk would get into and get killed(Sorry Shawk tryin to make a point) and he came out with 5 or more kills. I understand this is possible but given the evidence I think he found a way around to alter something in the game(I have no idea if this game uses anything like punkbuster. There are ways around Punkbuster). This guy hardly gets killed in pretty heavy furballs.
The deal about the money he pays Hi Tec should be a non issue. The game may lose more than 2 accts. due to certain individuals working around some of the community standards. The boot would certainly be my vote.
Some of us make posts about "Cherry Picking" and not to kill hangers or not take a CV down really simplifies the nature of some individuals who really DO NOT CARE why the majority of us play Aces High. Most of us play to take bases and win the map. Some of us go on bombing milk runs to raise their score or take M3's to ammo/radar factories to destroy buildings to pad score and get perkie points(What talent this is!).
To me the game is to work as a team and win a map. There are so many great squads that actually play this game and fly like world class pilots. They use teamwork to accomplish objectives such as taking a base or assisting winning a map! Isn't this what war is about?
Hopefully we can take this as a lesson from this selfish individual and remember what flying and combat really is all about. Teamwork and skill! Maybe the scoretards, and single cherry pickin vulchers should fly like a world class team mates and world class pilots. The REAL COMPETITIVENESS OF THIS GAME will come out and make a pleasant gaming experience for all. New members and seasoned veterens. This game should be about your country winning not about yourself. Remember, there is no "I" in Team.

I do agree with you. These dam kids just have no respect for anyone at all. Just the other day a 12 year old told me to f*** off. :confused:
I feel sorry for the teachers; they have their hands tie while these kids walk all over them. A few years ago, i went to talk to some high school kids. As the teacher try to get them to be quite, they just kept on yapping away. One was text messaging on the cell phone. Seeing that she couldn’t control them, i yell on the top of my voice for their attention. I even threaten little missy with the cell phone to turn it off or i will do it myself. The teacher looked at me with a "OMG" look. After done talking to them, she came to me asking me why i did that. I flat out told her that she has no control of the kids so i had to step in.
Heck, I used to coach soccer but fed up with the dam parents coming to me crying why little Jonny is not getting the ball. "Gees, may be if you get his fat a** off the couch, stop drinking so much pop and eating junk food, and have him play outside more, maybe he came run faster"...... but i just kept my mouth shoot.
But it is not always the parents fault. Keep in mind you have a few ppl out there that over reacted when you try to discipline your child. What ends up happening, SRS knocking at your door.

Geez take it easy Hawk. In my life kids dont get on my radar screen until they shoot another 15yo or stick a knife in their teachers guts. Pretty heavy thinking over a kid who rented a second cartoon airplane with his left hand, to shoot down with his right. :huh This is no different then all the boneheads that tell their buddies and squadies, cross channel or on the phone, where the missions or CVs are.
But...I guess you take score seriously.
I got news for you. If this is the worst they do in life then they are way ahead of the pack.
But these kids have done it before and said they'd never do it again, only to come right back and prove to us they are complete idiots without remorse or a sense of wrong doing.

Kid why dont you quit yapping and let the thread die out on its own steam, without babbling and making it worse. It doesn't matter what the other two did. What Billy and Bobby did has nothing to do with what Mason did. I suggest you learn from this and grow up some. These guys play fair and square and dont like stunts like the one you pulled, nor do I. I just have a unique perspective and take gaming drama for what its worth. Most of all with kids cause I have to deal with such traumatized ones.

How about this. For those who partake in these despicable tactics (shade accounts, flying 5% as FIGHTER and 95% as ATTACK, etc.) they get an asterisks+. They get an icon :lol or the like that identifies them as lame everywhere stats are listed for the time period\tour listed. Make them poster children of the lame.
As a programmer I can tell you this would be easy to write with 99.999% accuracy. It would not be something that HT would need to do manually.
Only have it displayed for the time period\tour listed where they engaged in these practices so they have the opportunity to not be lame-listed permanently. Let them have the opportunity to fly like a pilot if they choose in the future.
What do you think?
If you guys like the idea post it in Wishlist. In fact, I'd be glad to right the code if HT does not want to put any resources into it.

As a programmer I can tell you this would be easy to write with 99.999% accuracy. It would not be something that HT would need to do manually.
It's not that easy.
How do you identify a "shade" when it's done from adifferent computer with different IP? What if one is flying 95% as ATTACk because he is really attacking ground targets most of the time (landgrabber or tank hunter). Your 99.999% accuracy is wishful thinking.

SAPP deals with this internally. That is all that will be said about that.
For the record... S.A.P.P. is not a Squad. We are just a rag tag bunch of folks that love the 38. Both in game and historically. Many individuals in SAPP are members of Squads and they come from all chess pieces. SAPP is a place where we can gather and share the history as well as tactics used and training. It is also a place where we can setup gatherings in game for mindless fun. We don't gather to affect game play other than to have lots of fun.

The point people are trying to make is that today you got "caught" padding your score, but what about tomorrow? Setting up off shore accounts to hide funds from the company you work for? Setting up dummy companies to hide tax money from the government? Todays kids are getting the wrong message from the internet. I CAN do this because there are no consequences being a nameless bunch of 1's and 0's.
You mentioned "you guys don't remember what it was like being a newb", I do, but it has nothing to do with honor. I had the opportunity to bend the rules many a time but never took it. You EARN respect....even in this community, you don't BUY it, or STEAL it. Cutting corners gets you threads like this "witch hunts". You'll take a beating, but if you truly stick it out you may even come out on top. 5 minutes of stupidity will take you months, maybe YEARS to erase, even in real life never mind just this game/community

I can assure you that SAPP has no tolerance for this behavior. You and I flew together for a while in the 327th, you should know that I would not tolerate or associate with anyone guilty of it. Action has been taken. There should be no more need for commentary by SAPP.
