Title: Amazing Coincidences
Post by: Oddball-CAF on July 08, 2012, 02:27:27 AM
Quite often as I read the posts in here of "this guy is great" , or "this guy is awful",
it gets me to thinking just who is the best stick in Aces High. And perhaps even
what determines it.
I guess one valid perspective might be that some guys are just really, really lucky
at finding easy prey and others, well, they have the misfortune of coming
across real studs all the time and get shredded.
Take for example these two unlucky guys who fell prey to DRKHORSE during
tour 148. Could their misfortune be any worse?

The first unfortunate fellow is "rgr" who was unfortunate enough to get in
front of DRKHORSE's guns a whopping 127 times during Tour 148,
and stud that he is, DRKHORSE was killing him in a good variety of planes, too.
<S> DRKHORSE!

DRKHORSE Plane Type / Number of "rgr" kills:
A6M5B/6
109G2/6
110G2/10
c205/3
F4U1C/13
F4U4/6
Hurricane IIC/2
Ki84/41
P47N/12
Panther/1
PzIVH/14
Ta152/5
Tempest/6
Whirbelwind/1
Yak9T/2

Poor "rgr". I'm guessin' he was probably REAL frustrated at the end of
that tour, and VERY glad it was over. But, thankfully for "rgr", he wasn't
the only guy gettin' ravaged by DRKHORSE's awesome flying and killing
skills.
Next is poor, unfortunate "indeep" who died 115 times when fate and misfortune
took his plane into DRKHORSE's area of operations.

Here's poor "indeep"s deaths and the plane DRKHORSE killed him in:

DRKHORSE plane/indeep deaths

C205/7
F4U-1A/5
F4U-1C/11
190A8/5
Hurricane IIc/3
Ki67/2
Ki84/5
P47M/4
P47N/33
P51D/12
PzIVH/9
Ta152/9
Typhoon/8
Yak9T/6

That's some great hunting by DRKHORSE!
I salute you! <S>

Best regards, Oddball

He was in our squad in FSO flying with us, so in the middle of climbout at about 20K I write a comment on range saying "Alright boys, check you burned your fuel tanks even before we get indeep" he instantly responds with "what?" then 2 minutes later "FU YOU GUYS ALL SUCK I DONT NEED THIS <---OUT" and bailed out in the middle of the climbout, we almost fell out of our cockpits laughing. Bone didn't know drkhorse's history until I told him when that went down  :rofl

The last two tours the HORSE has joined the rest of us in mediocrity. So either the original post outing him was two months ago or he lost a hand in an industrial accident. I hope for the sake of tension control it wasnt his main hand.

this is by far one of the funniest thing's i've ever seen in game, going to be hard topping this anytime soon  :joystick: Poor bone was clueless to what was going on when drkhorse exploded in rage and bailed out.

In the spirit of Occam's Razor, one can only conclude that Drkhorse, rgr, and indeep are roommates in real life, and have a darkly disturbing Dom-Sub triangle involving Aces High.

First off, Not defending here, that said...let it go guys, seriously it isnt worth the time, he will never admit to it, and if he needs to spend $45/month to have fun...so be it. Hopefully the toung lashing will get him to STFU about how good he is tho. But seriously, lets just let the guy play...(till he does it again)  :salute

Shade accounts are lame.  Period.

With that said, the guy didn't rob food from a homeless shelter.  Drkhorse (and a few others) went out of their way to give me a hand in my first few weeks on the game.  I appreciate that.  16 shade accounts and a midget locked in the basement do not change that, either.

Give the guy a break.  We've already burnt the "witch" in one thread already.

No I agree but there are many longtime Legit players who only stay because they find challenge in improving their skills and the stats are the only real measure of determining skill, just like in any other game. Be it baseball or cartoon combat. I could care less but others DO care and have a legit right to. Far more Legit then the guy who wants to fly with both hands and both feet while killing himself over and over again.

Boy is there anything Lamer? So keep watching those stats pages boys. Just dont get indeep.

I'm probably not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but if you had more than one account, how would you fly more than one plane at a time to shoot your other self down??
Just curious :)

Two computers or opening AH in two separate windows, I guess.  Although I don't think AH will open multiple times, but I could be wrong.

:airplane: Thought about that also and I guess he just takes off from a base, sets up auto climb, then uses other computer to take off "his" aircraft, then because he knows where the "bad" guy is, just flies over and shoots it down. To do all that Oddcaf pointed out in the first thread, wonder how many hours he put in doing all that "killing"

This is where the brain in my head starts to hurt.  As Lusche stated, it can't be to get recognition, because people in here seem to have a shocking capacity for boredom to look up the kill stats of other players.  The only thing that makes something approaching sense is, do they do it to be able to control CVs?

I guess I just want to know, if everything goes exactly right and according to plan, what does killing a shade get you?

Wiley.

I may to adjust my statement a bit:  A minority surely thinks they can get acclaim by their peers for their great rank or stats. Usually noobs that don't think of the fact that getting a high profile will result in gettign your stats checked by some bored nerd  ;)

The biggest incentive for such behaviour however, (particularly visible in those using minor arenas for that stuff) is... perks. [names edited]

OK, here's my method.  I take off at the same time as another person in my same country.  Before he has even climbed out from the field, I fire shots into his plane, and quickly kill myself, not even needing a shade as part of the process!  I am a genus!

[Note on the term "genus":  When I lived in Pasadena, CA, I noticed on a sidewalk along Del Mar Ave. that some kid had gotten to the concrete before it had dried.  I walked along reading things written into it -- "Raul was here," "Raul is great," etc.  Then I came along a portion that had written into it "Raul is a genus".]

you should be amazed how many players get dozens of kills on some guy that just "doesnt know any better".  you can usually tell if it's a shade or not based on the percentage of kills done by a single player.  if there's a guy that can kill the same player way more times than others then it's either an amazing coincidence.  but I cant see how somebody can kill the same guy while camping 30 or 40 or 50 times.  the odds are so against it that it is hard to imagine.

Uncheck "read only" in the properties dialog of the "films" folder.

Many people, when saving aces high folders, will end up with folders and files set to "read only" when they are transferred from certain types of media.

For 5 minutes he rants on about jibber jabber (insert Mr T photo) - all I wanted was a copy of the FSO film, someone has to have it  :joystick:
