nope, South Carolina... Had to wait 30 minutes in line with a $20 limit... all grades sold out except premium... it is because of the texas refinery shutdown in advance of the hurricane...  Time to build many many new refineries!

The prices here in South GA have went up 50cents in the last 5 hours.  Most places are out of REG. Plus, and only have Premium left.

Premium is 4.30 gal.

Such local supply disruptions due to localized events could be mostly avoided, if states would get together and agree on a common formulation for gasoline.  Here is one of the few areas where Federal leadership might be exercised to the common good (iffy, but possible).  That way, gasoline supply would be easily transferable from one area of the country to another.  Imagine the chaos if each state had their own standards for electricity generation and transmission?  California would be even more hosed than it currently is.

Just got off the phone with my wife who used to work at a gas station/convenience store.  The manager still likes her and calls her with info.  She said that the gas is jumping from $3.59/gal here to around $6.00/gal tomorrow morning, so fill up tonight.

look, the only solution is to expand drilling and build many new refineries that will have the capacity to cover the stoppage caused by future calamities... Danville VA. still showing prices ranging from $3.45 to $4.29. The last is the highest in town, not the average of $3.66.

Just curious, if you are reporting high price somewhere let us know the name of the city or town then we can look online to see prices and the range.

I live in Martinsville, VA (next door to Danville), our gas is currently $3.82/gal but good luck getting in line. I just drove thru the area looking around and it's a mad house, every gas station is jammed packed with cars to the point that it's snarling traffic around them. I did see some signs stating that you could only buy 3-5 gallons and that they were out of regular. The news reported that tomorrow morning it'll be $6.00/gal here which is unheard of around these parts. Even during the summer gas only -just- peaked above $4 but most remained at $3.50ish.

nope. but I have no real interest in being forced to pump my own gas.
I'd rather have the servant do it.
Especially on days like today when it was pouring rain.
I got to sit all comfy cozy and dry and let someone else do it.

Not only do we let servants pump gas for us.
But we typically get to pay less for gas then most of the country too.
So in reality. At least on that front we get more for less.

I admit there are rare occasions when I would just as soon pump it myself.
But really those days are rare.
Usually I pull up hand the guy my card. Tell him how much, then go inside and buy something to drink or a pack of smokes.
come back out, he hands me the card and a receipt and off I go.
Or I sit in the car and go over some paperwork.
No muss no fuss.

Only the little people pump their own gas  :rock

I was with my dad yesterday and we stoped to get gas, he started pumping and about 10 gallons in the pump slowed down, then stopped, but the tank wasn't full, so he went inside to ask the attendant, the attendant thought that our tank was just full, so my dad pulled the pump out of the tank and pull the handle, and nothing came out, so they said that the tanks must be empty then.

Yes those are the suicide paths, that is why the have the anti-suicide ramps algon the side of the road.  I have seen a few trucks up in them.  BTW, it isnt easy driving on our roads at night when it is raining, because we dont use the flourescent paint for the lines like everyone else does.

$4.00/gal here when you can find gas.  YES, we are STILL having problems with our gas supply, none could be found last night within 15 miles after I was lucky enough to get 6 gallons of gas after waiting in line one hour and six minutes.

I'm all for electric cars and nukes to juice them up.

Wish I could ship you some gas there in the Southeast.
I just filled up today for $3.61/gallon, and no lines here in Austin.

I saw a low of $3.61 in Cody WY. last week and it's averaging $3.70 here in Thermopolis WY. I'm finally seeing diesel below $4.00 almost everywhere now. I hope it gets down to $3.00 or even less but I'm not going to hold my breath.
