Just a month or so ago this was a thriving port, now look at it

:rofl

Wait, shouldn't the port be submerged, then?

It's on the Aral sea.
-
That should be under water...if it were an issue of global warming.
-
Just because you dropped ords on it doesn't make it global warming..... :lol

water evaporates more when its hotter so sea levels go down. duh!

Good bait or stinky hook?
-
water evaporates more when its hotter so sea levels go down. duh!
but isn't the ice gonna melt?!?!?!!!1!!!!!!
Think of the poor polar bears!!!!!!!!!11!!
-

He was refering to the point that the ice caps melting would raise the ocean levels.
Some think of evaporation, but in such a case there would be heavy cloud cover and at that point it is about to rain to the likes no one has ever seen. Not even those paired animals on that danged wooden boat. :D
-
floating objects (including ice and polar bears) displace their own weight in water so the whole arctic could melt without raising sea levels. duh!

phwewwww... it's a good thing this isn't happening for real! :)
-
in fact any polar bears which make it to dry land wont be displacing water any more so they contribute to falling sea levels too!
-

Yeh, but most of the ice is actually not floating but sitting over land mass. So if it melts, levels do rise....
-
but polar bears live in the arctic and that all floats. cmon this is climate science, get it right!

lol duh... not all ice is floating on the water.... :D

nuh-uhh. dutten, either.

Here it is!~ :rofl

Holmes, it is common knowledge that if global warming does occur and accelerates to the point of melting all of the ice in both hemispheres, A - there is enough ice on Antarctica alone to raise sea levels to bury the north american atlantic and pacific coastlines an estimated 150 miles inland at a minimum. B - the temperatures wouldn't be high enough for evaporation to have any effect on the rising sea levels. C - any evaporation that would occur would contribute to heavy rainfall which in turn would increase sea levels.
So RTFM again...DUH!!!

Which is why we find fossilized whale bones and aquatic dinosaurs fossils in places like Utah.... the dinosaurs had a thing for SUV's and coal-fired power plants, and when they created the last big "global warming" half of N America ended up under water.
-
so hard to think about the myth of global warming while we are in a low temperature trend for the past many years and currently sit in the middle of one of the coolest years on record........ I need to burn some more trees and drive around some more for the good of all the planet

Just wait, in another fifteen years we're going to hear about the imminent new Ice Age.

so how does that explain the polar bears?

Heard that in the seventies. Pretty good news stories too. All the big network news agencies talked about it, brought experts in too with pretty graphs and animation. Ooh scary stuff. Glad we're going the other way. I much prefer shorts and flip flops too parkas and Sorels.
I'm sure Moray will be along soon to enlighten us on our transgressions

so how does that explain the polar bears?
explain what? Their populations are higher now than in the last 25+ years.....

He lost the oceans rising debate so now he has to concentrate on the polar bears... Duh. :D

Polar bears rise?

Explain what? Yes, they do crap on the ice.

Also, notice how many "bear crapping" videos there are, wtf people!?

Yeah... It's never been about science. It's always been about (See Rule #14).

OMG Polar Bears contributing to their own demise. Seems Polar Bears are crapping on the ice. The dark crap does not reflect the suns heat like the white ice and snow. Therefore the ice melts around the bear crap. The bears have a good food supply and their numbers are growing. If something is not done soon, the ice will all be melted and seas will rise and stink.
This announcement broght to you by OMG.org

That was one huge contradiction (or hook).

Funny.....I just saw a chart that showed within the last 10 years the earth has steadily cooled.
Go figure. Now....someone has to yell the sky is falling again and find a way to make money and
scare the crap out of people because...THE EARTH IS COOLING! THE EARTH IS COOLING!
(Does this mean the use of fossil fuels will go up to provide more heat and make the earth colder still?)
A conundrum indeed!
-
No Hajo, it just means we're all going to have to buy more cows and feed them anything that makes them fart (may become illegal in some states). They are cheaper than cars and when you're done using them to produce the green house gases needed to warm the planet up, the manure makes great garden fertilizer, the meat is good eating and the skin makes very nice winter coats.
Cattle, the poster animal for...Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

We can all thank Al Gore for that. His hard work, diligence, and determination has turned this ecological disaster around.
Wonder how much money he made on it. I'm sure it wasn't enough and he is now going to fix the global cooling problem we have.

Imagine being a Cattle Rancher in Texas during the 1800s. Before rail roads were extended to Texas , Nevada etc.
Ranchers had to drive their cattle to where the rail road had come. Sometimes huge distances.
Imagine thousands of cattle at one time being driven north. The Bovine flatulence would have been staggering!
Again imagine...with that amount of Bovine flatulence there must have been a traveling hole in the earths Ozone layer traveling
steadily north with the herds going to station....I wonder if entire herds vanished!
I think I shall go to the Library tomorrow to view some old newspapers from that era and see if herds vanishing unexpectedly
for no reason made for good journalism at that time! :lol
-
I'm starting a green business right now. :aok Methane credits. That's right, methane. You can buy your credits from me, and I will see to the destruction and disposal of the methane producing animals, specifically cattle. That's right, I'm selling credits a side of beef at a time. :D

Global warming aside, you have to admit, trying to make the world more energy efficient is good for the long term. Either way you see it we can't sustain our current practices forever.
This message brought to you from a left leaning moderate walking softly because he feels madly outnumbered. lol

Better become even more energy efficient as population growth will far exceed any conservation being done.

I have no problem supporting the movement for renewable energy (especially Solar Electricity). I do, however, have a problem with the people who think we're boiling ourselves.

I blame Taco Bell.
All those burritos.
I mean we've all felt that warmth creepin up and around our cheeks shortly after a coupla combo's.
Of course its warmer now.
D'uh!
