Seen a lot of chatter lately from newbies, Most of it is stuff twelve you girls talk about in the mall. When you don't know how to do something and feel you need to waste valuable text time, try this. Use the ALT+F4 command. It will get you out of most jams. Then before you log in again, go to the help section or hit the training arena.

Another newbie annoyance is high squeaky pre adolescent voices. Maybe its just me, but Aces High before they charge the newbies daddy and his credit card, Aces High should check to see a something or two has dropped. Maybe the can work a fix for the "choir boy syndrom' into the next patch?

The last piece of advice for newbies is to use the hit ENTER button three times command when you are in a tough situation. A tough situation maybe shouting out a question like. "how do I start my tank"? Or "how come my plane wont take off"?

Wishing all you a happy holiday and to the newbies, I hope Santa brings you your "Hello Kitty" video game you asked for.
LOL. Aren't you supposed to be in school or something?

ya, but i had gotten to a point in aw, that i was spending way too much time on it. when it went away was probably a blessing in disguise, as i didn't do any online flying till i stumbled upon ah. i think that was 2005 or so.
i have a better perspective on it now. it was/is a steep learning curve too, as i spent all my time there in the "relaxed realism" arenas.

this game is infinitly more fun than aw was, although i miss the fights with rocky, tuefl, and a few others.

The intention of my post was a stab at humor and its obviously lost on some, thankfully not all. To "Steve" I have been a paid subscriber since at least 2006, maybe longer I would have to look at my bank records. A "Newbie" I think not. An "Old Fart"? Most assuredly! I cant fly my way out of a paper bag. However it is fun, a nice diversion and at 50 cents a day a real bargin. Who could ask for more?

Ive only been flying about a year and I appreciated every single bit of help I received.  When you first play the game there is a ton to digest and even more to remember.  Its not just squeakers, its 44 year old folks that need the help too and when you're new, you have NO idea what good or bad form is...you just wanna give flying a shot.

When you give the help that I received you help someone understand the game and pay the money...when new folks pay the money, you senior guys get the new, fancy cities, upgraded graphics, Hi Tech and Skuzzy's programming time, better planes, newer planes, etc etc etc...so the next time you decide to NOT answer a question or generally act like a love muffin to a new person who is making a decision to stay and pay or go, ask yourself this...do you like this game?  Do you want it to constantly improve?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, answer THEIR questions.  You might be the difference between all of us getting the M1A2 Abrams Main battle tank or a bathtub with golf cart wheels and a rubber-band stick launcher.  Grow up. :neener:

Been here just over 2 years - didnt have a clue when I started, and still dont have much of one now  :D. We should help newbs imo, but they can also help themselves by reading what is available to read, learn the basics and then ask if they dont understand something.

I'll try and help anyone with anything, that said, not much I can teach anyone as still learning myself  :P

No Joke you are right,Respect other players cause you Started like them (only Pyro not)
Dont Discriminate Secret Agent man`s (Players who took they Name and gave them a Number)
Don tell them the Alt+F4 maybe they are you re next Perk or he will collide with a Enemy C47 :bolt:
Just Tell him to go to the Empty TA ore Help him.

Santa brought me the Hello Kitty game today

My 1st question was: can anyone read me? my second: How do I get out of the Jail (Tower)

What it boils down to is that I will help those that help themselves. As Wurz said, they should read the help files to garner the basics. Telling someone how to start their engine shows lack of preparation on their part.

i posted this link in some other threads......but.....watch in to about 3:00, where he starts going over a preflight. also note the dive recovery flaps at 4:00...which you can see in operation.

then at 6:00, he starts covering the startup sequence.

so see? "how do i start my engine?" is a reasonable question.  :D :neener: :noid

I was a Heavy Equipment Instructor over seas, I taught both foreign nationals, and Americans how to operate.  The one thing that I always told them was,"Never Forget where you came from".  If you forget that you were a beginner once, then you wont help other people learn.  One of the guys that I taught to operate is not one of the top operators for the Turkish Army.  Now HE is instructing, and that is one of the things that I am really proud of.  God knows it isn't my flying ability in the game. :D

i offer help whenever someone asks for it, i am capable at that point in time, and they seem receptive to said help.  :aok
