Title: Killing Shades
Post by: greens on August 29, 2010, 01:18:23 AM
So when i log into orange arena earlier today a fellow rook is calling out a shade on 200, so i go check it out i up a panzer n kill the guy killing his shade the killer had no idea i was there, so im guessing he had like 70 gv kills on the other guy is that ok to have a shade and get easy kills>?, so me n the other rook wait for the guy to reup, instead he relogs, both of em logged off. few minutes later they both come back into orange n the shade ups 24s so i follow w my la7, 3 or 4 sectors later the other guy comes to the 24s w a 109 n kills the shade, the 24s never fired back. i log off go check my film n it definitley is the guy killin the shade. IS this legal?

Something similar happened on our side today. When confronted about it the guy answered "its a free country." Skuzzy got the report.

Im guessing he can kiss his perks goodbye.

It's much more legal to go kill the base rollers in MW or EW to get perks. I swear, you can get 3 or 4 guys to auger with a flat turn.

Is it legal?  Honestly, I dont see this as "cheating". Its gaming the game.
Cheating is when you work outside the parameters of the game and use sources that noone else has (cheat codes, god mode) etc..
Yes you are considered manipulating the score/perk system to your favor and using 2 accounts is not what the common AHer has source to. As far as manipulating the score system: Players with low scores generally get attention brought to them. You know it wont be long until someone examines those stats with an electron microscope and if they are killing their shade, I promise you they will burn at the stake from the community.

Yes, it is cheating. If filmed and sent to Skuzzy, they will be dealt with. Same goes for squaddies and such killing each other to manipulate score/perk points. I caught someone doing this, filmed/screen shot it, called Skuzzy and he dealt with it. And for those who may bark and bring up the fact that I have two accounts, yes I do. When logged in at the same time, they are always on the same side. The second is used as another set of Buffs, M3 with troops/supplies, a Goon, etc. Nothing wrong with that per Skuzzy. Besides, do you really think it is that easy to run two or more systems at a time? Not at all. Try 4 or 5 at the same time like I had going a couple of years ago. All running the same side at the same time. Not easy and not cheating. Any questions? Call 1-817-251-1540 and ask Skuzzy for the real low down on the subject. Or, if you just wanna whine, call 1-800-CRY-BABY ext. WAH for the Wahmbulance.

Sounds like a boom for the economy.

Two systems running just to pad your score. More computers sold. More electricity sold. HTC makes extra cash on the backs of a generally unproductive segment of the population.

We should encourage this activity in order to spur growth.

What I was referring to with squaddies is the "let me kill you 24+ times in a bump a/c to pad score/perks and such along with running the text buffer up when the kills get landed. There were three people in the arena at the time a couple of months ago in EW, the 2 of them and I. Saw a 24 kill msg. in a P40 then the individuals typing single letters in the buffer to run the kill msg. out. The previous landing of kills was about 10 mins. prior to that one. Doesn't take a genious to figure the math on that one. :rofl Got a quick screen shot and forwarded it to Skuzzy and he took appropriate actions.

Post by: badhorse on August 29, 2010, 10:28:54 AM
I've heard of this happening before and sending the film to Skuzzy is probably the right thing to do. The thing is determining if it is really someone killing a shade account or just getting repeat kills on someone that just keeps upping.
Example. There were GVs attacking one of our towns. Ords were still up and we had four or five people in airplanes bombing the incoming GVs. I went out to the spawn in a T-34. One of the bad guys kept upping in a Wirbel and I kept killing him. Yes, I was spawn camping (flame on).  But this guy kept upping in a Wirbel and I kept killing him. I must have landed 15 kills just on this one guy. I wasn't killing a shade account but after the fact it may appear as if I were.

Nothing wrong with multiple account, shading is when you use those accounts to give on account free kills by upping time and time again.

We must burn the shades!

So what do you do when your run supplies to yourself? Take down towns, kill or camp hangers? Lets see if I'm getting this right, your upping a tank with an endless supply of ammo, then ratting others out for basicly doing the same thing. Lol, I smell a hipocrite.

Have as many accounts as you want; score/rank is meaningless and so is anything that any of us do within AH.

Aces High is like playing golf, you can write down any numbers you want (or use a second account at the same time). However, in the end, you are only fooling yourself.

You really don't see the difference between using a second account to create a foe for the purpose of manipulating the score system, and using a second account to create a reliable team mate for yourself?

Was proud to serve. Both knees replaced, last one 6 months ago, carpal tunnel both hands, buldging discs in the neck, protruding discs in the lower back, loose ankle, oh and, a mood disorder as they say (head not screwed on right) :rofl. Still able to manage to get around on the good days. Should be in braces from head to toe but the meds keep me happy most times. :O And for the lambasters, it's not that often that both are on at the same time. Do you guys give Tunes as much hell when he is flying his 4 or 5 Buffs at the same time? Doubt it. It is nice though that when nobody will bring you supplies or troops are needed and your countrymen won't assist, it's great to count on yourself. Gaming the game, maybe but not cheating as per HTC staff. If they limit us to one system, no problem. I'll abide by their rules. If they don't limit us, I may form my own bomber squadron by christmas (Please Santa, all I want for christmas is 3 more computer set-ups for Aces High :joystick:).     :rofl :lol :rofl

You may have hit on something here.... If everyone had a shade that would double HTC's monthly income which would then end the need for arena caps.... We have been told that the number of new players, which equals more money, went up with the caps......

Perhaps, but there is a vast difference in degree.  Running two or more accounts for the same side offers no advantage for either of the accounts.  Having the second account on the other team for either spying purposes or padding the score of one of the two accounts is detrimental to fair gameplay and certainly puts one who may be going for a legitimately good rank/score at a disadvantage.

Put another way, I really can't see how anyone on the opposing team can be "harmed" by facing two opponents controlled by the same person.  It would be no different (one could argue even easier) than facing two opponents controlled by different people.  However, at the very least anyone going for rank is "harmed" any time someone uses a shade account to pad his score.

Shade killing? There is an interesting topic that has not been dicussed here before. Bravo  :D

At the end of the day, more accounts = more revenue for HTC so I say let em have as many as they need. But no more attention untill proof of obvious cheating is found and privately sent to HTC.

Right? I think that is about the gist of how this one ends up around page 207.

Nope, it wasn't me. When I was Bish until a year ago, I was with JG-3 Udet, most of which members are now the Aggressors. I am and have been with Wing of Terror since on the Rooks. When I do fly Bish, I fly with 1CASPER1 who a couple of months ago rejoined JG-3. Again, I rarely fly both at the same time but when I do, it's on the same side. No need to appologize for your thoughts and feelings on people who use pizz poor game play. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I do support multiple accounts if used on the same side but not on opposite sides when used to pad scores or spy. Those that have multiple accounts must police themselves and I do so. Some unfortunately don't. I would hope myself that HTC could make a way to link multiple accounts together and when one switches a country, the others automatically follow as to prevent padding, spying and such.

I'd be willing to bet that those who partake in this phenomenon are not actually paying customers but are manipulating the system in such a way that they are using one, if not two, "Two Weeks Free" accounts.

I recall someone killing a different shade each month in the past until he was outted.

So, it is actually a Lose/Lose for gameplay as well as company income.

15 dollars is not that much. I have seen youtube videos back when I was playing call of duty modern warfare of guys with 12 xboxs and 12 live accounts just so they could score potato.

it is not just an aces high phenomenon.

If you kill your shade aren't you just playing with yourself?

Sad, very very sad.

Some people think that men who play on line simulations too much are lacking in character and have a strange obsession with fantasy and have never grown up. That said, what does it mean when someone does it at double the rate?

you got a problem with those of us that are 48 going on 18?

WOW, how sad ones life must be to spend soooo much energy busting a shade account :huh. We all know score means nothing err, well it means nothing to most obviously it means much to you! :cry

Hey Skuzzy

I guess letting my 2 nephews play Aces High II against each other is not the thing to do. One is nephew 12 and the other 16.  They where fighting it out and one of the controls kept messing up. Then before I knew it they where getting crazy numbers.... sorry about that Skuzzy. I will delete the Deadmn26 account. Sorry for the trouble.

Sorry for any conflicts or stress created on any other members of Aces High II.

Take care &  :salute

I think violating the terms of use is even worse than killing yourself.  :rofl

This game is hardly like call of duty or xbox fun crap...  It is an adult game that people spend a lot of energy on.  Considering the time it took to become even halfway decent,  the money for the awesome controller set ups, the reading!!!   god I read so effen much.   I don't care if it is a game I take serious.

I'd like to know when I am in the company of a person such as that so I know not to respect him... = )

Imagine getting paired up with some hack kicking his golf ball out from under bushes and lying on his score card...

Never ceases to amaze that the biggest complainers about how scores don't mean anything are the ones doing the loudest complaining when something affects it.  :huh :bolt:

never ceases to amaze me when tards private message me to scream at me because I killed them......

and as far as squadies killing squadies, well I find that to get a great 1vs1 I need to fight my squadies, they are gonna fight no matter what, they will not run to ack, they will not call for help from there 15 friendlies, and most likely call them off, yup squadies are the best fights. :aok

Abso-frikkin-lutely!  Even had a guy on my side come and watch the show a couple of times when we go at it.  He was like  :headscratch: that I was fighting a squaddie.

Having two accounts or more is not necessarily a shade account.  Who was the bomber guy that would fly IIR four sets of bombers at the same time.

I have had two accounts before one for me and one for my son.   There is some "throwing every thing into one trash bag here."

3 sets, the 4th was actually a squad member.  :D

hhmmm......maybe i'll go buy another set of gear, open a 2nd account, and fly multi-bomber missions.  :devil
