Since you guys made the engine to smoke;
if it's been damaged.
Do you think you can make an engine be on fire;
if it's even more damaged?
-
I'm kind of confused what you are asking, we already have aircraft catch fire. Do you want the fire to be specifically from the engine and not just the airframe or wing itself?
I guess I Just don't really see the value of adding this.

You mean there are other parts of the plane that can catch fire not just the engine?
-
You mean the other parts of the plane that catch fire more often than the engine?
YES, we do.

Has a plane ever been on fire in Aces High?

But can you still control the plane a bit, while it's on fire?

Yes, once on fire, you have a few seconds of flight. I can't remember the range you are able to burn, something like 0-6 seconds before you die.
-

Until it blows up.
More than one victim of a roman candle they left for dead can attest to that. :D

JB, how much of the game have you actually played?

From watching the forumposts.. I'd be surprised if the answer was anything greater than "2 hours total." :joystick:
Rubber Ducky, you're the one! You make flaming LOTS OF FUN! (be thankful I typed it. Your ears would be bleading otherwise :D)

My favorite.

I honestly would think it'd be cool if engines themselves could be set ablaze, I mean, there WERE some planes that had fire extinguishers built into the engines.
-
JB, maybe you should put more than 30 minutes into playing the game before you start posting stuff in the wishlist forum. Just a suggestion. :aok

JB smells a lot like a shade. Ignore him.

Could be mine....... :noid

They can.

Yessir, I believe they are. :x

They can.
no unless they changed something in the last year. the fires we currently see are fuel tank fires (as stated by several here on the bb's including HT).
-
well when the fire is coming from the nose of the plane it would be cool if you got a nice bit of fire blasting across the windscreen. say 90% of the time i catch on fire in a Hog i don't know till someone tells me or i ask after I'm blown to bits and pieces.

So when the fire erupts from an engine on my B25 that's a fuel fire?

wing tanks
-
^ what he said, a B25 has self sealing fuel tanks in between the engine and wing root
-
Yeah but the fire is coming out of the engine, not the wing.
So that's a fuel fire:

-
well that angle is not the best but to me it looks like the fire is coming from just to the inside of it. notice the slight bit of orange there to the left.
If you get a top down view up close that would probably be better.
Either way every time this discussion has come up it is brought to our attention that the fires in AH are fuel tank fires and nothing else. Now like i said things may have changed but to my knowledge they are still fuel tank fires.

Yes.

I'm not sure, I just found those on the AH website's screenshot page... that particular picture is attributed to Brooke, February 27th, 2009.
If you're looking for the original .bmo you can try PM-ing him and asking if he still has it.

It would be cool if we had fire come over the cockpit... would add to the realism
