I see the current page for AH has a new remodeled tiger tank for the next version...great. i also see that the specs for the tiger tank we currently have show the gun as an L46 88mm. this is ofcourse incorrect as the tiger had an L56 88mm. if this is a typo please fix it,if not, then model the gun correctly please for 56 calibres of legth(56 x88mm)
I also se on the new screen shots of the new version of the tiger....or i should see i do not see grousers on the tracks....i am sure you GV'ers and heavy equip operatore know that on the tiger the grousers are directional and the germans put one track on for each direction on purpose, because of this tigers could turn in 1 direction faster than the other as they could get more traction by doin this and set the standard 4 tank tiger formation accordingly.....will it be in the update? and why not? planes turn differently due to engine touque. i wish they fix the tiger!

Where are you seeing the L46 gun spec? Both the wiki and the in-game charts list the gun as the L56 88mm.

GO to HANGAR. LOOK at loadout. it states right there L-46 88mm gun

Ok, I do not understand adding a 2nd Tiger to the current AH line-up (I do know a lot about both). First, I believe there are quite a few AC that should be added first that people have been begging for. 2nd, I think that other GVs should be added first such as maybe another British Tank or (here comes BAR, he can smell it) the M18/36 TDs. Also, will the addition of a King Ti ger subsequently mean that all of the perks needed for these tanks will drop seeing that a King Tiger is next to impossibble to kill from anywhere but "Danger Close?" I am all for more and more equipment being added, but another German Tank? I dont care as long as it only costs me 10 Perks for a Panther lol. <S> Thoughts?

Probably a typo and a bug. Have you compared the stated armor penetration? If it acts like a 88mm L56 and penetrates like an 88mm L56 but is labeled an 88mm L46, what is it?
Scotty55OEFVet,
They are not adding a second Tiger I. They are updating the graphics on the Tiger I from AH1 to AH2 level graphics, just like they did for the P-40E just below it on the front page.
-
I see what he's talking about now, if you right click and check the armor tables the gun is labeled there as a L56.
-
Also, remember when comparing armor penetration tables from different sources, make sure you read the tables to see what angle the armor was at when fired upon. Usually, the armor is at 30 degrees or at 0 degrees.
While on the subject of armor angles, people get really PO'ed when their tank bounces rounds off an enemy tank and they forget the basics of armor. Just remember folks, that data you read is not absolute unless the conditions are perfectly recreated on the battlefield. Recently, I was in a Firefly and bounced 2 rounds off a M4/76mm hull and the T34/85mm next to me bounced 10 or more (so he said) off the same target. First, the M4/76 was 2200-2300 yards out and secondly he was not squared up to us. On my 3rd shot I hit his turret and disable him. The amount of cussin' and blaming HTC for things gets kind of annoying.

I once was in a tiger, i got hit by no less than 30 rounds and I didnt die. the werbies on the other hand will take a lot more damage than any other non perked tank.

Lol, that is so true. I can fire 10 rockets in a 90 degree dive on a Wirb and not track/turret/or otherwise do anything to it, but I can be in a wirb and be destroyed by a Pony with one strafing pass with .50s lol. And I have even been hit 10+ times in a T34/Panzer before dying and have one-shotted Tiger's too.

I was in an A6M3 with the crappy Type 99 Model 1 cannons last time I engaged a Wirblewind. I took his turret out in one pass.

hopefully we'll get somthing new..I dont see why we need the p40E of all planes remodeled.tiger definantly looks sexier but i think a M-18 would be WAY sexier

The tiger, panzer, and t34 are the oldest tanks in the game and are sometimes mistakenly labeled as "super tanks" because they are not modeled with the intent of fighting with the current tanks we have therefore before we get new tanks we must update the old so that they are not under/over modeled to the current GVS THE TIGER, PANZER, AND T34/76 WERE ONCE THE ONLY TANKS IN GAME THEREFOR WERE ONLY MODELLED TO GO AGAINST EACHOTHER

Nonsense. Sorry, but there's no other way to put it. ;)
And who is labeling the T-34/76 or the Panzer IV as "super tank" anyway? :headscratch:

You know, when you hear "I PUT 9 FLIPPIN SHOTS IN THAT PANZERS SIDE WITH MY 85 " it cant be that there cheating, it must be that its not modeled as it should be do to the fact of how often you hear it.

Suddenly you are talking about the T-34/85....

Those "crappy" 20mm's may be on the bottom of the barrel in regards to other 20mm cannons, but they still can do far more damage per round than any .50 caliber. It only takes 1 round to come any where near a AA pit to disable it. Vs a wirby/osty, it takes far fewer rounds on target to get the job done than .50cal FMJ's.
I'm hoping that HTC will consider double checking the damage model on the Wirby, the hull seems to take more damage than the Panzer IV and the turret/gun is rather weak.

The p-40 was in need of an update. Personally I think once we get the ki-43, all attention at HTC should be put into remodeling current ah1 planes/tanks.

I've noticed it often take far more tank hits to kill an Osty than a Panzer but I just assumed that was because the Panzer is full of high explosive that can be set off while the Osty is not (or has less). Or is the Osty chassis filled with as much 37mm as the Panzer is filled with 75?

Wrong. Used to be less then that

Grousers DO NOT help tanks turn they help to keep them from sinking in soft ground. US tankers called them duck bills. To use them you took off the end connector and replaced it with a end connector with grouser. Tigers and all GE tanks had a single (dry) pin that connected the track blocks.
-
no sir grousers and duck bills are two different things and the germans had duck bills as well, duck bills are the extensions added to tracks to make them wider in bad waether such as snow/mud, in effect what that does is give the tracks more surface area and thereby lower the ground pressure by distributing the weight over a greater area, you then do not sink in as much and then get better traction. grousers help with traction on harder surfaces such as in the game we have, they would also help on ice...we dont have ice...yet?.....find some good pics of a tiger and look at the tracks.you will find that because of the design that they are dirrectional and one is mounted forward and one backward facing. turning in one direction will be easier with better traction than the other. not all tamks are like this. but the TIGER was.

We do not have "mud" in AH
