Thank heavens that Hornady is making anti zombie ammo! :aok

The guy invited him inside to get out of the cold - give that turd the chair.
-
I wonder what is wrong with him. I bet that he's lost his mind.
-Penguin

wouldnt believe it if it wasnt in a popular news website. :O

Ya think?
-
My point is that he should be in a mental institution, and not prison. He has no clue what's going on.

He killed a guy and ate his brain. If you put him in the chair he won't cost anyone more money.
-
He has no clue what's going on.
-Penguin
Then put him on death row and tell him it's the Sheratan.

You value money over somebody's non-vegetative life? What if he were your son?

-Penguin
I think the other guy is the one who lost his mind.
-

-Penguin
I like how you draw the distinction.

If my son killed someone and ate his brain I would throw him to the wolves. This "person" is no better than a feral animal that has killed a person. You know what they do with animals when they become a threat? They kill them. This fellow is no different.

Unfortunately states have been cutting funding to mental institutions for years, and many cannot handle more patients. Obviously he had some kind of delusions and was not in a normal state of mind when he committed this, but what do you recommend? If he gets the medication he needs, what then, release him back into society?
He may yet go to a mental institution, being unfit to stand trial, and likely spend the rest of his days in a cell there. It's unfortunate he didn't get help when he needed it, another person falls through the cracks. Everyone is a victim here.

:rofl Try saying that when it actually happens. You speak as if you do this daily, and they call me naive.

Good point. If, as you say, he gets his pills, then there shouldn't be any more problem with keeping him in line than any other released criminal.

Just so I understand, are you saying that if given medication, this man should be released back into society?
-
If it worked, then why not? We release rapists, wife-beaters, and robbers daily, and they were all cogent enough not to do it. If the man's illness is causing the problem, then we only need to remove the illness, and not the man.
-Penguin
-
Can you guarantee he takes his medicine every day? Can you guarantee his body won't build up a tolerance to the drug? Can you guarantee his body is actually responding to the medication like he says? Depending on the disease, can you prove beyond a doubt he is suffering from it? Some diseases aren't as easy to identify.
Life would be great if everything was so black and white, unfortunately it isn't.

So you ask me a question, I give an honest answer, and then you call me names.
-
That is a matter for the court psychiatrist. On matters in his field, what he/she says goes.
So you ask me a question, I give an honest answer, and then you call me names.
Well, you did violate the principle of unconditional love. Perhaps name-calling was uncalled for, (no pun intended) but your position is not something that you are likely to keep if your child were actually in danger.

I'm pretty sure that if I went crazy, killed someone with an ax, and then ate his eyeball and brain my parents wouldn't have anything to do with me.
-
You're underestimating how much they love you.
-Penguin
-
My parents have done so much and made many things possible for me on my short time on earth, but I'm pretty sure they would disown me as soon as I went murderer/cannibal combo on someone.
-
Talk to them, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
-Penguin
-
For some reason I think asking "Hey mom, if I killed someone with an axe and then ate their brain and eyeball would you still love me?" wouldnt go over too well.
-
Oh no, she'd be angry, and possibly messed up, too. If she didn't love you, though, then she wouldn't care. Compare your reaction to the story to what would happen if you were the ax-swinging-slasher and told your mom. See my point? That's why parents get so angry, upset, etc., when bad stuff happens to their kids it hurts them on the inside.
-Penguin
-
See, I try not to do things to upset my parents.
-
Like I said, my parents love me. I know that, but I certainly wouldnt expect them to love me after I killed someone.
-
Well, I don't know your parents, and the only conclusive way to find out is to go out and do it. However, asking them might be a start to finding out.
-Penguin
-
Like I said, I try not to tick off my parents.

Gotta bring the chair back. 10 cent slug would be just as cheap
-
People who commit inhumane acts in my opinion don't deserve a humane death sentence, I'm all for the chair

There are tons of folks out there like this. Some time ago, after the ACLU got their ruling from the supremes that holding folks in an institution just because they were crazy was not good enough there were quite a few people of varying degrees of reality let loose. Now the "system" is set to hold only those who are adjudicated a hazard to themselves or others. The problem is that ruling is almost never handed down prior to some schmuck having his brain and eyeball eaten by said looney toon dude. In addition to that the ruling also says that if the individual cannot be tried because he is a looney toon he must be held until he is. Unfortunately that doesn't always hold either.
In my almost 2 decades of dealing with folks in enforcement situations I have found there are quite a few folks, homeless because they are unemployable, mobile because they are homeless and unmedicated because all of the above, running around. Treating them with meds is fine. Problem is in the real world, not some utopian pipe dream, they don't stay medicated for the previously listed reasons. Some also seem to like being crazy because as soon as they can get out of forced treatment they split and stop taking their meds. Again until they are found consuming another victims brain and eyeball they are not forcibly incarcerated.
A few also try to get their court mandated treatment options changed like hinkley. Just because he shot a president, killed a cop and turned a reporter into a poster child for the anti gun crowd does not mean he should be kept off of the streets according to his lawyer. He should have more access to visit dear old mom, unsupervised of course, and plenty of time outside of the hospital the court sentenced him to. If you think he's all safe and stuff I invite you to have him stay with you and your family for a few weeks.
That guy out there on the corner with the cardboard sign may not be a homeless vet down on his luck. It might just be the guy that bums around the country hacking on folks he / she finds and simply has not been found out yet.

What if it was your son's brains the guy ate? What if then they "fixed" him with some dope and set him loose, only he goes off his meds and then eats your daughter's brains? How long do you think you could maintain that sophmoric utopian college kid opinion? How many of your family members' brains would you let this guy go through before you put him down?
-
Hornady makes a good 30-06 round i use for deer.

WOW that is one pathetically lousy site. They should get some grade school kids to build their site for them.

If he's that cruel to do that, he deserves the chair. If he's that crazy, he won't even know he's on the chair.
'nuff said.
-
Simple fix, put him on death row with a Coleman stove, and some meat tenderizer, and let him eat his way to the top. Saves the state a bill for a couple of injections, he gets all the vitamin K he wants, and then when he gets to the top give him the juice.
-
I think a good way to save money would be to save them up, say, five at a time.
There could be an electric couch, instead. There wouldn't be a waste of multiple appointments.
It would also save money on the electric bill by cutting down the usage of power by juicing all five of them at once.
Just make sure you wire them in parallel NOT in series so when the first one's eyeballs pop out, the flow path doesn't stop :aok
