My museum is sending out our F6F, F8F and A6M3 to Chino this year (on Thursday, I believe Chino's zero is still in Japan atm).  I have personal commitments Friday (media day) and Saturday ala helping a friend out in Arizona, but I will be back in Chino Sunday, possibley as early as Saturday afternoon/evening (I know, I'm missing all the parties!).

The F6F is tentative atm, last I've heard we're still squaring away a problem that's had it stranded in Laughlin for a couple weeks now.

it's 20 bucks each (less for children),  sat or sunday.  there's no parking fee.  but be ready to walk to the main gate and from there trams will take you to the entrance to the show.

also bring a folding chair or you can buy one there.  they were about 20 bucks last year.  there's lots of beer so dont bring your own  and plenty of food.  I never bring anything but some people bring their own water and snacks.  I dont think they allow coolers in thought, but not sure.   bring a hat and sunglasses too.

tickets are normally 2 dollars off online if you buy them a few weeks before but they also charge a fee so you end up paying the 20 bucks anyway.  there's plenty of tickets but plan to arrive early.  I normally get there at 10 so have to time to look up close to the planes and/or tanks.  and also to get a good place next to the barriers next to the runway.

they also have pilots who flew in ww2 and they tell their stories.  they're pretty interesting to hear.

ROFL, ahhhhh good morning humor.  ^^^

I hope to be at Chino.  I did go to this year's Miramar show.  Walked around with my son-in-law and my 4 year old grandson.  I had never been to anything like it before and had a great time.

There's supposed to be a 109 in a museum in Chino, I don't think it flys though.
Go see before or after, if there, photo that, photo, and post!

They do have an original 109 that is in excellent condition that they don't fly.  They have a 190A (post-war kit) that they do fly (and probabley will at the show).

The 109 is at their Arizona museum, not in Chino.  They do have a 109 (E7 I believe) dug out of a lake in Western Europe in the foreign hangar but it is not restored.  They have many WW2 planes, and each month they host a living history day where one of the planes is the focus.

Great footage, the Korean renactment is one of my favorite bits.  Thank you so much for sharing this, I couldn't make it and regret not beign there for the great show this year.  I just helped replace the top cylinder on that Zero the weekend before, it's great seeing her fly so well.

So many corsairs, wow.

Looks like we substituded the SpitXIV for the F6F.  HAH!  Looks like Lips snuck his T6 in next to the zig on the line (red nosed and polished one).  And was that Miss Kandy (the yellow nosed blue tailed pony) in one of those photos?  I do believe it is.  She stopped by our hangar two weekends ago too, got soem gorgeous shots of her next to MoW.  Posted below.

Don't forget Wings Over Camarillo in August, rumor is Pt. Magu is off.  We're close to the ocean in the summer, and we're buddies with Chino so they come over with a bunch of their cool planes for the weekend (we've had the wing the last couple of years, a jug, the 190A, a F7F and a P-38 last year in adition to all our own aircraft)

Our spit XIV was there, and knowing Chino there was probabley at least another one or two on the line.

Ask them (the show's organisers) to pitch in for shipping over a SpitXIV from California, and a few pilots/mechanics/support along with it (and/or our A6M3, F6F, F8F...  :devil ), I'd love to!

They also have a Bf 108 that was brought to the US in 1945 and hangered in Seymour Indiana for about a year. The airport is still there and located an hour from my home. They brought most all the captured German planes there after the surrender to test and study. Chopped up hundreds of crates of parts of planes and buried them all over the property. Been digging up stuff there for years, even still today. I have a FW190 prop spinner cap, and piece of a 190 landing gear I found in the woods in 2006.

Anyway, the 108 was a 2 seat 109 and had an orange tail. Its now at Chino and they don't seem to want to sell it.

The 108 was most definitely not a 2 seat 109.

108 wasn't even a fighter much less combat aircraft. It was essentially in dumbed down terms for you, like a Cessna 172

Is that supposed to be a joke Zach? Because you are one of the biggest jokes around here so trying to be funny either comes easy as a result, or you simply can't trump your own persona.

Have you seen a 108 before? I don't think you have. I'm sure however, that you will post a pic of one below to try and give yourself some validity.
