Post by: surfinn on June 19, 2013, 01:22:24 AM
Id like to see everyones great ah stories. Please no names. (fish stories guys please keep it light)

Ill start with something that happend tonight. I was taking ords down at a enemy base and on the second ord bunker a spit was flying over it at the same time I let my rockets go on it. Didn't even see the kill at the time as I was dodging the other 5 highly pissed off fighters :lol Two turns and I'm dead look up the score in the hanger and I see that the spitfire blew up with the ord bunker even though he was in the air above it :rofl

I'm sure Redbull will be along shortly with a Troll Patrol story when Pacman brought supplies instead of troops on a 200 mile basetake...

Greenies being attacked by two Brewsters. Going to help him with my Yak9-T (Ok, more thirsty for the blood of some brews than going to help  ;) ). Get on the 6 of one of the brews that is chasing him. Really don't want to miss so I fire 2 37mm shots. The 2nd brew comes flying in from right to left trying to get a shot on the green guy. First 37mm hits him, 2nd 37mm hits the other brews. I screamed and laughed joyously.  :devil

I'm planning on making a short video out of the film sooner or later.  :aok

even better when it was me minding my own business,  was warned of said plane sniffing around our base.

I casually pulled up to about 50 feet over the ord bunker as it exploded.   My wing then happily departed   .

On the plus side I genuinely bailed out and received the 100 bails achievement  .

Not exactly my best moments in AH but still fun none the less, Last night I came across a p38 raid in my spit 16 there were all about 6k and I was about 10k needless to say I dove right in there it was funny watching 10+ heavy P38s panick and drop ords to fight on my first pass through the bunch I got 3 of them  :lol they carried on to our fields were I think Klingan got 5 of them and EatG got a couple too fun times indeed  :lol

My 190 versus a dash 1. I force an overshoot cost my all my airspeed. F4U goes up, inpop flap and have just enough lead to pop his wing off.

While RTB I got jumped by some notable bish(I have that part of the film somewhere)
first itwas 1 on 1 then it got to be like 4 on 1(2 pony and 2 doras.) I think I got hits on all of them but after several rolls, dips, and slides, I got killed. But I got a nice pm saying how Good my defencive tactics were

Flying a C202 on escort duty for some Ju87s in an FSO event. Check scores the next morning..."where the heck did I pick up a friendly kill from?!"  :headscratch: after viewing the film I see that in the process of trying to scrape a P40 off the tail of a stuka, one (just ONE!!) BB of mine stikes the Ju87 pilot and he bleeds out and dies while RTB  :bhead  :furious

Guys please keep others Ids out of the post. I thought this would be a great place just to trade funny stories. Not a troll of other players thread. :salute

Quite a while back I was on station over a vbase in a ju87 with a 1800k bomb on board. All hangers were down, airspace is capped, friendly gvs on base, m3 almost to map room. One of the gvers shouts mainpad hanger up. I dive on it see gvs pooring out of it. Bomb away look back vh goes down and all the secondary explosions look like a string of fire crackers going of. 6 kills with one drop. 2 were tigers :lol

Last weekend, I was rtb with damage after divebombing a cv. On my final approach, I notice an LA and a Niki deacking town with low lancs overhead working on a white flag. I quickly belly land and up a 109f. I head straight for town as the LA and Niki take turns making passes on me while I turn out of their guns. I catch the LA in my sights, give him a ping, LA extends to the deck as the Niki Dives on me, I hit flaps and hammerhead coming back with a solution, hit the nikis tail, he augers in. While looking for the LA, I notice something on the deck, C47!. I notice the flag is now white and assume the town is deacked, I head straight for goon while checking my 6 to see LA turning towards me, but I am faster (for now anyways). I take the wing off the goon, and prepare to fight the LA that should be now gaining on me. Nope, he broke and didn't want any. I gave chase, but it was fruitless. Single man defense. Good times.

Last year I was in to performing NOE gunship runs in a B25H on fields a few sectors behind the lines.  During one, I happened to catch a 262 upping.  Flew 50 ft off the ground right down the runway behind him....ack firing all over the place.  :airplane:   The poor guy never saw me until I was litterally right behind him.     He tried to take evasive action with predictable results...

:joystick:  :joystick: :joystick: *pew pew pew* <boom-shak-a-laka-boom>

The player PMed me: "This never happened.  I was not here."  I've honored that request ever since.   :rofl

Awhile back I saw to planes (don't remember the planes) taking out city buildings and ack. I upped a plane and start to fight these two. After awhile after chasing and avoiding the planes, I get on one of the planes six and he's running to our field. I started chuckling and thinking this guy is not the sharpest tool. Get close enough to field for ack to start firing and started wondering why I'm hearing ping sounds on my plane. I look at the text buffer and find out that they had captured the base  :frown: . I ask on 200 if they were distraction for the goon and lo and behold I found out that I was not the sharpest tool in the shed.  :furious

Now THAT story has the ring of truth to it. Prolly 'cause most of us have done something very similar at least once.

One time I saw one of our task forces was shelling this city and base, so I jump into one of the unattended large guns and commence to firing on the city as well. I get a couple of bldgs down, but then, surprisingly, no more went down when I knew I had hit something. So I kept blasting away, until finally I pull up the map and see it's now GREEN! and prolly had been green for some minutes. D'oh! :bhead

Two 262 stories

I was flying a I-16 on the pizza map a while back. I'm at 20 k and see a pair of dots harassing the heck out of a bunch of friendlies. Finally got that slow Bird over the fight and it was 1 friendly left low and slow. The two dots are a winged pair of 262s. I can tell the 262s are watching the lower con and not aware of me. The highest 262 pulls up to about 15k Left wing over looking at the lower friendly while I'm burning in from 20k straight down on him. I shoot right when hes about to nose down again and is basically sitting still. Flames erupt out of his wings. I'm still diving on the second 262 when he hit the deck and ran for home. The one I shot down Pms me going what were you in?????? :rofl

Me and four other guys were in ju87s otw to close a vbase down when we were intercepted by a lone 262. He tried screaming in and missed. Then he tried getting slower and missed. Finally he dropped a lot of speed we dropped ords and fought the guy. While he did get two of us he didn't rtb with his 262 :rofl The fight lasted for what we thought was 10 Min's :O

Rocked up to a fight in a D3A loaded with a bomb at 15k. Over the eny runway I was forced to fight by a Pony D, I pitched my bomb as I rolled over and started to dodge his attacks.

About 10-15 secs later, I get a kill message. My bomb had landed right on a spit midway down the runway as he just pulling up his wheels.

Someone shot off my tail from point blank.  My plane cartwheels nose high and as it goes vertical my sights are full of Spitfire.  Pull the trigger and the kill is mine right before the crash.   :D

And then there's out-scissoring that N1K in my Mossie.  That felt pretty slick.

Ooo yah, and speaking of Mossies, how about the B17 driver who learned that yes, you can hit a bomber from 1K with Mosquito rockets, and when you do the whole formation goes down.

'Nother time I escorted some poor ack-wounded enemy back to his airfield in tight formation, just for a change of pace.  I'd love to know who that was.

I'm in the DA fighting xxxxxxx , he has beat me 742 times and always first class.  We are in f6s and I get a decent merge and work my way for lucky snapshot and I think I just got a wing......So I roll over the top and I did wholly %##*¥^ I'm on top with E and he has 1/2 a wing.  I'm still scared to death he is going to beat me again.  I make my shot and get the kill, mind you I'm now 1 for 743.  He polite says nice shot and I proceed to get spanked the rest of the night.
This is why I play this game  :salute

Fighting on the pizza map, one of those coastal air brawls between two close fields. I'm in an F4F with three kills to my name, limping home on half a wing and no ammo. I think I make it clear of bad guys when, out of no where, a P-51 appears. He saddles up on my six, closing fairly fast, but all he does is pull up to my high 3 o'clock, rock his wings, and zoom away. I'll always remember that, and I've been chivalrous in situations that allow for it, ever since.

There's that, and the A9 raid with the 91st bomb group. A grueling marathon of 262s and other fighters attacking 10 sets of 17s at high altitude. Non stop action for more than 30 minutes with as many as seven 262s in range at a time. If I have time I'll try to find the film from it.

This story I was not in, but it is retold alot in squad.

On that big old map with its 20k mountains, our glorious leader decided to lead a P-51 raid to open up a front. All the ponys were heavy with fuel/bombs & rockets, and were climbing like bricks.

So our illustrious Wing CO leads us into a valley between 2 mountains. This valley was not as safe as it first looked. some voiced concern about the hill they needed to climb over at the end of it.

The noble leader assured them that all was well.

Right up until the moment his plane hit the mountain side. Most of us tried to break out but the valley was too narrow at that point and many stalled in trying to turn. out of 15 odd planes 3-4 made it out alive... with film!

Now someone needs to post that film  :devil

I'm pretty certain I upped a fighter to kill this huge dar bar I saw gathering the other side of these mountains.   I was being stealthy through the valley and popped over into the next one.   Then the dar disappeared and I was like   :headscratch:  is this the bermuda triangle of AH??

The sortie that I'll always remember was on Baltic map. A knight mission took off from Helsinki just as I was circling on top of it at 20k in a Pony-D. I saw activity down below so I started diving down. While diving I start to see about 20 low planes in rows of two travelling west. Immediately I realized that I just zoomed to a large mission.

I level up behind the last plane fighting with compression and shot him down. The compression was so hard that I couldn't turn fast enough for the next plane and just had to zoom by him. Waiting to be shot in the back... nothing happens. It's like I'm not there. Then I move to the next one, shot him down. At this point I'm expecting them to be screaming check 6 to everyone. No - everyone still flies level. I shoot the third one down, then the fourth. Now my speed is way below compression but I'm still much faster. I shoot down the fifth plane - now they wake up and start dumping bombs. I shoot down the sixth plane and now everyone is breaking hard coming after me.

For a split second I consider just flying home with my kills but then I decide to stay and deck it out 10 vs 1 and low on ammo. I finally manage to shoot down 1 enemy more before I'm killed. That mission is something special I'll always remember.

many years ago I came accross an enemy P47 up at 30k whilst I myself was in the same model 47. We cased each other oot for a while with tentative merges then via 200 we realised who each other were. Wolfala and me then winged for a few sectors chatting untill we decided to try and land on a tiny plateu at about 28k. We both cartwheeled i seem to remember. Odd moments of non-combat are ammoungst my favorite memories in this game.

I joined a mission of heavy fighters out to hit an enemy field.  About halfway there, a teammate, who was RTB, tells us that we are about to meet a group of enemy bombers on route to the field we launched from.  About half of us dropped ords and took out the bombers.  The poor bomber flight had a serious case of bad luck that day, flying right into a flock of enemy fighters.

Trading broadsides with another formation of B29s

Hehe, I had used my B-29s as a "heavy interceptor" in the LW arena quite a number of times. When you rtb from the strats at 28k and still have 50 minutes of fuel left, it's fun to track down a reported high alt milker. I accumulated 16 kills (to 2 losses) that way

I remember one player PM me "I could not believe it when I saw your formation of 29s diving on my Lancs" ... but hey, perks are meant to be used!   :devil

We have a beloved squadie,he's on hiatus now and we're awaiting his return, who is a perfectionist. And not afraid to share. In a mixed plane raid of somesort he'd ditched, bailed..canna remember...and as our base was aways off he offered to gun in my B-17. I piped him aboard and soon heard an endless stream of corrections and criticisms delivered in his droll brogue. I was able to do nothing up to standards, I only wish I'd recorded it.
 Miss you, buddy.

I'll play this:
AirWarror3... 10years ago? Squad "Praetorian Guard"... leader Zazen not around that day.  DaK and I are on patrol at maybe 20k out over the ocean.
We both knew that Zazen was 'the pilot' question was who was 2nd to him, either of us even close? We were kinda in competition for 2nd, so we weren't the best wingys.
In these days, there were no 'proxy' kills, u had to have at least one ping on a guy to get credit if he crashed or augered...
Also, no film in those days? I forget. Also, very few actually used voice, 99% were typers only. Fuel burn was 1x so long flights.

So, I was in my 190a6, my squady DaK was in his f4u about 20k over the ocean.  Suddenly many cons ahead of us, maybe a mission of some type, lots of fighters slightly higher.
I immediately dive for the deck, and lose sight of DaK.
Seems though, that ALL the cons followed me into the dive, all of them after me?
Going about straight down slightly rolling, getting closer and closer to the water below...
Some bullets zipping by me, all trying to get that single ping required for kill credit if I auger.
Sooo steep, sooo fast, and sooo closer to the water that theres no pulling out now...
...
I did a trick with my stick/pedals... that induced a spin, a flat spin...
Its like my plane 'skipped' like throwing a flat stone across the water....
Boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom... <--- lost count, sooo many of them hit the ground...
I do more foot pedal stuff to come out of the flat spin / stall...  I look around, there is only one other plane left, both of us at like.. under stall speed maybe 50 feet above the waves, barely in the air.
I was just able to bring my nose around to the right,  to point at him first, squeezed trigger, blasting the left side of his plane at about maybe three plane lengths away, his plane filled my front window as it exploded.

I climb back up towards friendly dot, its DaK, he joins up on my wing, he types "Where'd you go?"
I know that he saw what happened, but would anyone ever believe it anyways, his response and lack of requesting explanation implied that he knew, and that the story was ending right there.

We flew on, never mentioned again...  :airplane:    :airplane:

Ones that stick out in my head:

Flying B24s with my squad in a scenario one night, we'd hit whatever we were supposed to hit and were RTB.  Squaddie on my high 12 1000 yards out decides to send a tracer across my nose just for grins.  Alcohol may have been a contributing factor...  One bullet from 1000 yards from his tailgunner, bomber explodes.  Pilot kill.  Only damage I'd taken that sortie.

Flying with 2 squaddies in 262s, making a run on a set of buffs and just squeezing the trigger as a squaddie's 262 appears from below the nose of my plane.  Missed the bombers, but had a REALLY good line on the body of his plane.  Instant tower.

FSO flying 109K4's against Spitfires.  I can't hit anything with 30mm unless I'm right on top of it, so I'm fighting with this spit getting closer and closer.  He's making a gentle turn and I've got a good lead, am close enough to hit him, and just as I'm squeezing the trigger, my plane splits in half.  I figure, 'Ok, his wingie got me because I was target fixated.'  Upon review of film, a squaddie was spraying 30mm from 600 yards out at 90 degree deflection to the two of us and I ran into his taters.

Another of my favorites was playing Warbirds, flying a TBM subbed in for something else in their version of FSO.  The enemy were in 109's and 110s.  We had just dropped on our target and were egressing on the deck.  One of my squaddies is all alone about 2 miles behind me under attack by a 110 and 109.  My plane had 1 .30 cal peashooter on the front of it, but I figured "Why not?"  I turned back into them as low as I could get.  Squaddie was dragging for his life and the two of them were working him pretty hard.  They didn't see me until I was about 500 yards away from them and the 110 was in planform banking 90 degrees toward me.  At 200 yards, something just felt right and I put what felt like a 2 second burst into him.  It was one of those shots where everything just went right.  Every sprite I saw was on his cockpit.  Pilot kill.  I immediately turned into the 109 who proceeded to turn tail and run home.  Safe RTB for me and squaddie.

Wiley.

I was one day over a gv base with bombs and rockets.  tried to take out dar dropped both bombs and missed, came around with rockets and missed again, turned to guns and the sob still didn't go down.  finally somebody said on range "what are you doing this base is ours, the enemy gv is the next one up".

Bet those were two close bases. I've done similar.

:furious

Reminds me of something I did. After taking off from a carrier I went to to the enemy base to get some pelts. After a few minutes I get myself in trouble, a bunch of trouble. With a horde fast getting on my tail I dive towards a carrier. They follow! As I'm almost within in gun range I start wondering why aren't they pulling off. I get into the ack and the unfriendlies are pinging me. They pull off. Whew I made it. But what's this the ship acks are knocking off pieces. I ran to their carrier. Doh!

Was flying a 262 low over ground and got close to a enemy field. Started to pull up for alt, and when I did realised a Mossy was sitting head on with me. Next thing I know I was in the tower from a perfect shot to the belly.

Second one was a dog fight between me and a squadie in the DA. We were fighting in D3A's when I managed to take half a wing off his. Then straight and level, he preceided to out run my plane with his shot up half a wing plane.

Seems there are as many (if not more) self deprecating stories on this thread as any other. I take it as a good sign that the average player here can laugh at themselves or appreciate it when an opponent does something noteworthy (even if it is noteworthy at their expense). This thread is a nice break from what seems to be becoming the norm on the BBS. WTG OP and  everybody else.

I was with several other players desperately trying to defend an airfield that was the last bastion on a peninsular, surrounded by enemy. The nearest friendly base was a good flight away and once word spread the reds were vulching in force, we had stacked Pony's, Jugs and 38's waiting their turn above the field, manned by exactly the squad/s you are thinking of

Anyway, both FH's and BH's were up, fuelling the vulch, and after repeated hopeless attempts to lift Shida came up with an idea.

He found the field the reds were lifting from which was by now nearly over-run with guys looking to pad score, and taking off in droves, there seemed to be no let up to the vulching or the willingness of guys trying to get off the ground to defend this last field.

Me and Shida took a couple of Typhoons, with rockets and 100% fuel from the nearest friendly based, took off and made our way to Redland.

We hedge hopped all the way to the base and popped up over the foliage to see a plethora of enemy aircraft on finals, on take off, manouvering to the re- arm pads. We were balls to the wall, touching 400 mph as we came screaming through the ack straight down the field, I fired the rockets in 4 quick salvo's, and heard explosions behind me from NrShida's ordnance hit and the chattering of our cannons.

The chaos on the ground was apocalyptic for them few seconds, planes slewing off the runway, others exploding, I saw a B17 sliding along the runway on it's nose, burning.

As fast as that I was off the end of the field and jinking, by then I had ack hits in the radiator so the Typh's time was do :)ne but as far as I remember we caused sufficient disruption to allow some uppers from the friendly field which then managed to hold out.

Whenever anyone asks what my most memorable AH sortie is, the exciement that I felt cresting tha last little rise and opening up on that field means this sortie always comes to mind :aok

One of the more memorable shots I had, I was in a panther camping my usual spawn outside 135 (that airbase west of it). A Jug pilot who was recently bombed was mad and decided to de-spawn us, so he came in around 15k, I backed down a hill and was able to get my barrel straight up.
I pulled trigger when he was 2k out in a dive and managed a hit (didn't take much since he was in a vertical dive on me).

Hooter and Tull I think witnessed it, I got him before he got bombs out. Chances of me ever doing it again? Zero.

Was taking troops to a base (loooong time ago), and parked next to one of those small houses. Tiger comes out of the hanger and drives within 200 yards of me (my engine is off).  He parks 200-300 yards infront of me, and turns his engine off.  Turns his turret towards me, but doesn't fire. Turns it back to the front of his tank, and restarts his engine.  Turns and drives 13 yards behind me. He didn't see me!

He died 5 seconds later by a friendly with lancs  :devil

Then I drive to the v-base and die by field ack  :rofl

I think I still have the video.  If I knew how to edit it would post it (roughly 2 hours long, event was only 2-3 mins).

Still havin fun

Last year I was in a intense dog fight with a F4u-c vrs my Fm2. I had alt on the guy and honestly was expecting a easy kill. After my first pass on him I knew it was someone good behind the controls. We turn fought all the way to the deck where both of us was were e starving at this point. I finally get on his 6 right on the deck under d 200. I take my ac right to the edge of stall because I see his flaps go down and I'm still about to over shot him. I think ok this is over no way he can not ditch going that slow that close to the ground. So I wep pass him belly to his cockpit 50 ft of the ground. I start to pull up look back hes got his gear down but his flaps aren't down. He bounces of the ground pulls his gear up full wep nose barley pointing up and nails me :lol

I'd have to say the time this guy goes on ch200 and boasts to someone else that he can take him easy in a 1 v 1 and it would be done in one turn.  He just goes on and on about how good he is and he'll take all comers.  I was still fairly new.  Might have been my 4th or 5th month and maybe my 2nd month on ch200. :)

The guy would not stop, and eventually I had nuff of his bragging so I said something...

So then he says I'll take both of you on 2 v 1 and it would still be easy that's how bad you all are.  I said well I doubt that but I'll go for the 2 v 1 against you and let's see.  He told us what sector to meet at... Alt 10k.  So off I went. :airplane:

Btw, he didn't use all those exact words... his words were more, shall we say... "grittier".  He even vox PMs me asking if I'm a (insert mean female related name) and afraid to show.  All full of himself and how superior he was than me, a nooby at the time, and how bad he claimed the other guy was.

I get to the agreed upon spot on the map and no friendlies in sight... the other guy on my team decided to not show.  So then I see Mr Big Talk in a Spitfire and realize it was just gonna be me and him in my Spitfire. :pray

We turned a couple of times...  :joystick: ... and POW right into his aeroplane my rounds went.   Poof!  He's gone.  I was all alone in the sector.

Mr Big Talk was stunned...  :O you shoulda heard him on ch200... but at least he was big nuff to admit it was a fair fight and I had won.  I had never heard such a begrudgingly forced public admission in Aces High... and still haven't. :aok

He then spent the day begging for another chance at me... begging over and over, pleading even.  I refused.  Intentionally, to let him linger in his popped Mr. Big Talk bubble for a full day. :ahand

I did fight him again the next day to ease his pain and he promptly outturned my Spitfire in his Hurricane several times.  I won't mention any names... but I will offer this picture showing Mr. Big Talk pleading "Please, let's fight again... please.... please...", he would beg.

I never heard such sweet sounds resulting from me winning a fight.  I got text PMs, vox PMs, ch200... it was awesome... and all as a result of one fight, whose memory still lasts through today. :)

I will offer this link though as a hint:

Drove a m4 75 off base to the enemy gv spawn hoping id predicted where the horde would be attacking next. Couple of uppers nothing major so decide to roll back towards our town just as the horde arrives. Still a couple of K from town so hide in some trees, pop a panzer and wirb and then roll off to town as im trundling in a niki spots me get in my pintle gun put 3 rounds into him and he augers.
just as i reach edge of town hear the calls m3s running turn turret around and theres an m16 following me form their spawn promptly pop him and the 1st m3. An m3 goes past me trying to get to town on my right i focus on shooting him and totally miss traverse turret and an m3 has just overtook me 100 yards infront so he goes boom. continue rolling to map room couple of acks pop which bought me the vital seconds to get into town 3rd m3 runs past me kill him, arrive at map room to find the m3 i missed hiding against the wall hit him with an He round right in rear tracks the shell impact cartwheels him over the other side of the wall where he releases his troops which i promptly gun down.
At this time im feeling invincible and this is only further enhanced when a 110 comes in at a much to shallow angle and i pop his wing off with a shell. I then decide to roll out and finish off the m3 that i cartwheeled over the wall as i roll out he starts pinging me with his 50 cal just as i finish him a niki dives in tracks me i flip over and am sat upside down in the middle of the road in town. I go to land my 13 kills and click the end sortie button expecting the old name in lights and i get a (insert expletive here ) Ditch lol.

To further add to my misery they get the base 2 mins later knew i should of stayed hidden near the maproom lol

My fondest memories are definitely the 2-3 hour missions I used to always do with a couple friends to sneak V-15 with a spawn to the HQ on that small map whose name escapes me at the moment. Flying at 50ft through those valleys and hills in a goon was very challenging and a lot of fun to pull off the few times we didn't miserably crash miles from our destination, or miraculously land on a hill completely out of energy only to clip a wing on a shrub. :rofl

Well, there was this one hotshot I engaged for a couple of passes, and then I was bingo fuel and had to run for it.  I had a faster plane so I got away, but then had to throttle back as I was running on vapours.  The whole time he's on channel trash talking and going on about how he's going to track me down, and he followed me all the way to the base, catching up steadily.  I'm out of fuel on final.  I'm gliding it in, he catches up at last and comes diving in at warp speed to claim his victory.  I duck out of the way, barely, as tracers whip past and he goes storming over, pulls it up and around to come down for another pass.

Ack kills him.  I get the proxy and land the kill ten seconds later.  Salute brother, anytime!

Can't remember what map it was on, I was flying as Rook and we had been getting bombed from the base to our west. Two of us decided we would go over and take out ords at that base, I took a Jug he was in a P38.
We got over the base and it was all quiet so it looked like it would be a quick drop and off home for tea, I was going to take out the VH at the same time so I had two 1000lb'rs toggled. As I started my turn I saw people start spawning on the runway, it was a mission and quite a large one, I just changed my angle slightly and dropped both bombs on the end of the runway, BOOOOM and 15 kills. I asked on range if he managed to drop and yes he had another 8 kills, We laughed all the way back to our base with a bunch of these guys chasing us.

ok flying a 262 under dar in pretty rough terrain to enemy base notice bunch of enemy icons noe nearby. They didn't see me. Work around to their six looks like all 110s in single file trying to stay under dar heading to our base. I'm like "omg, this is too good to be true!!!". Work my way in slowly and start popping them one by one. Eventually after about 16 or so the alarm gets back from downed pilots that something's killing them. They start to scatter but it's too late. The whole mission goes down. Landed 22 kills that sortie.  :D

While back I was helping to defend a airfield that was under close cv attack, lots of bad guy, the attack had been going on for a while. Shore battery's are down and they had just killed the bomber hangers and fighter hangers. We still have fighters in the air and are heavily defending the the town but are worn down in a matter of Min's. Shore battery pops and starts shooting at cv. Our vh is up so I role a tank to the shore line its a m4/76 and this is one of the bases where the town is close to the field but very close to the water. Their cv goes down right when I'm getting in postion between the town and shore but the town is finally white flagged again. Suddenly Lvts start spawning in 200 feet in front of me by the dozen feet dry and on the edge of town. We have no aircraft in the air but neither do they at this point. After the first 6 or so kills they start upping lvt3s and quickly track my tank but that's ok they are still spawning right in front of me. I sat there for 5 Min's at least, only one got by me and a wirb that made it to the map room got him. They finally stopped upping, supplies were brought to me and I landed over 25kills cant remember the exact amount but man luck was with me that day :t

One of my favorite moments was when JG5 and friends went to the WW1 arena. I had a wicked awesome and fun sortie that I'll post the film of since video looks a heck of a lot better than words!  :aok

Basically I'm stuck in a continuous fight for about 10 minutes all alone. Everything from 1v1, 2v1, up to 3v1 non-stop for 10 minutes! I'd be fighting 1 D7 and then an F1 Camel jumps in. Finish off the D7 and an F2B takes his place. Kill the F1 and F2B and the D7 comes back. Kill the D7 and the Camel is back. Kill him and the D7 and F2B are back. Just planes coming non stop! The amazing thing is I somehow survive all the attacks! After kill #9 I finally get a break and head for home.

This is that sortie >>> http://www.mediafire.com/download/e4tr9rm6l23dh9p/WW1.ahf

Another one of my favorites that I saved the film of.

What do you do when there are 20 some bish nikis NOE into your base and only 2 of you are airborne to intercept in time? Obviously you dive into the cloud of red and kill them all! Then you hunt down their 3 goons and kill them all as well! Ok, ok, so maybe I only killed 8 of them, and 1 of the goons kills himself in terror, but I still loved busting this mission up.  :D

I'm trying to get back to base without getting killed after bagging about 13 when they start popping up, in force, I'm yelling on squad vox ,,supplies,, help ,,, anything,,, I was all alone in a panzer with not a lot of ammo left, Alpha81 ups a m-3 and starts heading towards me while Weasle6 is flying overhead calling them out,  I'm running in reverse as fast as I can, and killing all of them,, I couldn't believe I was still alive,, there was probably 7 or 8 of them and they just kept coming,,, Alpha dropped me some supplies ,I picked them up but kept running, thinking other tanks would come help but no one got there very soon,, we fought a running battle for over 3.5 k shooting while moving the whole way,,  I hit concrete and landed 56  or so.   Can't remember for sure tho
Got saluted by them all tho,,, felt good!!!!

My most memorable sortie would have to be the DGSII scenario frame I

Our mission plan was to rendezvous with the 2nd Bomb Division over the North Sea,  north of the Holland. From there we would fly SE past Wilhelmshaven and Bremen, then we would turn direct south in grid 11,14,8,5 to Brunswick. From there 2nd Bomb Division would hit the Messerschmitt Me-110 Component Factory located in 11,13,6,1 at Brunswick Germany.

I was flying P-51's with the 355th FG The Steeple Morden Strafers. We were flying rear guard for the bombers on this mission. When we air started the sky began to quickly fill with fighters and bombers alike. We began to take up positions with the 352nd FG callsign "Topsy" and the 20th FG "Horseback". As we formed up with the B-24's of the 2nd Bomb Division, we began our trip into Germany. Before we passed over Wilhelmshaven we encountered a destroyer group which put up one mean field of ack fire, wounded a 20th FG Mustang and he turned SW to land in Holland. After we passed Wilhelmshave the 352nd and the 20th FG began to sweep ahead of the main force of bombers. As we approached Bremen, we ran into more flak and a ton of it. The sky was black with AA bursts. Me and Redtail got caught in the AA fire as we began a left hand turn over the bomber stream. I was more nervous there than in combat against our Luftwaffe adversaries, I knew one direct hit could kill me or destroy my aircraft, leaving me trapped burn to death as she spiraled to the ground.

As we approached the RP a three-ship flight of 190s passed over the bomber stream, later reports of 109's came out from the 352nd FG. As the bombers began to turn south towards Brunswick, I spotted a large gaggle of 190's and 109's coming in from the bombers 3-to 4'O clock position. Over the R/T I heard reports of Check 6's  and calls of fighters coming in. The R/T was going crazy; I could hardly concentrate at first, as I followed Redtail in. As we rolled in I spotted a FW-190 A8 trying to sneak up on Red, I closed in to with 300 meters, before I began to pour short burst into his ship. He rolled down to the right missing a flap. I broke off being trailed by 2 190's. The 190's broke down and I followed them down to where Red was chewing up a 190 of his own (which turned out to be the one I shot up). We were about 12k chewing up some 190's and a few 109's. I pursued a 190 that I hit in the right wing, taking off a few pieces. When I heard from Bacon8tr (352nd FG pilot) "BFOOT 190 coming down on you with smash break right." I broke right and he chased me around. I kept looking behind me, when I saw tracer fire whiz past the cockpit, then behind the cockpit I heard a loud bang, followed by two other loud bangs on my left wing. I was jerking the plane left and right, I was rolling and reversing, but he was hot on my six. Then out of nowhere here came Redtail and Triton out of the sun, and blasted the 190 out of the sky.

I pulled up and I found Redtail and Triton, who had also found 80hd, Towerdog, and Rengde28. We vectored to meet the bombers and the fighters at Kassel, after the heavies hit the secondary target at Gotha. However, we dove in on several FW-190's and 109's who had just shot down a P-38. We dove in and I remained high for top cover. I noticed a 109 trying to drop in behind Red so I dove in and he never saw me coming. I opened up from about 350 meters, getting good hits in the engine cowling, the cockpit, and the belly of the K-4. He began to pour smoke, AV gas, and coolant as he tumbeled to the ground. I shot up another 109 K-4, and he sprung a radiator leak. During the fight a 109 shot down Redtail. The 109 began to pursue me, I called out over the R/T for help but all I heard was static from the R/T, I called out again and this time it was Badcore who helped me out. He dove on the 109, and he broke away and went vertical after Badcore. I came in grinning knowing that my opponent was about to stall out. As the 109 began to roll over, I hit him with my .50's and his plane was shredded and torn to pieces. Me and badcore climbed out as we headed to Holland, Gldnbb gave us cover for awhile but he banked away to help out in a fight. In the process I looked back to just casually check my six, and low and behold there was a 190 no less than 800 meters out. "BADCORE, BREAAAAKKK RIGHT NOWWW!" I called out over the R/T. Badcore avoided his horrendous cannon fire. Then I heard another frightening sound. BANG, BAANG; I was hit again. I was hit in the engine with an oil leak and I was missing my right flap. Badcore came back down and fought off the bastard as I limped to base. I put my mustang down on the runway and taxied to the hangar for picture and then shut her down.

I got four kills in the mission, and it was the most awesome experience I've had in Aces High it put me back in the seat of P-51 in 1944 dogfighting for my life. Here is what my P-51 looked like when the scenario was over.

Sitting in my parent's spare room during the last christmass break, shoulder to shoulder with my dad and brother (who was in town with his family from Hawaii) on three different computers. It wasn't what we did in game that makes it one of my "best AH stories" but that we got to do it together sitting side by side in the same room.  :)
