I've pondered the same thing. The fact the lift was "temporary" would indicate the hammer is perhaps being raised for an even higher swing.
I've also thought that it might be someone's thesis if they were getting a doctorate in social psychology. Seeing that this BBS was basically sanitized prior to the temporary lift it might make an interesting starting point for a social experiment..... but that's the scientist in me. Also not my field, so meh.

I remember rolling through the Pocono Mountains on my way to upstate NY a few years ago and, having never seen the Pocono Mountains, thoroughly enjoyed the scenery. But, there were these windmills at the mountain tops and on every ridge. This went on for 40 miles it seemed. It did take away from the scenery, but it was also comforting knowing that maybe we can keep those trees and mountains around a while because of said "monsters." But, I am pro-environment.

On bird population destruction, he is correct. Windmills account for an estimated 140k to 500k birds each year (US Fish and Wildlife Service). Domesticated cats in the United States alone in 2013 killed an estimated 3.7 billion birds (Smithsonian Biology Institute and US Fish and Wildlife Service). Even if that number is 300% exaggerated, which I have no reason to believe, that is a billion birds. To put that in perspective, windmills account for .05% of the bird deaths that cats are responsible for each year in the United States.
All I have done here is take exactly what the president said and lazily looked for sources and facts to back those claims. Pretty simple academics.

Even if that number is 300% exaggerated, which I have no reason to believe, that is a billion birds. To put that in perspective, windmills account for .05% of the bird deaths that cats are responsible for each year in the United States.
All I have done here is take exactly what the president said and lazily looked for sources and facts to back those claims. Pretty simple academics.

You give the whole story a bit much. Trump has the ability to do as he pleases without much of a political restraint. "Try it, what have you got to lose." That is exactly the mind set we would not get from the swamp. They dont have the guts to do what is right. Many in the media cried foul to hear that. And would try to label him a bleach dealer. Others se it as removing the medical red tape that will not allow Americans to get potential life saving treatments. Getting nothing or ineffective remdesimir shots because there is no other option is the swamps position.

For a month or more after the convention I considered voting 3rd party.But I voted for Trump because my view was that Hillary would take us down a bad path. Trumps promise on the SC nominees was worth the risk. Hence Trump was the less of two evils.

But to answer in one phase, Trump was the first president since Regan that earned conservatives trust by constantly fighting for conservative values.

In Reagan's case, conservative values were making the lower class even more separated from the upper class. With the economic acts in his first term, he lowered the taxes on the super rich by a great margin. The Recovery Act of 1981 lowered taxes across the board, but the highest brackets took the biggest cut, therefore enabling further economic inequality. The 1982 tax increase removed a tax cut at the bottom and middle, but kept tax cuts (especially those for corporations) at the top. In 1984, he closed many loopholes that allowed lower and middle class citizens to forgo some taxes, therefore increasing taxes on the lower and middle class. Reagan was only interested in removing government from business and allowing the rich to continue being the ruling class. He spoon fed it to the public with the idea that the wealth at the top would find its way to the bottom. It still hasn't.

Intellectuals are a wonderful oddity. Great at theory on paper, but they're the guy that always gets sent off searching for "headlight fluid" and "elbow grease" in the real world.
