Yah another PBS and have to be American to watch.
https://www.pbs.org/video/climate-change-the-facts-ua6lmf/?msclkid=431fa63bc76411ec978d32a320f03261
Scientists explore the impact of climate change and what could happen if global warming exceeds 1.5 degrees. Discover how the latest innovations and technology are posing potential solutions and what individuals can do to prevent further damage.
Those of the Egyptian river cult will naturally make excuses.

Any info on what caused the North American glaciers to melt, leaving the Great Lakes, etc?

Here's a fact: Climate affects weather (2 related but separate things) not the other way around. ;)

deflect verb
de·flect | \ di-ˈflekt , dē- \
deflected; deflecting; deflects
Definition of deflect
transitive verb
: to turn (something) aside especially from a straight course or fixed direction
armor that deflects bullets
deflecting attention from the troubled economy
deflect a question

If we ever can control the world's weather I am sure we will screw it up as bad as most others things we have touched..
I think it's always been more political than actual a proven fact...best guess at most
See Al Gore and others each burning more carbon credits in a month than 50 of us together could in a year but that's ok because they can afford it?
Political action to control private industries by so called free governments...like other things we have recently been experiencing

Once again, an easy analogy. WEATHER is the clothes you're wearing today. CLIMATE is your entire wardrobe. Weather changes frequently and sometimes drastically. Climate changes on a geologic timeframe.

Granted without qualification. The current warming trend has been going on for 25,000 years, yet we are led to believe that humankind's influence has drastically sped it up in the last 150 years or so. Greens have blamed it on everything from cow farts to carbon emissions.
Fifth grade science says that all green plants need water, carbon dioxide, and sunlight to survive. What are the major greenhouse gases as identified by the greens? Carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapor.
The truth is, in a sealed environment, those three gases won't change and will remain more or less constant in volume. However, with the introduction of the free radical, a single oxygen atom, commonly known as ozone, the whole system changes.
With the addition of ozone (O1), methane (HC4) resolves into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H20). Additionally, those catalytic converters, that hyped the greens up so much 35 years ago, convert unused unleaded gasoline into... wait for it... carbon dioxide and water.
The reasoning behind the catalytic converters is that a) they have to have unleaded gas, so they prevent the release of more lead into the atmosphere, and b) carbon dioxide and water is much better for life all around than carbon monoxide and lead and whatever else. Even so, internal combustion engines that release carbon monoxide aren't as poisonous as you might think, because, in an atmosphere that contains ozone, carbon monoxide will convert into carbon dioxide.
And where do we get ozone? Lightening strikes produce ozone as well as active volcanoes. But, interestingly enough, electrical systems, transformers, generators, alternators, and high voltage wires create ozone from the surrounding air. Even a low voltage electric fence, such as the one I have around my pasture, produces ozone.
As a side note, animals can smell ozone, and that's how they know whether or not an electric fence is working. If you ever had a model railroad set as a kid, the aroma produced by the AC transformer comes from the ozone it produced.
And now, since I've given plenty of points from my detractors to find fault with everything but the punctuation, I'll stop.

The electric cars can't exist without fossil fuel. No tires, no batteries, no plastic. Tesla's battery plant is full of plastic, from the batteries, to the robots. Before anyone says anything about plant based plastics, do some research on what a can of worms that is opening up.

What ever you hotshots say, but for me its all BS. I can't control the climate, change it or stop it, so I don't worry about it.

Science says the climate has always been changing. If it gets a little warmer we can grow more food. Skeptics want to know the correct temperature.

Way too many individuals and companies getting rich, politicians getting elected, governments gaining more power through regulation and "scientists" gaining notoriety off of MMGW for me to trust this theory. Throw in the lies and exaggerations over the decades and the entire claim screams hoax. We were taught in elementary school (70's) that our state (FL) would be under water within 20 years. Well, here we are. As others have mentioned the climate has always fluctuated. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Ohio was once subtropical and the northern ice cap extended to northern Kentucky?

Half of Montana use to be under water way before humans even touched this planet.

It is possible it would have been but there were measures taken so it didn't happen.

More heat also means more bad storms.
We've been 10 years from disaster for 50 years so the rate seems pretty stable. Noted climate alarmist buying expensive beachfront property also indicates a surprising confidence in stability.
What's the best average world temperature for the best worldwide climate? When did we have that? What's the current average?

What measures have kept coastal Florida from being under water?

US reduction in carbon emissions prevented that, while nations like China and India increased 10 fold. Wow America was great, contrary to the naysayers!

You are badly mis-informed.
If you live in the one of the top 10 (or even 20) most polluted urban areas, air pollution is an issue you have to contend with every day. Here are the concentration levels for the 10 most polluted urban areas in the world today:
1 – Pakistan: 115.7
2 – Qatar: 92.4
3 – Afghanistan: 86
4 – Bangladesh: 83.3
5 – Egypt: 73
6 – UAE: 64
7 – Mongolia: 61.8
8 – India: 60.6
9 – Bahrain: 56.1
10 – Nepal: 50
China, despite numerous reports in recent years about its air pollution being at extremely high levels, manages to miss the top 10 most polluted urban areas and comes in at number 13 with an average PM 2.5 of 41.4. In fact, China has been making a concerted effort to improve air quality levels throughout its major cities. Bloomberg News recently reported China Is Winning Its War on Air Pollution, at Least in Beijing. This is a good sign and shows hope for the people in other heavily polluted cities and countries around the town.

We weren’t discussing fine particulate matter.
We were discussing greenhouse carbon emissions being responsible or not for rising sea levels and coastal areas not being underwater today as claimed over 40 years ago they would be.
On YOUR list, India is #8 and China 13 currently. Even though this is tangential, where do they rank on average over last 30 years…?

Since when does lying stealing cheating china tell the truth about anything or allow anyone else report anything about them not officially approved by its leaders...
The only truth about China is it is even less trust worthy than most western governments and that is pretty bad...

@Arlo, interesting post.
It's not that there is misinformation or news that is not perfectly center, it is that there are so many willing to believe talking heads that provide no legit facts or sources. That says more about human nature than anything else.
I wonder why seemingly "educated" people are so willing to hand over their brain to believe false truths. GLUED to watching pundits that fan Autocracy rather than the unification of Democracy and the American people. The truth is we have more in common than these extreme pundits want us to believe. However, some pundits are committed to making short-term profits at the expense of Democracy's stability.
If enough people could muster the courage to stop watching their BS they'd have to change what they spew. We still have minds and can think for ourselves right!? You know what to do then. :old:

The Power of Big Oil (Part One: Denial)
FRONTLINE’s three-part series The Power of Big Oil examines the fossil fuel industry’s history of denying climate change by delaying action and casting doubt on scientific research. Part One: Denial charts the fossil fuel industry’s early research on climate change and investigates the efforts to sow seeds of doubt about the science.

From reading that, you should understand why true conservatives, not RINO Bush followers, are so angry about what is taking place in America.
He mentions, high costs: land, labor, regulations, taxes, ect. With very little or no incentive to make us competitive to the world. You see, all of those nations don't have costs like we do because the countries we get our oil from are run by people who know what their biggest commodity is, and thus do everything they can to keep prices low, which usually means poor working standards, poor regulations, low wages, and cheap production standards. Who cares about all of that when its not your country :rofl. We should be looking for ways to compete against that and incentivize American business. Infact in SA, its moslty Americans/internationals working there. These leaders actually have full control over the gas and oil industry, and what happens when they control the business of selling oil. The leaders reap the rewards and may or not give it back to the people. Only 3% actually work in SA, but im sure living there and not working is an absolute blast! My father told me all about it after working there.
In America, leaders don't have control per say, but they can make it a living nightmare for a business who wants to compete. In order for their investment in the businesses they want to succeed, ie wind, solar, electric. Who cares about the byproducts of those though. Who cares where Electric batteries get mined. So they will actually hurt the American oil business to spite America's success because they want to build up their business and agenda, which is not what they should be doing. He was also right about using it as a political carrot and stick, just like Marijuana. Though, atleast we had someone actually perform their word and get them lower in the last administration. Funny how we got lower prices even though more American oil companies were producing. That's what happens when you add more supply and allow American businesses to compete.
His article also reminds me of why we tried to take over Syria. Good ole Genie Oil, which I'm sure none of you want to mention. Funny how it's okay to have a pipeline run thru that country after we try to take out its leader, but who cares about all of that. I'm sure Loz Cheney and her father Rinos know ALL about that. Now do you see how they are all on the same side now?
