You Boomers remind me of my parents. Always beotching about those dang computers and cell phones. Complaining about the interweb.
Meanwhile the VCR on their TV has been flashing 12:00AM since 1985.

My friends parents (super libs) are too afraid to get a smart phone and learn how to use it, knowing full well it would make their lives so much easier. They just dont wanna learn it. Craziest thing.
Smart phones are the real problem, unfortunately there is just no way people will have enough discipline to get rid of them sn masse to make a difference.

The problem isn't smart phones, it's stupid people.
If you smashed every smart phone, they'd jsut find another way to be stupid.
Eugenics.

Have you driven on the streets lately? Nothing smart about "smart phones".

With smart phones on the roads I don't ever wanna hear someone complain about self-driving cars being unsafe.
If you text while driving you're an idiot.

Its more about transferring every faucet of life into a smart phone so you have no other choice but to buy one if you dont have one. Then they can simply put everything on a phone to monitor everything about your life at all times through various apps.

No one forces you. You choose.
You could just use a land-line and pay your bills with paper checks in the Snail-Mail.
Just ask my Mom.

With just about everything dependent on vulnerable electronics today nukes would end civilization.
Bring it.

I think when my kids get to an age where a phone would be useful.. its going to be for text and calling only. No apps, no youtube garbage..no staring into a screen endlessly...
The "cool" friends might poke some fun when they are young.. but at least mine won't turn into a social media zombie.
Id honestly like to home school them, and focus on useful knowledge, keeping them out of the cesspool of terrible parenting in public schools. Not really room in the budget at this time though.

Check out Powerhomeschool, Khan Academy, Dr. Binox, Lotty Learns. There's lots of available resources. We home school 3 kids for less then 1k a year. There's also a tax rebate for up to $1200 per kid for home schooled kids where we live.
Ron Paul also has a home school program that we're looking into for our eldest. It's 550 a year for one student and 1150 for three students.

The Earth would need 2 to 3 centuries for planet-wide healing if humans were removed from the equation, specifically technological civilization. Hunters and gatherers is the future.

It is so funny to watch young, and old phone users glued to their phones with their brain-dead stares. Even worse when they are driving.

I see people weaving in and even out of their lane and I know they are texting. As bad as drunk driving.

Yeah the issue is having one parent home during the daytime hours to accomplish it. We could work opposite shifts, but there is a lot of value to being together as a family on a nightly basis. For now the plan is just to do parenting at 250%, and try to nip bad behavior and the side effects of terrible parenting of other children in the butt.
but really... if you guys don't deal with many young adults, go out of you way to engage in a conversation with them. Between online gaming, technology, and just piss poor parenting... I am surprised some of them are able to even dress them self. They sure as hell cant hold a conversation.
If you let your children of any age spend more than 1 hour on a phone or tablet on a daily basis... shame on you.
