Taking off at A1 nw on ndisles doesn't actually put you on a runway and does put you very close to an AA mound/pit.

Not a bug, the huge airfields have 2 extra spawn points just off the runway.

When in VR, I do not see the player id of the player talking on the radio? Should I be able to see that? In AH2 it was in the upper right hand corner.

  When shooting at bombers from behind: while shooting at primary bomber only, the drones started breaking apart as if getting hits. It was very easy to kill all 3 bombers this way. This occured before the 9/2 patch. This problem appears to have been fixed, (although it wasn't mentioned). However; still seeing flickering on the gauges when in the bomber cockpits. Last night, I logged on to AHIII and vox did not work.  When I attempted to transmit, I could see the highlights in the voice box but I could hear nothing, so I tuned to myself and got the same result.  Highlight... no sound.  (Other game sounds working fine).  The game at least knows I'm attempting to transmit.

I've messed with everything, made sure router and PC firewalls are off (made exceptions for AHIII anyway).  Rebooted.  Uninstalled, downloaded/reinstalled game.  Fiddled extensively with SounblasterZ settings as well as Window's sound configurations. Resetv1/2/3 numerous times in game, tried direct tuning to other people.  Nothing... I can't hear anyone else, and they can't hear me.

This only happens in Open Melee and Special Events II.  All other arena's I could tune to myself and it worked (although, nobody was in any of the other arenas to see if they could hear me).

Patched the game.  Same thing.  Open Melee, Dueling, SpecEventsII, no vox.  All other arena's, Vox works.

It may be intentional or maybe not, but I came across a flak tower gun at the (fuf) refinery strat on CraterMA map. It's a small item:

  I killed a gun on the flak tower and instead of a GNH or GNA gun, it was labeled TRN000 like it was a gun off the train.  I looked in the arena setup, destroy objects list and saw it listed there as TRN000.  I tried detonating it from the object list and immediately the game froze.  It is the only one I have found, because the other strats use a different flak tower.  Anyways, the downtime of the gun labeled TRN was much longer than the others.  Again, not a big thing, but I came across it and thought I would mention it.  Screenshot attached below.

I had the same issue and posted in tech support recently and was able to resolve my issue... the thread should be near the top.

Thanks Vudak... but I think this might be different.  Thing is, Open Melee, Dueling and SpecEventsII are where I can neither send or (receive I have to assume) vox.  I can tune V to myself and hear myself just find in AvA, WW1 and SpecEventsI.

The bomber drone damage bug again.



Was attacking a set of B-24s this time. Overhead attack, hits on the lead bomber only:

Interestingly, while the film was shot in daylight, it's now totally dark in the film viewer each time I load it. I have no idea to get around this but to load it, set time to 8x and wait like 20 minutes. There must be a better way?  :headscratch:

PT spans, pt boats are spanned back into the same exact location, sometimes on top of each other. Once it is ranged, forget it, nothing can survive. Need to broaden the span area, like the GV spans.

That may be true Dobs, but it was never this bad in AH2. Granted they had a couple of good gunnery's ImADot, Lefty, etc. but still way beyond anything in AH2.

When people are, um, "enthusiastically jinking" and on the verge of getting their controls locked up  :bolt: , the game doesn't seem to be able to keep up with their commands on my end because you'll have planes skip frames meaning they're oriented as much (it seems) as 90 degrees differently in one split second - it's not smooth at all and is quite disorienting.

I know that I've run into such enthusiasm in AH2 and it does not look the same there.  I'm getting 60 fps while this is going on so I don't know that it's on my end, though I will attach a recent dxdiag just in case it is.

While driving a panzer the game graphics were replaced with a screen that said installing patch temp/terrset01. I hit ctl-alt-del and then cancel and eas back in the game but driving in the opposite direction from which I had been headed.

Last night I had to Alt F4 out of the game.  I was in the tower and the only things I could do were drop/raise clipboard and expand the radio text buffer.  nothing was mouse clickable.

I am getting complete freezes about every 10-15 minutes that require the task manager to close the game.  Frame rate is around 55-60 FPS with all high end graphics turned off and all sliders to left.  Anyone have some thoughts on why the game may be locking my machine up?

V23 ndisles, was driving m4 between barracks and got grabbed just like trees grab tanks, got slid sideways into the barracks, walls, roof went invisible and I could see and fire out till the barracks got bombed. After barracks were bombed I was still inside, but rubble replaced see thru walls/roof. A player drove completely around the building and could see my icon over the building but not the m4.  Screenshot in attachment below.

When I tab out the game completely disappears from my task bar, but still shows as running in the task manager. I am unable to tab back in without force closing the game and restarting it.

I used the CTRL S command to highlight Squadron members.  While it did highlight the squad members, it also highlighted three other people where were not members of our squadron and indeed, some were members of another squadron.  This causes confusion as to who is, or is not a member while highlighted  :(

I've had a bout of hitting the windows key. With the DX11 version the game crashes, but it still shows as running as a background process. I have to "End task" before I can start another copy. The same thing happens if you alt-tab.

This is the exact problem I am having! Thank you thought I was going crazy trying to duplicate what was causing this problem.

When I play AH3, Windows 10 caution little memory.
But I play continue , CTD.
My PC run Windows 10 64bit and has 32GB memory I think memory leak AH3.

We ran a practice in Special Events 2 area.

Vox was not working for anyone there (about 6 of us).

It works in offline practice mode, but not in that arena.

Had two screen freezes.  Both could not be saved with task manager.  Had to restart computer.

I continue to have two mouse pointers when logging in.

Vox and myself reported occasional  guns failing to fire.  I use TARGET but other reporting gun firing problems were not using target.

Every time I attempt to long on(complete long on requirements) the game just closes out. Using DX11  Maybe its better to say the game crashes the moment i long in.

So the problem is back.  Alt-tab appears to entirely log out of AHIII, but it also prevents you from re-booting AHIII or even AHII.

Ctrl-Alt-Delete and check the Process tab. End task on AcesHigh and then you can restart the program.

I'm running the Task Manager in a second monitor.

The game started up at around 600,000k in the AvA tonight. After awhile, it climbs to ~800,000.
When it hits about 1,000,000k I know I'm about to lock up. Windows told me I'd run out of memory once this afternoon while setting up the arena. That's pretty hard to do. SEE Win error report.

Usually the lockups were happens when dealing with the clipboard, most often while changing arena settings and even more frequently bouncing between tower, roster, hanger, arena settings, radio bar etc.

I had my first white screen recently. Tonight in the middle of AvA War the game locked up hard twice forcing a ctrl+alt+del and at least 2 more times I was able to alt+tab or alt+f4 to escape. After that, I paid better attention to the memory status and simply shut it down and relaunched.

Lately I haven't tried Dx9 to see if it's any better.

That worked!  Thank you!

But this is a problem that needs a better solution.  People like me, who are TrackIR-dumb, need to switch back and forth to adjust things.

Old timer here who's been away a while. First time checking out the beta.

Cannot get headphones/mic to work.  Game starts fine on speakers, but if I change any item from speakers to headphones the sound mutes from the speakers but does not come through the headphones, THEN when I check it back to speakers, they stay muted.  I then have to completely shut down the game and restart it to get any sound at all.

I see that now, got the latest drivers from AMD, just gonna have to wait and see.

I have AMD too but a different series.  My screen freezes can not be closed with the task manager.

I think Wezel too has the same two mouse pointer problem.

Negative.  It just locks up.  Game is gone, and the EXE file is still running in processes on the Task Manager.  Process has to be ended manually.

Tehre you go. "Squad Highlight" is actually "Squad and Voice Highlight", which should also be shown in the text buffer. The other guys happened to be on the same voice channel as you, 101, which is the default voice channel.

Flickering gauge in B-17.

Occasional "flashes" in the sky.  Looked like a lightning storm for about 15 seconds.

"Dot" goes from very visible to very small to invisible before icon shows.  (2540 x 1440 screen res,  4096 texture)

  When shooting at bombers from behind: while shooting at primary bomber only, the drones started breaking apart as if getting hits. It was very easy to kill all 3 bombers this way. This occured before the 9/2 patch. This problem appears to have been fixed, (although it wasn't mentioned). However; still seeing flickering on the gauges when in the bomber cockpits. Thanks, 1EAGLE1.

I got the same thing last night. I lost a drone to enemy fire and it isn't listed as a lose. Later I was killed in my main plane and the drone exploded as well and both of those kills were posted but the guy only shot up one plane.

Just in case it might help, two more films with the drone damage bug. Another set of 24s and a set of B17s. I rake the lead, the drones fall apart or outright explode with the lead still tuggin' on.
As for now, I can't really recommend flying bombers in AHIII if you expect to get intercepted ;)

When using the mouse to control the turret, it works as advertised. When supplies are out, mouse cursor is enabled (as if the clipboard was open) and I cannot move the turret or fire, the joystick still does operate it though. Once the supplies are gone, mouse cursor disappears and things are back to normal (turret control). Other users have reported the same. I ahve double check the mode etc. it is supplies related. Repeatable in tank and wirble.

Was attacking a set of B-24s this time. Overhead attack, hits on the lead bomber only:

Interestingly, while the film was shot in daylight, it's now totally dark in the film viewer each time I load it. I have no idea to get around this but to load it, set time to 8x and wait like 20 minutes. There must be a better way?  :headscratch:

I have been on the receiving end of this on multiple occasions, usually the drones mirror each other's damage, even if only one is hit. I also have the same issue that Lusche is having.

While on CV13, I was watching 3 gunners firing the 8" guns.  In the screenshots below, you can see the muzzle flashes from the guns, but the tracers of the rounds originate behind the lead ship where the guns are located.  This gave the appearance that the rounds were coming from the ocean surface.  I was in cv tower in god mode.

This shows the shadow that is not always visible, but that is sometimes seen on either, or both sides of a vehicle. Camera shadow, or container object shadow of some invisible object.

Just for troubleshooting I downloaded ran AH2, and my headset works perfectly.  But still cannot get it working in AH3.

There is currently a bug with it. A squaddie has the same problems. If you want to swap sounds between headset and speakers, you have to relog to get the sound settings to swap.

Selected a base in control tower and went to arena selection screen. Ctrl_alt-Del and cancel put me back in tower.

Friendly GV icon completely covers enemy town on map even when not on vox making town impossible to see even regardless of zoom.

Took off with B26s only to discover I had no drones. Tried to bail at 4000ft and immediately crashed.

Took off in B26's again. In F3 saw drones lift off from runway and then disappear. Flew for a few minutes to 4,000ft. No drones. Bailed and was moved to a drone. Bailed again and was in 3rd drone. Guess they were cloaked.

Created an arena to get the Tunisia terrain.  Tried a B26.  One of the cross hairs was missing.

Attacked two sets of bombers coming in from two directions but several K apart.  One was a b24 and the other set tu2.  The drone images, at a distance, in the tu2 set became B24 images.

I've noticed for a while now that the sun just seems too bright.  I've collected some screenshots to illustrate what I'm talking about.  In the first, the detail of the clouds are just lost completed to the whiteness, in other instances it looks like large-scale pixellation in the area of the reflection.

When in a plane at 1-2k alt, all of the tree shadows have strange flat bottoms.

Other things are much better than before. Shadows are not as stuttery or blocky.

Gauges still too dark and blurry with usable fov.

With the Rift headset the selection pointer is out of focus, you see two, when looking at the text buffer. This makes it hard to select the drop down menus. Also the drop down menu for V won't let me select anything even though I can highlight it, I have to use dot commands to select squad or mission.

The video memory VM INTERNAL DM SNAP line is askew.

The movie screen for the new beta missions is too bright to read.

The Bf109 is listed as allied and the Spit/F4U as axis in the new missions.

To much green at low light. I love the green/Pacific look of the game but at sunrise the green just blotches all over the place. I wasnt going to say anything but a few players mentioned it in vox when it happened yesterday. Overall looking at the ground while flying is very pleasurable. The clouds look great.

I logged on 2 minutes before map change, after map change the new map had the same problem.
Tried to reboot, but it didn't help.
Another that was online told me he had the problem yesterday, but it was ok now.

I was parked in the Melee arena downloading skins and it was CraterMA.
A couple of hours into that the map changed and I received a system out of memory error.

I closed the game and then went back in and it was Ndisles map  and parked to continue downloading skins with no problem.

I can't remember where/if I posted this before.
The #2 Smooth BiLiner tool under the Elevations tab in the TE is instantaneous regardless of the setting in the text box. If used, the value in the box is closer to milliseconds then seconds.

After seeing an ME163 doing dog fighting tactics, I decided to take one up for a spin.  Off Line.
I took off from a field at 2000 feet.
I took readings from the instruments every minute of the flight using the AH Film Viewer to paus the recording.  I used the < to indicate less than the fuel marking on the gauge, and > to indicate greater than the fuel marking.
I had to frequently adjust the throttle to control the buffeting.  (In a Rocket Engine?)

My first surprise was when I saw that it was not really a rocket engine.  Unless rocket engines back then had a “throttle control” which could adjust how fast the fuel was burned.  I did not take the time to try to see how far, long, or at what speed I could fly this using fuel control to keep fuel use to a minimum.
I really thought that the ME163 was light the fires and go fast.  When engine is empty, glide through bomber formations and return to base, if possible.  Now we have a truly fast “Jet Fighter”
Many people may think this is a little over modeled.

It did have throttle control in real life. It is much more successful in AH than it ever was in real life, but so are every other aircraft in the game.

Is it me...or is the CV Ack absolutely ridiculous???

Flying bombers to drop a CV now almost useless. Guys picking us off at 10K, 15K like pieces of paper out of the sky.

HiTech - Take a look at today alone for kills from w00ki3 and tunes3 off CV20.

The CV ack may need some tweaking / tuning...although admittedly once the bomber damage model is fixed maybe it will be fine as is. Not sure if you really hate us bomber pilots...but there are a lot of us that fly those almost exclusively and really turning us off the new game...

Appreciate your time & efforts..sorry for the rant...just frustrated.

When in flight and cut throttle to idle engine is still revved up quite a bit and does not go to idle unless on landing / runway. I noticed this today in Lanc's in particular.

Many people may think this is a little over modeled.

The throttle had 5 positions, idle,start, stages 1 - 3. Thrust was controllable from 20 -100%. The gauges in game don't match the actual aircraft. There were two thrust gauges as well as the RPM gauge for the turbine supplying fuel to the rocket engine.

"they are engaging our fields" "alert blah blah"

Like they won't play if I"m not looking at the screen. Not sure if that's why I eventually run out of memory or if it's even related so I figured I'd mention it.

Over the weekend, 4 September, I saw a semi auto pistol inside a red circle on the opening screen to AHIII.  It showed for a brief moment then disappeared.  I did not note the time, but it occurred during more than one log in.
 
I did not see any encircled pistols on 6 September while I was on line during the evening, or in any films I made.

Today, 6 September, while going through a film I recorded, when I changed from the regular screen size to the full screen, using the square in the upper right hand corner to go from the large box to the double box, not the “Full Screen View” one inside the film viewer menu, the circle then again displayed the semi auto inside the red circle.  The semi auto faded away, but the circle remained.

Is this a new feature of the program, or is it indicative of a problem?

I also noted that the Aces High web page had lost all the photos on the home page as well over the weekend.  Are these two related?
Today, as I logged in to the game at about 0750 hours, Arizona time, I again saw the circle with the semi auto pistol inside it.
 

Is this something that I need to be concerned about?

Is it centered on your monitor? It looks like an aiming aid for a shooting game.

No, it is not centered on he screen.  The new attachment is from earlier this morning at 0803 hours Arizona time.

I did not log in, I think.  I later logged in some time later and no circled semi auto.  This is very curious.  On the sixth, it was always right under the gun site.  Would really like to know what this is and why.
