Join the 303rd Bombardment Group! No skill or experience required. We are training from the beggingin anyway, so any green pilots will learn it all anyway. I dont care how good you are, or how long you have been playing. I just want dedication. You MUST be dedicated, and willing to follow orders to the letter as soon as you hear them. We fly for the knights, primarily B17Gs, under the 303BG/359BS skin. We also operate P47s (As did the real 303rd). We are currently in the formation and training phase, however certain pilots have already been assigned aircraft. If you want to learn to fly bombers, or if you know how, and want to join a squad to fly next to you, contact the 303rd. We are only accepting applications for one more week, so apply now! Also, for those of you who want to learn more about the aircraft themselves, every day I will post a breif history of each aircraft in the 303rd "Hells Angels". To join hells angels:

B-17F 41-24559 Ooold Soljer

"With nose art inspired by a Disney cartoon featuring 'Pluto' in the Army,Ooold Soljer was one of 35 original 303rd B-17Fs delivered to Kellog Field, Michigan, between 11 September 1942 and 2 October. Assigned to captain Lewis E Lyle's crew, it was aptly named. Lyle became the most honored and respected combat leader in the 303rd, serving throughout the war, and flying over 69 missions. Tragically, eight of Lyle's crew died on 31 March, 1943, flying for the first time with a new pilot when Ooold Soljer collided with the 358th BS' "Two Beauts" during group assembly. It was the 18th mission for this squadron 'flagship'" -303rd Bombardment Group, by Brian D O'Neil

B-17F 41-24561 'The Dutchess' of the 358th BS

"1Lt Jack W Mathis, bombardier on Lt Stouse's crew, received the Medal of Honor posthumously for his conduct during a raid against a U-boat yard at Vegesack on 27 March 1943. A 303rd original The Dutchess completed 59 missions before returning to the USA on July 7 1944 for a war bond tour. By then it had the second highest group B-17F mission total, and was the longest-serving F-model Fortress in entire 8th Air Force." -303rd Bombardment Group, by Brian D O'Neil

B-17F 41-246562 'Sky Wolf' of the 358BS

"A 303rd original, and initialy assigned to Lt Carl Morales's crew, Sky Wolf proved extremely reliable and duly became a lead ship. The waist-art, painted by PFC Bernard Kastenbaum, depicts a winged-wolf shooting a bomb-tipped arrow." -303rd Bombardment Group, by Brian D O'Neil

Just a few little tid-bits:

1) the 303rd had 3 miraculous survival stories: 1 tail gunner was hurled from his plane when his position was shot off. He fell 20,000 feet WITHOUT a parachute, fell through a glass roof on a train station, and was caught up in some netting, and SURVIVED!!!

A waste-gunner was hurled from his plane when the whole aircraft exploded. He too didnt have a parachute, but miraculously, as he was falling a chute fell onto his arms! He had only to strap it to his chest, and he parachuted to safety.

A nose-gunner fell from his plane when the cone was shattered. He was entirely unconcious, but he woke up floating to the ground with no memory of pulling his chute-cord.

2) The 303rd BG biatch slapped the luftwaffe, when reichsmarschal Goering's OWN NEPHEW flew 49 missions with the 303rd BG BOMBING GERMANY!!! HAH! Take that luftwaffe!

I gave up on fighters after my first fight. I have always loved bombers. And, um, what is the significance of that last post?
