Not much to say about friendly collisions just collisions in general I hate the one being shot down and the one that collided flies home

A really simple aid to realism would be to turn on friendly collisions and the ability to shoot friendlies.   You'd have to be more careful in furballs and especially when five of you are ganging up on that lone con that's desperately trying to avoid a certain death.    You'd have to be careful landing and taking off - and you'd be cursing the friendly wirble sitting in the middle of the runway.  The key thing is that this wouldn't take any HTC time to accomplish.   Switch 'em on HiTech!

IMHO, for the MA, this is a Very Bad Idea.  All it would take is one nasty griefer to spoil the fun for a whole lot of folks.

FSO, however, normally is run with the "kill-shooter" turned off.  This encourages careful selection of targets, yet even though everyone knows it is there, this still causes one or two friendly fire deaths almost every frame.  I don't know if the friendly collision thing has ever been tried in FSO.  The mass take-off at the beginning of a frame would be a disaster, so I suspect this has not been tried, for good reason.

In FSO, killshooter is turned on for the first few minutes of the frame - in case someone's trigger button is stuck or dropping bombs on the runway explode. After the chaos of mass-takeoffs, killshooter is turned off for the rest of the night.

To my knowledge, friendly collisions has never been enabled, but could be after everyone is in the air (just like killshooter is adjusted after takeoff). I don't think it's a good idea though, many in FSO strive to fly like the real thing and try to stay in tight formations. Due to hiccups and lag, it would be too easy to have a friendly collision while trying to maintain a close formation.

Do you plan on adding an air traffic controller? Half the damn population would be towering because of collisions on the runway  :rofl
