Personally, I enjoy the nights.  All kinds of strange things come out when the sun goes down and it's worth looking for them.  For instance, on some maps PTs can spawn from nme bases near your base, and at night it's like schooling fish.  Only they leave wakes so it's easier for you to kill them than vice versa.  Talk about a seagull feeding frenzy ;).  And even with monitor and gama settings tweaked, the dark still causes some problems.  The best one is that the sight for the twin 5" guns on CVs basically disappears, so if you want to sink a CV and live, do it at night :).

maybe i should eat some carrots? ;)

You should not have your brightness all the way up.  It will make you visibility at night worse as this prevents gray shades from rendering properly (if at all).

Nighttime

Pros:
(a) Limits the numbers of Spitfires, LA-7s, and N1K2s that are in the air;
(b) Limits the possibility of ground vehicles being spotted from the air; and
(c) Breaks up the monotony of having the same lighting all the time.

Cons:
(a) Spit, LA-7, and N1K2 pilots can't see.

There you have it.  The Pros outweigh the Cons.  Now get out of your baby rides and fly real men's planes.

By the way, I scored my all-time record for most kills without a death while doing short-range base defense at night, without radar.   11 kills, the last 3 while missing a wing gun. I tried to land several times, but the Bishops kept coming!

In a realistic setting with realistic night fighters/bombers it might be fun.  In the MA it is not.

I agree

So I get up Sunday morning, grab a coffee.  Relaxed and wanting to play some, I log on 9:30am pacific and guess what?

THE SUN IN AH MA IS SETTING.

I cant believe it.  I seriously need to just cancel, take some time off.

The gods had foreseen your logging on.

You can't escape your fate.  The Oracle at Delphi has proclaimed that you will discover the true Aces High night fighter.  And the Oracle also says something about marrying your mother and killing your father and you blinding yourself, hence the need to learn to fight in pitch-black darkness.

Look within yourself.  You know this to be true!
