Or alternatively blasting some fool who lauched from a CAP'd base is dis-honorable.Launching from a capped base is not a bad plan if the people in the neighborhood want to let you get up to fight them. You're closer that way, which is important, particularly with early war planes. We have seen quite a few examples of where THIS ACTUALLY WORKS in the CT. Just within the past few weeks I have been involved in fights in Finland and...er...Germany? (with the snow?) where this occurred. No vulching, just people orbiting aways away from the base.
Re: the dishonorable thing. I saw what happened to Mold over in the General Discussions forum, don't want to repeat the experience here. Probably it isn't an honor thing, anyway, it's more of a point-of-the-game issue.
