I quit but I'm back TnDep still some problems heres my specs
« on: August 09, 2009, 08:46:58 PM »
If I detail the water I'm about 15 to 25 on frame rate and if I've got that turned off I'm 45 to 60.  I understand that this laptop isnt top of the line buts its brand new out of the box and upto 830mb on video memory.  I also have green tail's and wings in the planes and enemy plane's/friendlys have square boxes around them, also I see the red outlines around the hanger doors in the design.  Heres my specs I am not running any programs in the background and I deleted the norton hog.  Thanks for your help and I'm glad to be back.

I think I had a similar problem, when you say "boxes around friendlies and nmes" do you mean like white boxes?
Need more details. The problem I had needed HTC help, had to save a couple files to the HTC folder, is stuff whited out? My problem was a problem with the download im guessing due in large part to having to replace several files, once again need more specifics <S>. Im not sure but I think you should be running 64 bits, not just 32.

You have a weak laptop, it just isn't built for gaming.

          Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU          900  @ 2.20GHz, ~2.2GHz
             Memory: 1916MB RAM
Page File: 1140MB used, 2937MB available
        Windows Dir: C:\Windows

Celeron is slower than most, but yours is ok at 2.2, the problem comes from the ram.  You have very little, and if I'm reading this right, most of your ram is coming out of the page swap on your hard drive. Then you have your video....

Chip type: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
         DAC type: Internal
       Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42&SUBSYS_FF671179&REV_07
   Display Memory: 830 MB
 Dedicated Memory: 128 MB
    Shared Memory: 702 MB

Mobile Intel isn't a big 3d video chip. On top of that 702 MB of the ram for video is being pulled from your regular ram which is already running swap files because its too low.  :cry

You'll have to be happy running the game with the lower graphic settings if you want to use that laptop to play.

It is an Intel video chip.  They are the slowest, cheapest video chips in the market. If you want to use it for playing the game you will need to do the following.

1)  Disable "Detailed Terrain".
2)  In the "Video Settings" set the "Maximum Texture Size" to 256.

ok thanks guys, when I bought the laptop it is upgradeable to 4gb of memory instead of 2gb of memory.  My question is would it make a big difference in helping the shared video memory if I looked at upgrading it to 4gb.  The boxes around the planes is black and almost look like a pixel square.

No amount of RAM is going to make the video chip run faster.

Think of the video chip as a CPU.  In today's market, the Intel video chips would be like a 16Mhz 80386 processor.  It simply lacks the processing power and hardware feature support to run the new details.
