It should run it, you do need those drivers for z buffering. Does your card support T&L?

That means Hardware Transform and Lighting. I looked at the specs for the card and didn't see anything about it. I don't know much about your card thats why I ask.

Remember the power supply if your updating an older computer.  Lack of power can kill your performance. With a fairly typical 1GHz+ system, newer AGP card etc., the old standard 250w will not be enough and the later 300w may not either.

Here's just one site that gives a guide to calculating the power requirement. Not everything will be running at full demand at the same time of course but its best to be safe and a 400/420w psu doesn't cost that much.

http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/

I also read somewhere that XP eats memory. That may be wrong but for IL2-FB the BBS are saying that 512Mb isn't really enough. Don't know about AH2.

The minimum spec for AH2 isn't too high because you can reduce the graphics detail. Something like P800/Geforce2. It's given somewhere on the BBS.

Yeah I have expericed upgrading then have problems because of the power supply. A lot of people look over the power supply. I glad you pointed it out that the minimum spec for AH2 isn't all that high once you change the settings.

From Start menu, click on Run, then type dxdiag in the box and click OK.  This will bring up DirectX Diagnostic Tool.  Click on the Display tab and your graphics card is shown under Device at the top left.  :)

Wow, I am surprised how many people have not even tried to see if ah2 will run on their computer before they throw their arms up and threaten to quit.

If it is true that this game is entirely full of luddites and pinchpennies, maybe HTC should just do a suprise upgrade to the server, and let a little 'selection' occur in the player base.  Those that cant hack it can go back to digging through trash cans looking for aluminum cans, and playing solitaire on windows 3.1.  I am sure it will only take a month or two to find people with a computer from this century willing to replace them.
