Nilsen, I don't think it's good bait at all.
I mean, it was already used (albeit poorly and without  even a nibble).

All Ra did was take it off of Dago's hook and stick it on his own.
The stink has already been washed off, and it aint gonna attract any fishies at all.

Ra, if you are commited to using it, maybe you can try spitting on the hook first.:D

There is only 2 sides to that coin. The terrorists won't allow there to be any nuetral ground. If you do not believe in the terrorist's philosophy then you are lumped in to be on our side regardless in their poisoned minds. So why should that piss anyone off? We just took a similar stance basically saying if you get in the way of our war on terror them you are just  helping the terrorist wether that was your intention or not terefor wether you like it or not you would technically be on their side.

Based on what?  The polls just before we went to war, showing that 70% of US citizens supported the decision?  Anti-Americanism is not new, and it cannot be attributed to the Bush adminstration, as it has been around far longer than that.  President Bush is simply the current focus, as he had the audacity to act in his country's (as well as the world's) best interests when some (SOME, not ALL) other countries had not the courage.

I for one have never heard the President utter any negative comments about the French, German, or Russian nations.  Indeed, when the American public's anger with these nations was greatest, President Bush continued to state whenever asked that these nations were our friends, despite disagreements over how to handle Iraq.  I also don't recall the "silly" remark; I'd be interested in reading the entire statement, Fishu.  It lacks a contextual frame of reference.

We went to war with Iraq because they refused to live up to the ceasefire agreement after 12 years and 17 U.N. resolutions.  We have found weapons of mass destruction (though admittedly not in the quanities expected).  More importantly is irrefutable evidence that Sadam had every intention -- and was successfully hiding from U.N. inspectors the necessary infrastructure and capability -- to restart it's WMD programs the moment the U.N. was no longer looking.  His regime's ties to terrorism are also well documented.

Yeah, I should have left off the smiley since really it is true.  Most of the bashers hate the USA because it is a great country and we are not ashamed to say so.   I think you would also find most of the bashers live in countries that have no real standing in world affairs any longer, they are just annoying little puppies yapping for attention but basically ignored by the big dogs.

Example:

Finland, yeah, there's a world power with a say in anything.

Canada, right up there with the decision makers (yeah, that one cracks me up too).  Hell, they aren't sure if they are Canadiens, if they really are stilll part of the British empire or if they are maybe French.

The list goes on, the bashers are from easily ignored countries, and their impotence frustrates them.

Hows that?  Great bait, and yet so true.

LOL!

These threads always degenerate to the same thing, over and over and over again.

I guess it's all a matter of personal perspective. I am quite secure in the fact that I am proud of my country.

I don't feel a need to list any reasons, and I don't feel a need to belittle anybody elses pride in thier country.

To some extent I think we all tend to live "in our own back yards" and react to what directly affects us at the time.

I have been half way around the world, lived in 3 different countries and always have found the same thing. People are proud of thier history, and once removed from the political fillibustering are, by and large, just good people.
