We have more people in our shopping centre on any day than you have in your whole town, LOL.

If I'm ever down in your neck of the woods, when I place my order, would you kindly remember "I'd like fries with that!"

Making millions? Travelling all throughout the world?

So I guess that makes Anna Kournikova and the Backstreet Boys worthy of High Office if and when they should choose to run... Nothing like staying in overpriced hotel rooms and getting drunk all night long to broaden your understanding of world politics. Of course if you don't like that generation, you could always turn to Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses to, at the very least, run a few state governments.

Celebrities are, for the most part, the some most sheltered people on the planet(explaining why they can make it to the seemingly ripe age of 58 and still maintain the political beliefs of your average teenager). Despite the incredible mileage they accumulate, they do so under guard, and with as little exposure to 'common people' as possible.

As for your comment regarding the size of Lazs's town... The population of your whole country, all 4 million square miles of it, is eclipsed by 32 other countries, including Iran, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Nigeria and at least half a dozen other places where you wouldn't wanna take a chit... Does that make you an illiterate hick?

Next time I come through your neck of the woods, I'd appreciate it if you could put the 9% Alcohol by volume beer down long enough to scrub down my windshield.

xrtoronto you are being an idiot if you think celebrity singers are somehoiw the least bit worldy or insightful.. If nothing else thje simple fact that they are almost always sorrounded by a bunch of groveling "yes man" attendants, agents and other groupies would tend to skew their view of world events and assure that their own private prejudices and ignorance are not challenged...

The level of the division between Americans of different political persuasians is becoming frightening.  Moore's movie and Ronstadt's comments aren't bridging that gap...they are widening it.  They may believe that they are solidifying support behind their candidate Kerry...but they are galvanising the right as well.

It's going to be a dirty political season.

Does this mean you are just as "ticked" off about people who have more money than you and can influence the sheep with their neo con elitest political views? :lol

Silat,

I don't waste my time being "ticked off" about the wealthy, whether Republicans or Democrats,  buying influence and swaying the masses.

That's you're job.

The political persuasions of the wealthy don't bother me.  Most of them earned their money through good old-fashioned hard work.  The wealth they create benefits far more people than just themselves.  Most of the time when they use their money to gain political influence it is to prevent ill-conceived socialistic redistribution and industrial regulation laws from being pushed through Congress.  If they weren't doing this, our more liberalistic law-makers would long ago have killed the goose that laid the golden egg.

Sheep can be classified as those who not only follow shepherds, but have an innate desire to be led and taken care of.

Doesn't sound like any conservative I know.

I like Linda Ronstat's music , though not a big fan, she has a beautiful voice and is a professional.

Imo, it seems unprofessional to put half one's audience into an uneasy mood during a performance.  People go to hear her sing beautiful mood enhancing songs.  The audience was shortchanged and should get their money back.  And not just the ones who walked out.

I feel sick whenever I hear about the division of Americans in situations like what happened at the show.  This particular event violated the spirit of peacable assembly of like minded and law abiding citizens.  Not to mention breaking the cardinal business rule of good faith and delivering what the customer expects and paid for.  For those familiar with Mark Twain's works, he wrote of the royal nonesuch in Huckelberry Finn.  It means a performer takes the money and runs, after making grotesque faces at the crowd, and that's the performance.  Ronstat did that in a way, to half the audience at least.  Would I have gotten up and left?  You betcha bacon.  My evening would have been ruined.  Would I actively try to get my money back?  No, but I would accept it if it was offered.  Would I quit listening to Ronstat?  Hell no, unless local radio stations start making a farse about the incident and play nothing but Ronstat all the time.  She ain't a Jane Fonda.  I will not watch any of her movies because she is a traitor.

Ronstat made a poor choice of words.  Her mistake is leaving potential customers gun shy, so to speak, so they don't know what to expect.
