Any of you use a USRobotics router?

For the life of me I cannot connect to Tranquility with this PC.
I start the game, I show a connection to the test server, but Tranquility shows, no connection or server doesn't exist.

I have turned off all firewalls, and as far as I can tell my router is wide open....

EVE tech support is trying to help, but so far about all we have established is that I cannot telnet to the server.

Mebbe its a Rogers cable issue, though I doubt that.

Same thing with a D-Link DI-604 skurj. Plus when i click create an account the page comes up blank although I would assume I'm doing something wrong.

BTW, it's the router for sure, forgot to add it works when I run my cable direct.

I'm I right to assume there is no free trial in this game? As in you will be getting 30 days free but paying $19.99 for the download to get them? Was just wondering if you guys paid the $20 to try it, and if it's worth it.

Creamo, there is a 14 day free trial thru MMORPG.com. I am currently in my 3rd day of the trial. Going to give it the full 14 days but I hope it gets a little better (which I assume it will 'cause I ain't got much in terms of equipment). It's painfully boring at the moment IMO.

apache it gets better around day 10 of the trial if you do your training and mining right.

first train Learning and all the other Learning skills (iron will, analytical mind, etc) to level3.

(this takes about 5 days)

Then go for frigate 3.

then go for industrial skill 1 so you can have an industrial ship to haul your mined ore.

then go for Anchoring skill so you can buy and use secure containers.

If you mine while all these train (suggest you team up with others to mine faster) you will have enough money to buy the industrial ship and the container.

When you get all that you can go ahead and mine real good while you train the skills in the ship you want to be flying in (cruiser or interceptor of frigate or industrial).

Picked up a Bantam last night as soon as I got home from work (and I can NOT remember the last time I ran home to turn on a freakin video game lol) I was really excited, I hopped over a system to get the keys, and it looked like a sweet ride! So I went to take it for a spin, but I couldn't figure out how to get it out of Park!

So, I went over to the book-store and picked up "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Caldari Frigates" but I was all like "damnit! I already know all this crap." So I jumped around a few systems looking for the skill "Caldari Frigates for Dummies (Caldari Frigates II) but couldn't find it anyhwhere! Damnit! Finally I ask on the Corp channel if anyone knows where I can find this skill, and someone pointed out that I had to right click the skill from my Character Sheet.

Good to know!

So I'll get to take my ship out for a spin tonight hopefully.

The Bantam is nice. If your mining alone, it's not a bad platform. Room for drones and a couple of hardpoints for lasers, unfortunately no weapons. If you're working with a group and have a Badger nearby to do the hauling, the Merlin is better. The cargo hold is smaller, but you'll just be dropping cans so it makes little difference. The chief advantage is the missile rails. With these, you can defend the group and mine at the same time.
