P-38D didn't really see any service.  A P-38F or P-38G would be far more useful.

1. Ki-43 (Army main fighter like Navy A6M)
2. J2M (Navy Intercepter)
3. Ki-44 (Army Intercepter, lighter ammo and weight, excellent flight performance)
4. G4M (Most famous Navy Bomber with not bad performance)

want to see personally:

1. Ki-100-I-Otsu (bubble canopy ver of Ki-100, deadly TnBer.)
2. Ki-61-I-Otsu (12.7mm*4, lighter weight of Tony)
3. H8K2 Emily (IJN's great flying-boat like US army's B-17!)

Are you asking for more TARGET DRONES? :D

yep, i would love to see 2 Ki-44s (Ki-44-IIb armed with 4 12.7mm mguns, and Ki-44-IIc armed with 4 20mm cannons), a Ki-61-Ib, Ki-43, G4M2, J2M, and would Ki-100 as a perk plane (very limited production plane that saw limited service)  be ok?

:)

The Ki-44-IIc didn't have 4 20mm cannon.
And the Ki-100 is not rare plane. not very limited production.

Two thirds of the Luftwaffe's strength was deployed in the east. The strategic bombing campaign in the west was but a sideshow compared to the huge air battles fought over the Russian Front.

Edit: Even the huge 1000 bomber raids in the west pales to the largest air battle in history: Kursk. 2,900 Soviet and 1,830 German combat aircraft fighting over a battlefield swarming with over 7,500 tanks and millions of men.

They did carry 4x 20mm (Ho-3) cannons (or sometimes the 37mm on Ki-44c-37) and used them to pork the B-29s

then how can Ki-44s shot down small numbers of B-29s with just 2 12.7 and 2 7.7s? it would take them forever to down a B-29 with just mguns

The Air War in East vs Air War in the West debate!

I agree the battles in the East were larger.  The casualties the Luftwaffe suffered in the West though were greater.  The Luftwaffe bled itself dry in the Defense of the Reich.  They never developed an effective strategic defense.  It was too late by the time they realized the Danger the Allied Air Forces in the West posed.

Great reads on the subject are:

http://www.schifferbooks.com/newschiffer/book_template.php?isbn=0887403484

http://shoppervalues.com/books/detail.cfm?id=0684839156

http://www.bergstrombooks.elknet.pl/bc-rs/

IMO for A/C we need early VVS, IJN, and IJAAF planes the most.

I would like to see the LW get:

FW-190A2 or A3
Bf-109G14
Tropical versions of 109's
He 111

VVS:
Lagg - 3
Mig - 3
I-16
Yak 1
Yak 9
Yak we have is pretty close to the Yak 3, I think, which was a very late war plane.

USAAF

P 39 (could be reskinned for VVS)
P38F
B24

RAF
Spit Mk VIII
Clipped wing Spit Mk V or Mk IX (tropical)
Wellington
Blenhiem
Fairy Swordfish (Stringbag would be hoot to attack CV's)

JP planes have already been covered in detail.

The Ki-44-II had 2 Ho-301 40mm rocket cannon model on the wing.
It is the Ki-44-II-Otsu (Ki-44-II-b). 393 or less/more Ki-44-II-Otsu were produced.

Karnak, it was made saw some service.  We need some more early 38s.

Hoping for the 38D for its 37mm gun.  It would make the 38 perfect for gv busting and bomber killing.  Only problem it isnt that fast.

Canaris,

From what I've read the P-38 with the 37mm never fought.

Further, not all cannon are equal and the 37mm on the P-39/P-38D was mediocre.  Nothing like the NS-37 on the Yak-9T.

We don't need the P-38D because it saw less WWII use than the Ta152H-1.

The P-38F was the first significant model of that aircraft.
