Please turn off collisions
« Reply #15 on: August 15, 2004, 10:59:18 AM »
i was the first to say "haha" when people moaned that collisions was back "on" but after alittle more flying this is bull****

ive died 10 times today, once from bullets, 9 times from collisions of some sort.

HO a lancaster, at 400 i pull up and out of the way, we both blow up

Dive on a spit (1 winged!!!! yet still flying fine) got 400 off his 6, start to fire, miss (due to wing not being there....) counter pops to 200, bang, my prop dies.

2nd spit, (again 1 winged, i think i got issues here) 600 behind him, nik then HO's both of us, so i dive down under him, BOOOOOm we all die??????

BOB is going to be S*** tonight because you need to get close for 303 kills, and right now im scared to get within 1000 yards of people, let allone 150-200.

Buff guns are good now though so thats a big there.

LOL... I was the one who raised 'heck' about it. Be careful what you wish for I guess. I'm now dying constantly by flying into carcasses. Just need to relearn I guess.

PS... I agree the "collision bubble" seems too big. I know I've hit planes from 50-100 away.

Oh, so you're one of *those* eh? :D

J/K, I agree with your post.  Seems like we're colliding with things waaay outside of polygon intersection.  Looks like a bug at the moment.

I was mostly on the other side of things last night.  Was getting kills left and right without firing a shot.  Then I zoom up behind a 190, about 50 yards out and boom back to the tower.

Same applies to the 30, as the 303s.  You have to close in and saddle up.

Fine tune collisions, please

Please shrink the size of the collision bubble to as small as possible.

Is there a way to ensure the aircraft doing the ramming always dies?

(Doesn't seem fair that I die and the attacker doesn't when the attacker initiates a HO and rams me.)

Funny how the Hit bubble was shrunk to the size of a pea while the collision bubble was enlarged to the size of a Graff Zepplin.

lol! I said this to my squaddies:

Hit bubble is like this; Picture a P51 sitting on top of a Boring 747. The 51 is the actual size of the aircraft, the 747 is the colission bubble. .

Actually think its on too high, you get damage even if you do not contact with anything

Turn collisions off. They are more hassle than they are an effective deterrent of Hos.
Hoers will run ramped whether the collisions are on or off. This is proven in the MA for 2 years now.

I'd say keep em off.  One of my squadies proposed the idea of it increasing the HO dweebs.  Think of it this way, the dweebs get a kill no matter if they collide or not.  Where it used to be working for the kills cus there were no collisions.  I dont know about you but a 1:1 kill/death ratio aint too bad for a HO'er

=)

So keep em off, it only increases HO's and frustration

lost 5 jets to this BS. I HATE to whine about something like this but I will this time.

I always fire within 400d from a con. Now if I do that I die from the other planes massive sphere surounding him. The first time It happend I figured, Ok, I screwed up. NO big deal. I just got back in another jet and brushed it off. Then 2,3 and 4 times later, i knew that something had to be wrong. I've been flying jets long enough to know how to shoot the dam things now You need to pull a High G turn after shooting just to survive this BS.
