Indeed, it is "La Diada" (short for La Diada nacional de Catalunya)

We were all on holiday here that dreaded day. All celebrations were cancelled the moment it was confirmed the crashes were no accidents.

But life goes on, and today is indeed the national holiday of Catalunya, which is, itself, a part of Spain.

Daniel

PS: BTW thanks for remembering Beetle, this holiday has been somewhat, and comprensibly, buried under all that happened on 2001.

Sept 11th is not only for the WTC..It marked the beginning of the war of 1812.

And looking at the map..I've been there many times...In Valencia and Barcelona...

Also been to Palma de Mallorca...and Mahon Menorca.

beetle has dropped to the level of nothing more than a troll merchant. He deserves only an ignore function for his lack of taste and concern.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Very poor form.  I changed the title though.  The previous title just wreaked of flame bait.

Incredibly insensitive beet.
