The American reaction reminds me of one of the Star Trek movies. Kirk and a few of the other guys were trying to decipher a mysterious signal that was being transmitted to Earth. They couldn't make head or tail of it. But then Mr. Spock, who had kept his silence till then, explained that the signal would sound different underwater, and that the signal was not directed at the human population, but to whales in the oceans. His one word assessment for why the rest of the (human) crew aboard ship had failed to realise that the signal was not intended for humans was "arrogance".

All that with the thread title...

"September 11, rejoice!!!"

Nonsense. It's even more pathetic and callous that you refuse to admit any error or offer an apology.
You're wrong, Grunherz. The Sept.11/Catalunya celebration is a thing I have going with Cyrano. There was even a thread last year, in which he noted it first - he beat me to it. If you would kindly review this thread (Sept.11,2003), you will see where Daniel points out that it's a public holiday in Catalunya. I had been about to post the same thing. So this year I thought I'd get there first. If you look under the flag, there's even some silver text to Daniel. Simple as that - see?

I'd find that almost believable if you did not not follow up with "I gotcha U stupid Ameekans!" posts...   You baited and slammed once you thought your trap was sprung.  In reality, you only showed that you have the capacity to be what you accuse others of being.

Ahh well Beetle that makes it obvious for everyone, especilaly the reasonably obscure flag and the hidden cryptic text.  Not to mention all of it was obvious in the first post - how were we stupid to not remeber that old thread...  All our fault...How could we not see that the content of your first post really clears up any possible confusion about these words:

"September 11, Rejoice!!!"

Sorry Beettle I dont buy it and most peopel dont either. Especially considering you other posts in thsi thread.

Just admit you screwed up. You offended a whole lot of americans on this board yet you refuse to acknowledge that. Please apologize.  Or maybe your intent was to offend and that is why you refuse to make ammends...  Your choice Bettele...

I did no such thing. I was slightly miffed that a few Americans thought that I must be talking about their country. I wasn't. I was talking about Catalunya. Time for people to get a sense of proportion and understand that not every post on this forum is about America. And no country "owns" any date in the calendar. When I mentioned the Spock/Star Trek thing, I was being truthful. That really was the first thing that sprang to mind - have you seen that ST movie where he says that?

Oh please beet1e you aren't fooling anyone, your agenda was clear.  And although I support the idea of bringing up an interesting topic of cultural perspective, you at least should have the balls to own it.

Before your "joo stupeed Amerrekans!" tirade there was nothing but "I don't get it"  or "What's this about" along with one who did.  None of them tied your trap to the WTC yet you figured it was close enough and went off anyway.   Clearly you had an agenda and it revealed nothing other than your shortcomings as a human being.  Please be man enough to own up to your actions and just say your sorry instead of digging a deeper hole with worthless excuses.

Grunherz/rabbidrabbit.

No apology. I have nothing for which I feel the need to apologise.

Too bad if you read into threads what isn't there.

Oh god, beet1e there's only one of two intentions behind the title of your thread could have been.  One that you are incredibly simpleminded (which you're not) and could not possibly see how it could be intrepreted,  (rejoicing on 9/11? no that could be seen as disrespectfull  ), or it was a delibrate troll.

Now fine, I can see why one may use such a provocative title to open up what I thought could have been an interesting discussion.  But to carry on like that wasn't your intention insults the intelligence of everyone on this board, an in my opinion represents the height of intellectual dishonesty.  But this isn't the first time I've seen this type of discourse style from you.

I strangely enough have a wierd image of you sitting gleefully counting down the days until you could post this, but I guess I'm just a fantasist.  Not to take Cyrano's part...but I will, I find it also repugnant that you would disingenuously co-op him into this troll as well.
